So the people who chose not to blow up the base get slapped in the face?

Think about. Maybe if Shepard takes down TIM you can take over Cerberus and run it the way you want, similar to how Liara becomes the Shadow Broker. After all, Shepard is practically the gaurdian of Humanity.

Awkaay, I must admit that it is a very tempting idea, but TIM is such a wonderful character and he has a damn potential to be something more than just another-flat-boring-evul-to-the-bone-villian. I want to see him neither good nor bad, just as he was in ME2. For me, I mean.

Same here and I want him to be a LI for my femshep.

*Spine Shutters*

I do not want to picture that.

Well, I am a Tali fan, but thats neither here nor there.

I agree, but I dont like people complaining about the consequences of their action. Didnt nearly all your old friends from ME1 warn you to beware Cerberus, that they cant be trusted, that theyre using you, etc? Theres a reason giving the IM the base was renegade you know...Id rather destroy the base than let him have it, kind of a "You finally show your true colors, and I dont trust you, and if I cant have it, neither will you." Besides, I think ME2 was used to set up the Cerberus connection and the prelude to the war. In addition, I think the IM was after the base from the beggining. It would explain why he spent that much bringing back Shepard, since he was the only one with the cipher, beacon, and the only one to survive sovreign.

Mhhh, but as I said before I try to look at TIM like he is something more than just Devil himself. Okaaay, he is revengeful, sometimes conscienceless, but heeey, it's all for the greater goooood!
But it doesn't fit the ultimate-paragon-point-of-view, so I must be wrong, yeah.

Choices&Consequences BSN... you complain about lack of them and now that you clearly have made a choice that has bad consequences you whine. Hypocrisy. Not all choices are good and this was obviously bad so rejoice that you will experience consequences that BSN is longing for :)

Right..so what "consequences" are Paragons going to see? Maybe Balak (whom you let escape in order to save a handful of scientists) will try again to drop a rock on a human colony and succeed this time, killing millions of people?

Won't happen.

Was it not obvious that Paragon is good choice and Renegade is bad choice? Consequences can be good as well and that is what Paragons will be getting :P Haha but really I think some thing will blow up in out face like the Rachni Husks. But overall Paragons will get more positive consequences than Renegades.

A non-Talimancer opinion:

Yeah, TIM's a bit of a backstabby douche.  Totally expected him to turn on Shepard.

Kickass character, though.

When did it become 'Us Renegade folks get it worse than Y'all Paragons'?

The story is written as a story, not as means of balancing around players' options of choice. If you made a bad decision, the consequences are yours. I think you just got so used to the 'every problem could be solved with a red text or a blue text' idea, that having real consequences feels like breaking the rules. Stop looking at it as alignment bonuses and start thinking of it as actual choices.

If you do get slapped in the face you had it coming. There's ambiguity about Cerberus the entire course of the game and you should have known that there is a chance that TIM would get naughty; there's a real possibility that the 'Cerberus isn't as evil as people think' motif is just a cover-up, and the conspiracy can go both ways.
The ambiguity, although not feeling on the same scale, is identical to the one we have with the Rachni queen, but there the decision to give trust was, in fact, the Paragon one.

Paragon is not the 'win button' option, and you can't tell anything right now about how the decisions previously made will unfold in ME3, nor compare the consequences of Paragon and Renegade choices.
Yelling favoritism is just stupid.

I never thought of it as "keeping the base," but more "giving it to a megalomaniac". Not much of a choice there.

TIM is a great man who saved humanity from the Collectors.

Now what have you done for humanity lately?

Probably would have been better if the choices weren't labelled "Renegade" or "Paragon". People put too much emphasis on them rather than the decisions themselves.

Shepard would have been a corpse or completely helpless against the Collectors without my man TIM's money and strategic planning.

TIM is a hero and it's long overdue that people gave him the proper thanks.

Cerberus are the bad guys now =/= keeping the base has no benefits. Keep your pants on.

This. We have almost no idea what will happen in ME3's story, although Cerberus have been announced an enemy for a part of the game (possibly temporarily) we still know nothing about the base situation. Hell, we may even get the opportunity to take it for ourselves after defeating/re-allying with Cerberus.

So much for the idea that TIM would embody the best and worst characteristics of humanity. That's too confusing for the CoD/Farmville crowd; is he a good guy!? Is he bad? Whaaaaat?

Time to give him a top hat, black cape, and an Evil (with capital E!) twirling mustache!

That's because nobody but backwater Earth-born racists like Terra Firma likes him.

yeah, choices should never have consquences. that'd be CRAZYYYYYYYYYYY

also. this is nonspoilers area dude.

Because TIM doing a 180 and allying with the ****ing Reapers after expending most of his organization's resources to resurrect Shepard for the purpose of fighting the Reapers is a totally forseeable and obvious consequence, amirite?

This is Bioware giving it to renegade players right in the ass without even the decency of a reacharound.

You can pretty much assume Paragons will never have one of their decisions subverted like this. And don't start with the Rachni, because they're almost certain to be an enemy in Renegade games too.

Im really thought that with all the complaints about the one-sided pandering to the Paragon side they would've learned something. But, it's the same old sh*t as always. I can't say how angry I am about that. Start thinking about things and you'll get the shaft. Obviously Bioware doesn't want people to think, but to make decisions on an impulse, since that's guaranteed to give us the best results, guaranteed side-effect-free.
