Come on was anybody really surprised about this after the fiasco that was Pinnacle Station?
True, which really makes the situation worse. Mass Effect was supposed to have all manner and sort of DLC when it was announced. Instead we only got BDtS and Pinnacle Station (which aside from being horrible was only released a few months ago and was made by another company). Now while I remain optimistic, I'll believe "two years" of any kind of meaningful DLC when I see it. And don't be surprised when you see an "announcement of an announcement" for DLC which doesn't get released when the actual announcement originally says it is. Honestly, I haven't pre-ordered Mass Effect 2 for this reason and won't until it gets much closer to the release date.
Are you saying mass effect 2 won't come out in january? Are you sure you can handle the people coming in to defend the release date?

release them after they feel enough people are in their second play through.
Many here are on their third and fourth.
To Little Paw first, what? You directly contradict yourself in this paragraph. Low replayability, and third or fourth play through are a contradiction, and the fact is, some are on their 8th, or 12th playthroughs.
No communication about what's up is bad. It is also out of character for what I know of BioWare. For al the naysayers, let's not forget the 169 patch for NWN's that was released after the publisher closed the door on the game. That's one of the things I hate about this forum, we all look like newbs. Some of us have been around for a very long time.

No, I doubt this close to release they would push it back without an announcement ......see Obsidian Alpha Protocol October 9. If you look through the Mass Effect 1 forums for DLC, you'll basically see the same story as you've seen here (i.e. DLC costs too much, when will it be released, why can't we get an update it's been two weeks, etc.) I was just saying that as far as DLC seems to go its the same story...Premature announcement of announcement, a "hey guys sorry something came up so we had to push back the announcement of the announcement" statement, then finally (hopefully soon too) the actual announcement of when the release will be.

Here's to hoping it's here before New Years due to that's the official "end" of the holiday season. They've got 6 days left before they fail on their promises to their enormous fanbase. I mean god... 121 some pages of posts? Guys... You have fans. Make us happy
I personally think an itty bitty $5 add-on would be an incredible Christmas present. It's cheap and yet... so possibly full of happytime fulfillment!

It's gonna come but not on the anounced time and its a shame to put it mildly.
I think they are trying to force us to learn how to use DA:Toolset and make our damn DLCs  .

Those guys also have families, and even if it is as simple as pressing a button to release it, I can't fault them for wanting to devote time to something that's ultimately more important than the release of some DLC.
So it wasn't here for Christmas day. I'm not bothered - i've barely had enough time to write this, let alone play it if it were released today.

This is bit funny really. I mean first to complain how after just a 3 week of getting game we get this new DLC and have to pay 5$ from it (and one moderator told later that it will be cheaper then that), how it is bad to get so fast new stuff and it should be way longer.
Now when Bioware is actually using more time and try to make nice solid new DLC before 1.1 (or when ever you folks in USA end your holiday season) taking your first critic and actually making it longer everyone start to complain because.. they did not get it last month or do not get monthly DLC.
Try to decide people. Do you really want to get one update you pay for 5$ per month and give you around 20min-1 hour of play or something with more quality, playtime and what cast even less then 5$ but take more time then a month to make?

Fist I was always of the group that wanted new content now. They make their money not from an Individual sale but from the gross amount of sales. That's where they make their money. They plan on lowering the price from $5 let's just say $4 for argument sake if only 100,000 people buy the DLC that's $400,000. If even half that number buy it that come out way ahead despite the time and people involved making it. Thats economics 1o1.
I do have to say though like you I would rather have a full expansion than these mini mod DLC'S where they nickle and dime us to death.
P.S it's not a monthly fee of $5 it's a straight 1 time fee of $5. This is not like a MMO that has a monthly fee.

Robertthebard:
Did I say I WAS ON MY THIRD OR FOURTH PLAYTHROUGH?
Nope, I didn't.
I did not contradict anything. For someone who plays more for story, a few dialogue changes DO NOT heighten replayability, THAT MUCH. I took my time playing this game and fully enjoyed it, and am left twiddling my thumbs for the DLC. I don't hate Bioware or EA for this, I am merely speaking as a consumer with I hope are logical and well thought out feedback.
I also DID NOT bother with the ME1 DLC because I was a displeased customer and was way off that game too by the time that got rolling. So there is a track record of failure here.
If you want to check out a company that gets their community, communicates well, and gives back, see ProjectRed and The Witcher...they even sent a XMAS card to all registered players of that game. Not to compare this gameto that one, but with The Witcher I feel much closer to the company that makes that game. Companies should strive for that kind of community, no matter what line of business they are in.
I will not name my own company, but it is also a very customer service oriented organization that gets back to all customer within 24 hours, and goes over the top to handle any and all issues. So, I am speaking from experience when I say that many gaming companies are just not on the same plane of customer service, and are not held to it by any third party organizations. Gaming companies are like "spirits in a material world" that can hide behind forum posts (or non posts), and as I said not held to the same standards as say a retail outlet like a Nordstrom, or a restaurant chain, where if they fail to come through for a customer can really get dragged through the mud and gain very bad press. With gaming, an upset customer is a whiner, and the massive gaming community is so "short attention span" that they are willing to put up with it. Can't blame a gaming company for only doing what they need to, and not what anyone really is demanding.
I love Bioware's products. I only hope feedback like mine, like the feedback I get from my customers, is used to improve the product. My main point is that no other consumer of any other product gets taken advantage of more than a gamer, but alas, we allow it, and no outside party really feels a need to protect the gaming community anyway. I would love to run a company that makes millions, but does not have to respond or react to false claims and "borderline" false advertising. Actually no I wouldn't, and I don't.

Further DLC for this game is starting to look less appealing every moment.
yeah. each day i wake up without news of RtO makes the DLC more suckier and suckier. also, my confidence with future DLCs is withering.

I'm jaded on ME2....just because every damn game I wanted to play last year got pushed back including Dragon Age. You are right though...there's nothing stopping the Jan 26th date at this point. As for your point on the DLC, thats pretty much what I did with Fallout 3. If RtO goes too far into January, thats what I'll do with it too. There are too many things out right now and any further into January would just conflict with ME2 (and Assasin's Creed II, possibly Uncharted 2, and hell even Tales of Monkey Island for that matter).

And don't forget, Count-JN, it's going to be less than $5 when it's released (you didn't get that far in the thread if you only read the first 16 pages).
I would just like to be kept updated on DLC issue's myself if there are delays at least let everyone know hats going on and why.

Dear bioware. Missing a release date is not a great way to earn money from a DLC. Just so you know.
Just cause Pinnacle station sold like hot cakes dont mean you can keep repeating the same style of doing things. WE will not always forgive u

The epilogue save is created when you complete the game. You have the stats you've got at the end but it takes place before you battle the Archdemon. Also, you can't visit any of the vanilla areas. It basically puts you in the wood, with a walking distance to camp. Simple as that!
You're right. I just fired up the game and checked. There is a save game which specifically mentions it is the epilogue save and the description says that it is meant to play premium content after finishing the game itself.
