Guys. Your arguing about a game. A GAME.

Seboist, your bordering on TIM/Cerberus worship. Just so you know, they aren't a real organization. ExtremeOne, we aren't renegade or paragon players, we are just players of the game. No need to segregate the two, as we are all people who make our own decisions.

The game will play out as the writers want it to, and you really shouldn't feel entitled to have it play out as you want it to. Your just playing the game, you don't get to choose how your decisions in it turn out. But, I would suggest not going only with renegade choices.

If you guys ever get this angry about games like this, I really would suggest going out with a friend or something and having a good time. Or maybe playing a different game with a friend. Like co-op in Portal 2, that's good fun. Just don't make a big deal over the simple things in life. Only make this big of a deal when you get screwed over in real life.

I'd give my life for TIM, what can i say. He's a man with a plan and gets things done.

Naaaah, you're right, I should be another asslicking Alliance lapdog with no pride. Just look what they have done to protect humanity from Collectors! VS was send to Horizon only to capture Cerberus, not to deal with the real threat. And oooh, how those Alliance pricks bravely defends the truth about Sovereign!
Soooo yesss, I kept that damn base and I do not regret, I'm sorry.

(Yeeeaaah, Alliance is so bounded they cannot even backlash against Councils Sovereign propaganda)

Yeah, let's all be Renegades like the cool kids on the street, and be EXTREME!

****ing idiot...

And by the way, which one of the Alliance and Cerberus have fleets they can deploy to contribut at least something when the Reapers attack? Not Cerberus.

So go and choke on TIM's balls. You seem so good at it.

Hell yeah you bloody renegades!

Oh, and don't worry. Casey Hudson said in one of his interviews about ME3 that they won't punish players about their decisions.

I kept the base with my Paragade regardless of my distrust of TIM, because I judged that throwing away such a potentially beneficial resource against the Reapers would be foolish. I for one will wait until Mass Effect 3 before proclaiming that Bioware has slapped anyone in the face.

Why do people keep saying not destroying the base is a bad choice even without the stupid ME3 180 degrees TIM flip?.

Indeed even with the illusive mans nonsensical attitude change destroying the base is the worst thing you could do.

A simple analogy is.

If we were to liken collector technological advancement to the state we are currently at in reality, then the council races have a technological advancement comparable to late 19th century humanity. (1860-1890)

Compared to the Reapers if the reaper tech is likened to modern tech the council races are more like in the 17th/early 18th century.

So you have 1 opportunity to examine the enemies far more advanced tech and base conclusions off of it with which to advance your own technology. Blowing it up is such a bad idea it beggers beleif.

Either way the Reapers and Cerberus can be destroyed. With or without the collector base. What I'm wondering is...

Will Shepard get a chance to use the Reaper-Cerberus alliance too to take the galaxy for Mankind... then stab them in the back? Just remember how Shepard used the council and then destroyed it when the opportunity was there.

I can't wait till the new book to see if that will give any clues as to why Cerberus doesn't suddenly like Shepard. I hope that will give more insight into this debate.

I fail to comprehend why the renegade players' complaints seem so easily misunderstood.

It is NOT that they don't want their actions to have negative consequences.

It IS that the don't want their actions to be the only ones to have negative consequences. Especially when there are perfectly valid logical trains of thought behind a lot of those actions, and if the player is trying to roleplay through the story, their morality will often not completely align with Bioware's interpretation of morality, which in turn screws the player out of choices that should be available.

On my first mostly paragon playthrough in ME1 and 2, exactly 1 Paragon decision I made actually resulted in "huh. crap. shouldn't have done that," and that was trusting Elnora (Eclipse merc on Samara's recruitment mission) when she said she hadn't killed anyone. Being a renegade gives you a lot more of those.

For satisfaction on renegade players' part, it wouldn't even have to be something all that game-changing. Samesh Bhatia almost gets one - I picked renegade (let Alliance run more tests), and I am given to understand that ME2 was supposed to have a Galactic News that said those tests were yielding results, results that would not have happened if the player was a Paragon and made the Alliance give up the body.

So, to be brief - any who dismisses renegade supporters' arguments with "you just don't want your decisions to have bad consequences", please kindly examine a reflective surface.

I know I am being immature, but all of you Cerberus lovers go and check out the story updates for ME3 in the "Confirmed features" thread (spoilers obviously). Before I read that I hated Cerberus too, but at least I loved TIM for his voice (I'm kidding, I still love TIM for that) and his ability to get things done (oh, also for resurrecting and giving me the best god damned ship in the galaxy!). But after I read the story updates for ME3 (actually I accidentally saw the one regarding Cerberus while quickly scrolling down the page - and then spend 30 minutes trying to forget what I saw) all I can think is "Burn, baby BURN!"

I told you Cerberus was evil, but you were like " OMG CERBERUS ASWESOME, human dominance ftw".
Consequences. You chose an action, now you learn that you gave something to someone who was just using you.

In all fairness Bhatia's has both paragon and renagade in keeping the body or giving it away so their are choices that can go either way and still be bad or good.

So what? Cerberus may be "evil" in your opinion, may be even after Shepard, it doesn't change the damn fact, that TIM has the right idea.

My Shepard will work for human dominance with or without Cerberus. Like my sig says "TIM has the right idea" and she's going through with it.

really everybody got slapped in the face

if you blew up the base to weaken Cerberus you got screwed because Cerberus got stronger (way stronger) anyways

if you kept the base to strengthen Cerberus you got screwed because Cerberus hates your face regardless of what you do

say what you will about Dragon Age 2, at least they finally dropped the multiple endings facade because it never gets followed up on in any meaningful way, Bioware should follow the CD Projekt RED route and have a central story that doesn't change that provides the potential writers are asking for and then have side stories that can more easily be followed up upon in a sequel
