Prototype? Pretty good, if you can get it to work, there isn't any, and will not be any, patches for it, so it's quite a risk to buy it. That's Activision for you, and people think EA is bad..

Mommy & Daddy Bioware will have that DLC for you soon nuff for you to throw back in their faces while crying big sobby tears of "waaahh i want more!"
And if nobody moaned then companies like bio ware, bethesda ect.. would be charging you extortionet prices for rubbish DLC and non moaners like yourself would lap it up so thank you very much Kiddy.

And now I see the thread to the point of people yelling about the delays?
See that's the thing. We're not "yelling about delays". We've known since very early in the thread that it was going to be delayed. That's not the problem, which you and others would understand if you all weren't busy telling us to get over it and shut up. May not have been your exact words, but that's the gist I've gotten from many posts the last week or so.
Our complaint is that "this Holiday season" is almost over without a word in two weeks. I already knew it wouldn't be out for Christmas, and I definitely don't expect to see it in the next week before New Years. My complaint, and many other's, is the lack of communication here. Last we heard the PC version looked set for a Christmas release, so many people with the PC version expected it to be out by now. The 360 version should have followed not long after and the PS3 we already know won't be out till next year. Christmas is over, there's no dlc for even the PC version, and we apparently were not worthy of an update before they went on vacation to let us know it wasn't happening. It's not the delay itself, it's the complete lack of an update to let us know it wasn't coming out. It's really not a difficult concept, or at least it shouldn't be.
Given the choice I'd rather wait 6 months and pay $20 for a 5-6 hour expansion than be nickeled and dimed to death by one hour dlc's. As, I'm sure, would many others in this thread. Thus the posts complaining about the length (which we actually don't know for sure since a dev might get through in 15 minutes what takes a normal person a few hours). And yes some people really like achievements. I do to the extent that I like getting them but I won't avoid buying something for lack of achievements.
My only hope is that we don't have any more of these fiasco's in the future with dlc being announced, then delayed, and then the players ignored by Bioware and berated by other players when they ask for an update after two weeks of silence.

I prefer expansions to tiny dlc's because over the course of a year they cost less for equal or greater amounts of content. I might spend $40 in a year on expansions (assuming 2 are released in a year for $20 each) and get content that is connected, gives you deeper immersion, a better story, and isn't easily memorized to be blown through on a second play. But if I'm paying $5 for an hour long dlc every month, I'm spending $60 for 12 hours worth of content that's not connected in any way, the path through it is memorized the first go round, and subsequent plays might last 30 minutes at most. So yeah if you're looking at short-term than dlc is cheaper, but if you're looking at how much you're spending in a year then expansions are the way to go if you want the same amount of content at a cheaper price. I just get more out of expansions than I do quicky dlc's. Doesn't keep me from buying them, or from enjoying them the first time, they just aren't my favorite.

Perhaps BioWare should sell the Dragon Age franchise to Bethesda Game Studios. It seems that they have no issue in getting DLCs completed, approved, uploaded, and available for purchase. Fallout 3 had 5, count 'em, 5 DLCs in their player's hands without unmet deadlines, disgruntled players, and sub-standard content. If Ostagar is indeed something a noob can play through in an hour, it is hardly worth the time, money and effort. I have seen some promising user created mods that appear to offer more than BioWare's retail DLC!
Lol...hahaha...hhahahahaha....bwahahahahaaha!
Oh..wait...you're serious?
4 out of 5 of those DLCs were the worst content to price ratio EVER.
Anchorage was maybe a 30 minute blowthrough...so were almost all of them. The only one even remotely worth the 10$ pricetag was Point Lookout.
I think we should be grateful that Bioware is focusing on giving us quality DLC for a reasonable price. The only reason they decided to postpone it was to answer some player concerns.
I think the only communication Bethesda had with the community was to tell them how much their mods sucked compared to their glorious DLC.
Now please, instead of acting like an entitled phallus-head, perhaps we should be thanking them for taking the time to meet the community?
Thank you, BioWare! Thanks for not communicating with us for weeks! Thanks for the "Quality" DLC that will take half an hour to complete! Thanks for the timely release of Return To Ostagar! Thanks for meeting your self-imposed Holiday Season deadline! Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, your pestilent customers who have paid your salaries! Thanks for gracing us with your presence in your lowly player forums! Oh yeah...WE HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING EXCEPT "IT WILL BE OUT WHEN IT'S OUT" FOR TWO WEEKS!!!!
THANKS FOR THE LIES, MR. FAIRY-TALE!!!!

As the few intelligent people who've posted here have said, Bio delayed the release to accommodate player requests, and especially seeing as it's a thankless duty for the most part judging by this thread, that's pretty sweet of them. And seeing as accommodating they've been, I'll wager they'll post an update (wait for it...).. when there's something to update.
I'd throw some insult at most of you whiners if it weren't for the fact that I'm the bigger jackass for reading/posting in this thread along with ya. If you have issues with Bio: stop feeding their website activity and don't buy their games.

See if it was a MMO they might use the Blizzard's saying "When its done!" Since this isn't a MMO and their saying Holiday season shouldn't it of came out before or on Christmas not after? If their having problems or bugs and whatnot they should change the holiday season wording to something else!! I love Bioware games always have I just get grr when I get told one thing and it doesn't happen.<_<

I mean, I'm travelling for much of January and have been tempted to buy the new DLC but by the time I get back I'll have a new copy of ME2 and DA:O will be shelved for quite some time.

Tell us when you have played the game through. We want to continue this awesome game thats why we are so persistant.
I have. Three times.
Sigh, o well. I guess that i just dont expect Bioware to go mute when things dont go according to plan. They should keep in contact with us during the good times and the bad.
Did it ever dawn on anyone here that ..this is the holidays...and things slow down production wise at this time of year....
Or did the Devs and their families suddenly become non-humans...shapeshifted into mindless automatons for your benefit?
Real life happens with them too..not just you.
People who produce consumer products know that there is no December Christmas for them. Their Christmas is two months after ours. They celebrate it by sunning themselves on floating recliners at a beachfront Caribbean resort, sipping cocktails, and being fanned by palm leaf wielding resort employees.
Anyone who has ever worked in retail will tell you that Christmas means NOTHING to anyone but the consumer themselves. Everyone DOES have to work like a mindless automaton until it's over. Then they catch their breath and get a chance to enjoy all their hard work.
What all this squabbling and senseless name calling (phallus-head? Really? Bore...) gets down to is that people are simply tired of lies, and broken promises in all aspects of their lives.
They first announced Dragon Age in 2004. Nothing happened for YEARS, so they announced on July 10, 2008, the title was changing to Dragon Age: Origins. This announcement STILL did nothing to put a product in anyone's hands. People were losing interest again....so.....quick, what can we do? Oh! I know! The Dragon Age Character Creator was released on October 13, 2009, allowing players to create a character in advance to actually owning a real game. That will hold them over until we can get them an actual PRODUCT!
Finally it hit's shelves November 2009 (5 years after it was announced) for most users, and December 21st, for the 4 people who play it on their Macs.
For the money they are making, (which you too can research online) they need to work a little harder on delivering on their promises, and a little less on playing professional poker. Unfortunately for us, their track record with being forthcoming about their release dates is not as good as their games.
