Questions about Return to Ostagar? *SPOILERS*

Obviously Calian's armor will be massive, if you've played the game (right when you get to Ostagar with Duncan) or even saw the ad for the DLC, Calian has massive armor.
Any armor on Oghren makes me crack up, just can't take him seriously.
I like to see my party's faces so I don't like the Juggernaut set, especially the helmet. Warden Commander's armor is great, any armor set without a helmet is great IMO. The Grey Warden and Honnleath helms remind me of LOTR with the wings on the sides.
To those who think "Holiday Season" can be extended to New Year's, then that term can be applied to the entire year, 365 days, because there's a holiday pretty much every month (Feb - MLK Day, Mar - St. Pat's Day, Apr - Easter, May - Memorial Day...etc etc). For most people, at least in America, when someone says the holiday season, it means Christmastime.

I believe his armor will be a massive set...sadly *sigh* My poor Mage and Rogue will go naked now...
Which makes the game incredibly interesting/hilarious/awkward if you have the Natural Bodies add-on.
I was really hoping to see it before Christmas, but they said they're tweaking a few things and lowering the price, so there's really no reason for people to **** about it. They did what you clamoured for, and still you're unhappy. Just goes to show that people will complain about any and every thing possible. (Note: This is a general "you," and not directed at the person I quoted.)

I don't have any problems with gamers who complain, because they're the ones that help devs make better games and strengthen the gaming community. To be passive is to accept the status quo, as gamers we should be improving the RPG genre instead of sitting back and doing nothing. There was some idiot on this forum many pages back that said devs shouldn't listen to fans (something along those lines). If that was true, every game would be more like Rogue Warrior.

For all the people who disagree with all the frustration over RTO, we are upset because we were given a time that the game was supposed to be released but it didn't. All we want is for BioWare to be honest with us and just tell us what's going on. If they say RTO will be delayed until summer 2010, most of us will appreciate their response and let RTO go.

You were updated. He said quite clearly that they were revisiting the DLC to fix a few things and lower the price, and would most likely miss their Christmas deadline - which they did.
Also, most consumers are idiots. Letting them dictate what you put in a product is not always a good idea. Taking their feedback and figuring out ways to please them without compromising your vision is a difficult process, and people will scream bloody murder over the most insignificant things. Listening to the knuckle-dragging mouthbreathing fanboys has ruined many a game.

They should listen to their fans yes, but they don't need to do everything their fans say.sdlessar2 wrote...

Just look at WoW, its an amazingly popular game, but Blizzard has stated that it's customer's suggestions don't hold much weight. Leave developing to the experts.

If you really want it, it can be made for your player via toolset if you have the PCversion of the game.

I agree 100% no reason to complain after all theyre doing to it so go back and do another playthrough, or perhaps play another game until it comes out, or maybe its time to leave mother's basement and get some time off of the celophane wrapped couch <---not meant to be offensive just adding some humor

One slight issue with that, granted it doesn't tend to matter so much in single RPGs, if the devs listened to everything the fans whom come on the forums complaining about and tried to implement things, they would no doubt upset other fans whom were happy with the way things were. Granted sometimes the original fans complaining were right, but in other occasions it isn't.
Perfect example is the ongoing debate as to whether the game is too easy or too hard. The devs can't truly fix this situation without upsetting some people most likely.
Games should be made playable for most people with a certain sense of intelligence, not cater for a minority of fans that complain about something.
Am not complaining, just making an observation.
As for RtO, I doubt we seeing that now till the New Year, it ain't the end of the world people. If it were some sort of big expansion that was offering several hours of extra gameplay and stuff, yeah I can understand a bit of frustration, but we know it isn't, so what the big deal if it comes out later?

They weren't tweaking anything. They added achievements (because that's apparently what they got out of people complaining about $5 for one hour of gameplay and a few items), and found a problem in the 360 version that needed to be fixed. Those achievements are what caused the DLC to have to go back through certification. Nothing was being added. Nothing was being changed. They just added code for achievements.

So your saying fixing isnt tweaking? And i didnt mean they were adding to the dlc i meant that they had some fixing to do and they're lowering the price, and also somewhere early on in here when rob said they wouldnt be adding an achievement for this dlc some people were a little upset (not neccesarily angry) all im saying is they are trying to accomodate everyones needs and by doing that everyones getting more angry. I think the only dlc debate worse than this is when people think that "map packs" should be free

Hi everyone. Sorry for not popping in and providing another update sooner. Based on some of the feedback in this thread, we made the decision to revisit Return to Ostagar and make some small improvements, including the addition of a new Ostagar-specific achievement/trophy and a reduction in the price. This has required a patch/title update and some additional testing and certification. This has pushed our dates back and I can confirm that the PS3 version will not arrive until the New Year. For PC and X360, we're still working hard to get it out in time for Christmas but we're not out of the woods quite yet. We'll put out another press release once we're 100% confident of the dates.
Thanks for your patience and I hope you enjoy the adventure once it's finally available.
For Ferelden!
Rob
