I seem to be in the minority here who'd rather they took a bit more time to get it up and running properly than rush it out and risk extra bugs. Who knows, maybe they ran into a last minute issue that stopped them releasing - better they find out before it goes in sale than after.
The DLC is actually done. We/BioWare are waiting on the certification teams right now. And most likely everyone is off for the holiday.
I think spamming the main forum is counter productive. It's only going to make the mods and BioWare grumpy at the extra work they'll have to do. Plus, if they respond to a mob fit, then people will try it again down the road and BioWare can't give up that control over their infos. If someone has already done a mass spam, I missed it. That's also probably why they aren't replying to us in this thread. Which is totally understandable.
Will we get RtO by Christmas? Probably not. A large chunk of the world is either on holiday or juuuuust about to go on holiday. And if you've never worked in a corporation the day before a day off.... You should know most people only give about 50% effort.
With that said, this being the internet, where reason is off by default: CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!
:O:O
Weird thing is that this DLC was announced some time ago already and has probably been in the works for some time...it would look real strange that they would hand this in for certification at the very last possible moment since the supposed release date should be just around the corner.
Either something went terribly wrong and they had to redo a lot of stuff over or it was handed at the very last moment which means in my opinion that the management handling the game is not capable to manage the product properly which means that again, the dlc might not be working properly whcih will lead to more problems.
it is no rare for a gaming developper to be late on delivering stuff on time but then again you do not start advertising that kind of a deal 3 months in advance knowing that you will probably not make it on time. Or if you do want to make it on time then you get the resources necessary to get the job done..even if it would cost you extra money to get there....
Empire Total war had a lot of patches and suffered many times from delays...
certification delays and steam delays...which infuriated waiting fans....
because of some system that have put in place, it creates more red tape that the product has to go thru to get to the user....is it a good thing..yes if the product was delivered in a timely manner that will not affect the release date and no if it is handed at the last minute...
I have seen a couple of weeks delays on many games...and steam is just awfull on delivering the patches when it comes from other companies...i have seen games not get their official patch thru steam for weeks while retail had been patched....
I pity people who buy games thru steam...i did myself on games i had no choice because it was using steam as a protection scheme but otherwise i will not buy games on steam because of their red tape and that is one reason out of many i do not like steam....
end of rant...
