The DLC is actually done.  We/BioWare are waiting on the certification teams right now.  And most likely everyone is off for the holiday.

I think spamming the main forum is counter productive.  It's only going to make the mods and BioWare grumpy at the extra work they'll have to do.  Plus, if they respond to a mob fit, then people will try it again down the road and BioWare can't give up that control over their infos.  If someone has already done a mass spam, I missed it.  That's also probably why they aren't replying to us in this thread.  Which is totally understandable.

Will we get RtO by Christmas?  Probably not.  A large chunk of the world is either on holiday or juuuuust about to go on holiday.  And if you've never worked in a corporation the day before a day off....  You should know most people only give about 50% effort.  :D

With that said, this being the internet, where reason is off by default:  CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!

I wouldn't mind so much that they pushed the release date back if they would just come out and give us some kind of an update for it. The last update we got was nearly two weeks ago saying MAYBE it'd get pushed back to January because of the re-certifications, but that they still hoped for a Christmas release for the PC and X-box versions.

Since then there has been no updates for it, saying definitely nothing before Christmas (which is pretty obvious at this point). It would have and still would be a courtesy for us to get some kind of official word on what is going on rather than leaving us hanging. A lot of goodwill and understanding is lost when people feel like they are being ignored, and most of it can be salvaged by someone on the team taking 3 minutes to post here and at least let us know SOMETHING.

It's like being stood up for a date. If the person calls and says "Hey, I'm not going to make it, my car broke down and I'm waiting for a tow", you're less likely to hold it against them than if you never got a call until a week later. Most people would also appreciate a call back letting them know that the tow truck arrived and you're not sitting on the side of the road anymore.

I wouldn't say this is spamming at all....we are all civilized and we are all getting along perfectly in a single unified voice asking nicely when we can start giving them our money.....that isn't so bad now is it?

That's all well and good.   But this mess with the DLC was caused by Bioware advertising that they had new DLC coming out during the holidays.   That's pretty vague and customers are simply looking for more precise information, especially since the holidays are now here.   Why not just give us a simple release date?  If it is not going to be released during the holidays as was advertised, how about just telling us that?  This is the core reason everyone is a bit testy.   We are not stupid....the likelyhood of the DLC coming out now is pretty remote, but a confirmation update from Bioware one way or the other would be reasonable, would it not be???   And it would take just a few minutes to post on the news board, which is a far shorter time that it took to put together the advertising to start with.  I find it hard to accept the *be patient* *stop asking questions* blather when nobody forced Bioware to advertise that it was going to be available during the holidays.  They did so and now reasonably so we'd like to know where it is.

Not bad at all.  I totally agree with you!  Someone was talking about starting dozens of threads in the main forum.  That would be counter productive, in my (high-fallotin') opinion.

I'm with you on that.  I strongly suspect that since the game came out on all the major platforms (sorry one-button crowd :D) they'll do the DLC the same way.  Which I think sucks.  Why should PC and 360 have to wait for Sony?  That company can't fall apart fast enough.

I'm a little amazed at some of the conclusions that are being drawn, one poster was saying it had been cancelled? LOL where on earth was that dredged up from,...his overly fertile imagination? If it is in certification process, and IF its in Microsoft hands for certification...then I guess there's nothing to do but wait to see the results of that. Starting multiple spam threads about this issue is not going to get things working faster, probably the only effect you'll achieve is getting us all ignored.

Hopefully when someone has time, maybe they can pop in and give us the word on the DLC, multiple spam threads is just being obnoxious. Usually when you want something from someone, ya don't throw mud at them..or whatever. :P Common sense...or at least it is where I come from.

I agree somewhat, its just that if things are really "out of their hands" then what is the deal with updates daily on other threads from Bioware and yet they cant even take 10 seconds to say "Hello. Its out of our hands. Bye" on this thread??? The only reason they would shy away from this thread is if something has gone wrong on Bioware's part.

To Bioware: I dont care nearly as much if you have made a mistake with the DLC as much as i do the absence of an official update on this thread. Reassure us that the DLC is being delayed on the part of Sony and prove my doubts are wrong. If you cant give us an update then simply say "Hi. Bye" to let us know your breathing.

Maybe it's because for a while I played too many online games. But this delay doesn't surprise me at all. It has been my learning that nothing online ever comes out on time. Was hoping Bioware would be different, but really not surprised.

All we want is a comment. If Bioware is so vigilant in deleting new Ostagar threads from coming up, and reffering their creators to this thread, SURELY they can come in here and, worst case scenario say "Hi. We cannot comment on the release date of RTO DLC at this time due to _____. Sorry. Bye". Its that simple and if they cannot do that then something is up.

Precisely what i have been saying and feeling. They were the ones who raised our expectations so it's up to them to handle it... ... Hopefully they will change their style the next time and don't give such a long pre-empt period cause it's really not needed. WE WILL BUY EVERY DLC BIOWARE. (Okay at least people like me will and I am thinking there is enough of us)

They created this thread for questions on the Return to Ostagar dlc...same as any forum on the internet, when the same topic comes up repeatedly...they make a stickied threads and all those questions and commentary go in that thread........made for that purpose.   That way the rest of the forum isn't drowned out.    And it makes the moderator job a little easier.

Bioware's MODERATORS

(not the Dev team..if a member of the Dev team comments its because they want to..but they aren't obligated..far as I know) are doing their job,  they clean up the forums..when we make a mess...:P

I too want to know when the DLC is coming out, but I think I have more dignity than to lose it over not having the precise date of release..especially at this time of year.

If there is noone "official" around to comment..then I guess we won't hear for a bit...maybe wait til boxing day..by then at least all that holiday stuff will have settled down maybe....

Heh I actually saw someone post in this thread that they want answers NOW in capital letters....geez.    Time to go do something else methinks ...whilst waiting.

Weird thing is that this DLC was announced some time ago already and has probably been in the works for some time...it would look real strange that they would hand this in for certification at the very last possible moment since the supposed release date should be just around the corner.

Either something went terribly wrong and they had to redo a lot of stuff over or it was handed at the very last moment which means in my opinion that the management handling the game is not capable to manage the product properly which means that again, the dlc might not be working properly whcih will lead to more problems.

it is no rare for a gaming developper to be late on delivering stuff on time but then again you do not start advertising that kind of a deal 3 months in advance knowing that you will probably not make it on time. Or if you do want to make it on time then you get the resources necessary to get the job done..even if it would cost you extra money to get there....

Empire Total war had a lot of patches and suffered many times from delays...

certification delays and steam delays...which infuriated waiting fans....

because of some system that have put in place, it creates more red tape that the product has to go thru to get to the user....is it a good thing..yes if the product was delivered in a timely manner that will not affect the release date and no if it is handed at the last minute...

I have seen a couple of weeks delays on many games...and steam is just awfull on delivering the patches when it comes from other companies...i have seen games not get their official patch thru steam for weeks while retail had been patched....

I pity people who buy games thru steam...i did myself on games i had no choice because it was using steam as a protection scheme but otherwise i will not buy games on steam because of their red tape and that is one reason out of many i do not like steam....

end of rant...

Very logical. All i would add is:

"hello there Bioware moderator i bet this thread is amazingly amusing for you too. If it wouldn't take too much of your time, mind saying...

"Hi. I am a just a humble moderator and cannot help you. Everyone who can help you has no further information about when the DLC may be released and/or has not been able to access the internet for over a week so they cant even say "still no update. Sorry". So your just going to have to sit tight and wait it out."

I know its a lot to expect, especially since the last official comment was so recent.

I've been watching you-tube videos on Claudia Black ..for the Farscape series that ran on the sci-fi channel for 4 years or thereabouts. Looks like some really interesting characters, just looking to find how to buy the set....thats one option that is a spin-off of my wait on the dlc. Hehe and I hear the movie set is like 25 cds ...two box set. Those that like Morrigan's voice, will get to hear more. :P I think she's a pretty cool person..good actor from the clips I saw.

lol! so the scapegoat is blame it on sony even though its entirely on bioware's hand? even though bioware said that it WOULD be an option but never confirmed. btw if that were the case then you'd have to wait for january 14th... at the earliest.
