just wondering, in terms of King Alistairs act 3 appearance, is there a difference between a save where your HN warden married him and your mage/elf being his bit on the side?

Ive seen the one where he marries Anora (no romance with warden)

I think that if he actually married the Warden, he well reference to her as "the old ball and chain", if the warden were just his mistress, then I don't think there is any special reference to her.

Most of my imports (all but 1) have my Cousland marrying Alistair, but he still hasn't referenced her as the ball and chain. In my last playthrough, Alistair actually referred to the Hero of Ferelden as "he", but I always play as a female. WTF? Waa.

There is a mistress reference from King Alistair's cameo, but I don't think you can get it in game unless you get that mod that's somewhere around here to fix it. There's bugs that stop you from getting the romance references for all the love interests.

The "old ball and chain" comment isn't really a romance reference because you don't have to romance Alsitair to marry him. Which is probably why there's no problems with getting that comment.

I got the "old ball and chain" comment when I imported my female city elf warden (who convinced Alistair to marry Anora), so I think it's just a reference he makes if he's married at all.

There are some bugs with importing save games from DAO etc with certain things getting flagged that shouldn't and vice versa so your DAO related dialogues & encounters don't always play out exactly as they should.
