I don't understand the people complaining about playing thorugh the game 80 hours again. Did you guys not have automatic epilogue saves or something? That's the purpose of it, so we can play DLC as it comes out even after we beat the game
Why end the game at all, though? I think that is where a lot of the frustration is rooted. If you sacrifice yourself, then an epilogue is a good choice, though; why keep it confined to the party camp? There are lots of ways around the problem that DAO presents, and I think many people question why BioWare would even choose to utilize the epilogue in the way that they did; a castrated state from which to play DLC is not what I was hoping for.
So lets say you don't sacrifice yourself. Why can't I travel back to Redcliffe and finish some side quests?
Again, I think its the fact that the "epilogue" was not though through very well. It seems more like a last minute "yeah, this will let people play DLC but nothing else" type of an effort instead of something more robust and well-thought out.
I, for one, am disappointed in the constraints placed on character in the epilogue, though; I have enough game saves to bring my character back to just before the landsmeet so its not a significant problem. However, I think the consensus is that there are more intuitive and clever ways to make the epilogue more usable instead of a static environment where you can only play DLC.
