I've already beaten ME2 on Harcore as a Soldier and all my squad mates survived the suicide mission which gave me all the available bonus powers I could select from the start for any future play through. I'm playing it again as a Soldier on Insanity and I wanted to choose Inferno Grenade because it's fun to set people on fire when they're ducking behind the chest high walls but my problem is that there's still one slot that's blank and my squad mates still have some open power slots as well. I was hoping that taking the bonus power at the start made it a "permanent" power so I could select another bonus power when I gain the loyalties of the crew in this play through but it doesn't seem to work that way. I keep switching out that same power slot and I end up losing my Inferno Grenades.

Do these blank slots ever get filled up, maybe on a third play through? Can I gain an extra power besides the one I was allowed to choose from the beginning of the replay? I might have missed something, but I haven't been able to do that so far.

I took a screen shot and highlighted the empty slots to show you what I mean.

Shepard has access to 5 class powers, one bonus power and medkits = 7; squadmates have two powers plus one (unlockable loyalty power) = 3. That's it, you cannot have more powers without modding.

Never seen those blank slots before though - that's really weird. Was this also the case during your previous playthroughs?

maybe in ME3.

In ME2 you get a(1 single) bonus power slot and are allowed to change it among any of the opened bonus powers. You can't keep adding powers unless as Boz stated you mod the game.

Yeah, the gui looked the same in my first play through as well, hence why I was wondering if I did something wrong. So it's not supposed to look like that?

I took a look at the advanced training videos to see what the hud should look like since they aren't using my hud and they are actual video files being played back, but it's the same. Those extra five spots are still there which is really strange and they are mocking me now, I hear them saying things when I start up the game. ../../../images/forum/emoticons/andy.png
