Oh em gee. You're missing out! You should definitely play Knights of the Old Republic, it's a classic! I don't think there are Mass Effect demos unfortunately. It truly is a great game, though.

This might pique your interest.

Tell me about it, don't forget to add in, increase the difficulty level, and it is like playing a whole new game in a way. I actually stumbled across a whole new banter between Leliana and Wynne, that made me almost snort chocolate soy milk out my nose. Anyone had the cherries conversation thread yet?

Someone else who drinks chocolate soy milk? Hello, doppelganger.

I have heard the conversation before, the one that always gets me laughing is the Alistair/Oghren one.

  • Oghren: So. With the boss, aye?
  • Alistair: Pardon?
  • Oghren: You and the boss. Rolling your oats.
  • Alistair: I don't know--
  • Oghren: Polishing the footstones.
  • Alistair: --what you're--
  • Oghren: Tapping the midnight still, if you will.
  • Alistair: what are you going on about?
  • Oghren: Forging the moaning statue. Bucking the forbidden horse. Donning the velvet hat.
  • Alistair: Are you just making these up right now?
  • Oghren: Nope. Been saving 'em.

The concern is BioWare's pattern of falsehoods IMO. The Mass Effect claims which also had videos only to be taken out of the game before luanch. The promise that Mass Effect would have lots of DLC to bridge the gap between it and Mass Effect/2. This holiday season promise WITH a 17 day lack of communcation. The problem is not with this forums posters it's with BioWare's silence and lack being able to say what you mean and mean what you say IMO.

Guys, just relax! the DLC is coming and do you really want to blame bioware for not getting it right when you want it? After all they have family and there gearin gup for mass effect 2 so some of the Dragon DLC is helping with mass effects DLC. So pleas relax and just wait for RTO

You are absolutely correct. BioWare is chosing to be silent. It's a policy they do over and over again whenever they cannot deliver stuff which they've promised. It's a dishonest business parctice which will continue until they abandon the hype cycle marketing or until their customers have enough of it. I don't think those events will happen. BioWare believes they can do whatever they want to their loyal customers because most of their customers don't read these forums or internet news related to the game. Of course the media don't report it and won't make an issue of it, because they fear they'll lose the orchestrated scoops.

OH PLEASE. Bioware said this holiday season. It is still the holiday season. And if they are unable to meet the deadline of the holiday season it does not mean they are dishonest. I'm sure you've been late getting ready for a date or going to a party or whatever even though you intended on getting there on time.

It's very easy to pick up the phone and apologize whenver you are late. Don't you do that?

"Amateur Drinking Weekend" What weekend is this and where is it done? Or are you talking about new years? o.o

Indeed.  New Years Eve is when all the Amateur Drinkers come out of the woodwork.  Crazed champagne filled lunatics.  It's crazy.  The streets are filled with insanity.  Best to stay home with a nice pitcher of martinis and some DLC, I say.  ;)

What DLC?

17 days without reply.

Most of us here don't care about the release date. We just want news or maybe just a simple "hello" would do, Bioware.

Most likely making stuff up.

Guess why we are making stuff up? Maybe we are confused by all the available information and updates?

Then what when january one comes and goes? we extend the definition of holiday season? It's only a few days away what odds do you rate the DLC being on time? I'm placing it at 500:1.

All Rob has said about it that I found in a quick scan of his posts is that we can get Cailan's "arms and armor", but he didn't specify what those arms are. Could be just the sword in the pic, or could be more than just that. No one knows for sure. Well, no one outside of Bioware anyway.

I for one is hoping for his right arm cause i'm right handed. Left arm will be cool too. How about a leg or a head? Sure Alistair would want a head to keep him company in camp.

I was really hoping to see it before Christmas, but they said they're tweaking a few things and lowering the price, so there's really no reason for people to **** about it. They did what you clamoured for, and still you're unhappy. Just goes to show that people will complain about any and every thing possible. (Note: This is a general "you," and not directed at the person I quoted.)

I agree 100% no reason to complain after all theyre doing to it so go back and do another playthrough, or perhaps play another game until it comes out, or maybe its time to leave mother's basement and get some time off of the celophane wrapped couch <---not meant to be offensive just adding some humor

They weren't tweaking anything. They added achievements (because that's apparently what they got out of people complaining about $5 for one hour of gameplay and a few items), and found a problem in the 360 version that needed to be fixed. Those achievements are what caused the DLC to have to go back through certification. Nothing was being added. Nothing was being changed. They just added code for achievements.

Everyone who are assuming now that delay = they are tweaking it for the better / more content are going to be sorely disappointed.

I suppose an extra right arm could come in handy if you broke yours...  I don't think the legs would be very useful though. Besides the mabari is almost big enough to ride into battle so it could be used as a makeshift-horse, or I suppose you could always order Sten to carry you into battle. I'm not sure how well it would go over, but hey it's worth a shot. He did give his word after all and what better way to keep it then giving you a piggy-back ride right up to the archdemon. :P

The head though.. Now that's just creepy.

It's the 29th and we still haven't returned to Ostagar. Bioware letting Sony hold up the release for everyone is a major PR blunder.

Heck no, I will show up 20 minutes late to an hour and not care....why should I??? Maybe I got stuck in traffic, maybe I had to do something else before showing up. People UNDERSTAND...then again, My family is pretty understanding.

My bet is on the cockroaches as well..they can't have temper tantrums like a 2 year old...unlike some people on this thread.

Edit: Not to offend you or anything, not to you..just saying.

Kinda disappointed here because I'm curious how much time they'll need to create a -let's say- 20 hours expansion. There is a "crisis" with an 1 hour DLC already.

assuming that 1/4 of the length of the overall game that was delayed by 5 years. I say it will be delayed at least a year?

Bioware can't talk at the moment. They're too busy with Mass Effect 2 hype and holidays. This forum will likely be amalgamated with the Mass Effect forums some time in the New Year, in preparation for ME2 - and then Dragon Age will fall in to back ground noise. "Two years of DLC"? Yeah... ah... no.

Mass Effect 2 should see Bioware at the forefront of the gaming scene well into 2010, and then SWTOR will start to ramp up mid-year, launching late 2010; and once that happens, all efforts will be on "keeping up with the Joneses" so as to speak, with their MMO.

It was good while it lasted, guys, but after Return to Ostagar comes out I wouldn't be holding your breath.

ya i know its getting to the point where Bioware could announce that they will pay you 20$ to download it but have to set it back another week and people would get even more mad, i mean seriously

You got a point there and bioware should listen. They could have easily charged more for a on time DLC and had happy people. Now even the price lowering is being ignored people just focus on it being late.

In this case we are not talking about a minor delay. BioWare didn't appear at all.
