I just finished my first play through. Thought I would wander over here to see the progress on RtO. Thanks to YohkoOhno for pasting the two parts of posts that she did, they told me all I needed to know. The DLC isn't done, due to Bioware trying to improve it; when there is a definite new date of release we'll be let know, until then we probably will hear nothing (in spite of the ****ing).

Thanks for the great game, Bioware, and thanks for the extra content; which, in spite of what some may think, you are not required to provide us with. I look forward to playing when it is released.

Thats right they are not required to provide us with any content whatsoever. However if that was a path they decided to take then we would not give them our money, we would spend it elsewhere. Bioware is a great company i must admit, one of the best software developers out there, but at the end of the day it exists to make money.

Now if the extra content was free, then what you said would be entirely true.

Some people think the world revolves around them...and that they are entitled whenever and as often as possible...to beech beech beech. End of story. Enough already it will be out when its out..now take your tantrums elsewhere...

**Edit..and another thing if its taking longer, I would IMAGINE that perhaps Bioware is concerned about putting out a quality product to match the quality product we have already played ie: the main campaign.   So attempting to push the Devs around ..may get you what you want......but it won't give us the quality we expect...

Go do something else.   Read a book, wish your family a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays or however that is represented to you.   Sitting here on this board, fuming and having tantrums accomplishes nothing but make you look a bit silly.

If you think you can do better and in less time...sit down and create a mod....hey there's an idea...hmmmm?

Is it late because they are improving it or is it late cause they didn't give it enough buffer for last minute certification issues?

I certainly hope they are improving it or the disappointment will be monumental.

Ironically, the only temper tantrums I've seen in 129 pages have been those of people trying to accuse others of having temper tantrums.

Woa there Feraele, all i am saying is that Bioware is not a non-for-profit organisation and that what it is doing is bad for business - that is the fact of the matter. This has nothing to do with me, this has to do with how business works in a capitaist society. If you want to keep the market share you live up to expectations.

Tell us when you have played the game through. We want to continue this awesome game thats why we are so persistant.

I have. Three times.

Sigh, o well. I guess that i just dont expect Bioware to go mute when things dont go according to plan. They should keep in contact with us during the good times and the bad.

Did it ever dawn on anyone here that ..this is the holidays...and things slow down production wise at this time of year....

Or did the Devs and their families suddenly become non-humans...shapeshifted into mindless automatons for your benefit?

Real life happens with them too..not just you.

NOTHING they have done thus far has been bad for business........you sitting here having a tantrum might be.

Get off your high horse and go do something constructive.

Well, as a reminder, here was Rob's exact words.

Hi everyone. Sorry for not popping in and providing another update sooner. Based on some of the feedback in this thread, we made the decision to revisit Return to Ostagar and make some small improvements, including the addition of a new Ostagar-specific achievement/trophy and a reduction in the price. This has required a patch/title update and some additional testing and certification. This has pushed our dates back and I can confirm that the PS3 version will not arrive until the New Year. For PC and X360, we're still working hard to get it out in time for Christmas but we're not out of the woods quite yet. We'll put out another press release once we're 100% confident of the dates.

Like he said, he's not going to post anything until he is 100% confident of the dates. So I don't see why people expect him to post an update if he has no clue. In fact, for a time Rob didn't post anything after the anti-DLC crowd comes in. I'd be a little wary myself of jumping into the waters when there are a few people like TastyLaska who keep spamming the thread and making it bigger than it should be.

Thanks!
Is there any way to pin ths at the top of the thread.  I would have saved a lot of time sifting through the unhappy posters to get the answer I was looking for.

Nope. Not at all. Not even once in 129 pages. What has dawned on us, and been stated numerous times in the last 29 pages at least, is that it's been 2 weeks since the last update and it's safe to say that they haven't been on vacation for that entire 2 weeks.

Yes thats what happens, especially if you plan to release a product right smack bang in the middle that period. Oh, and not to mention the absence of internet connectivity during this period rendering 60 seconds of someone's time to update a thread on an ever-growing ridiculous issue impossible. I understand

Then you didn't read the Yoko ono quote above that they have gone back and added some new things to the dlc after visiting this thread ..and finding out the people were wanting "achievements" ..that all takes extra time, or do you think you could do better?  If you can..prove it.   I want screenshots too...hehehe

Oh I have. All 129 pages. And I've seen many people asking for just an update with posts complaining about people asking for an update mixed in after every 6-7 posts. When it's pointed out that asking for an update isn't asking for much of anything since it takes less than 30 seconds to type "Sorry, it won't be out till after New Years. We'd hoped it would be out sooner, but circumstances beyond our control prevented it.", in come the posts about people whining and ****ing and having temper tantrums when that's clearly not what's going on.

I would like to say ditto ...and I have played through about 7 times thus far.   Planning on at least one or two more playthroughs, but currently doing something else at the moment.   I did come to this thread hoping to see some news, but alas its the same old moaning and groaning that was going on a few days ago when I left off posting here..rofl.

Cheers to those with patience...and here's some coal for the malcontents. :P

In order to believe that there would be nothing to update we would have to believe that time froze after the last post by Rob and that nothing happened or failed to happen since then. Since that's impossible, it's safe to say that they've known whether or not they were going to make their self-imposed deadline. Especially considering the last post by him on this thread said that the PC version still appeared to be on track for a Christmas release, the 360 version had a problem but they were working hard to make the deadline, and the PS3 version wouldn't be out till next year. I'd go quote the post for you but I'm having a major deja vu moment since I know I have said this more than once in the last 30 pages and have quoted it at least once already.

Point being, obviously he was wrong about the PC version and the 360 version's error was apparently harder to fix than originally thought. They've known for awhile now that neither version would be out for Christmas since sending it back through QA isn't an overnight deal. A 30 second post isn't too much for paying customers to ask for.

Be careful there, coal only fuels the flames.

Bioware has a standard to uphold, we may be patient about getting the finished product, but when all customers get is silence for an extended period, then dont go off defending bad business.
