keep in mind, no matter how good a company is, a company will always start out with the goal to make money. the whole indrustry is aimed at making money. not providing free entertainment at thier loss.

With the hue and cry on this thread it is easy to forget this DLC is about 1 hour long compared to DAO which is over 60 hours
Folks if RTO were released today it will be over before you bat an eyelid. No one should forget that while 'anticipating'

The retail sector here barely breaks stride during the Christmas/New Year period - and in fact go into overdrive with targeted sales and promotions. That's free market capitalism for you.
Consumers that purchase goods or services from a business or individual have the reasonable expectation that the goods or service will be provided within an acceptable timeframe. This is typically stipulated within some form of contract or agreement between the buyer or seller.
This applies equally to purchases made online as well, although trying to remedy disagreements - especially international disputes - can prove time-consuming and difficult.
I have no personal beef with BioWare. I have purchased their games, enjoyed them, and have purchased additional content when it became available. I'm eagerly waiting for Mass Effect 2 like many others.
Is it bad form for BioWare not to keep paying consumers informed of any issues affecting the release of Return to Ostagar DLC? I believe so. Others may disagree about this, some will be more vocal about how detrimental this is.
Do I have the right as a consumer to be irritated by not having received a product that was paid for? Yes - and no. While many of us have paid in advance for the Return to Ostagar DLC, none of us signed a contract or agreement with BioWare that they would supply Return to Ostagar DLC on a specified date and time during the Holiday Season.
Return to Ostagar DLC will come, when it comes. Be irritated or be consolatory - I doubt either stance will affect the eventual release date.

Blame the console/playstation users...they delaying us. Just one reason to have made it a PC release only imo.

There you go a silver lining, eve though it's a rather terrible thought to think about waiting potentially inyo the middle of next year or later. But I doubt that'll happen.
It will be funny when people get their panties in a bunch about this reply and freak out.

I hate to correct a mod, but you are incorrect. The 2000's started on January 1st, 2000. You forget that zero is counted as a year. Kind of like we're in the 21st century even though it's 2009. Zero was counted as the first century.Torias wrote..

The original poster was correct in saying the decade ends on January 1st, 2010.
To be on topic, I say quit whining. We should be happy BioWare is even making download content for us. I'd rather it be a week even a month late if it means less/no bugs and a more complete experience. People take everything for granted these days.
For those complaining about paying? Then don't pay for it. You're not being forced. Don't want to pay the fee? Don't buy it. Simple as that. Quit whining and get a job. Five dollars really isn't that much and can be made in less than an hours work. Interesting how that works; you engage in less than an hour of your time at work to earn the $5 for the DLC. You get an hour or more's worth of enjoyment out of aforementioned DLC. As far as time is concerned, you just made a profit.
Logic cannot be argued. Don't even attempt to do so as you will fail miserably.

Yeah, no.
The decade we are in started on January 1st, 2001
The 21st century started on January 1st, 2001.
The 3rd millenium started on January 1st, 2001.
Most people don't like that fact since they are seduced by sexy numbers (2000 is sexier than 2001, 2010 is sexier than 2011).

Torias is right the actual millinium did not start untill January 1st 2001 according to the actual calander's time line and the Myan calander which is more accurate than our's. That's why companies were worried even after all the computer upgrading for the the year 2000. They also worried since 2001 was the actual start that the computers could have froze up then as well.Torias wrote...

I agreed with you so much!! I've allways been a PC fun, and I really hate to see good titles split beetween pc/xbox/ps3 etc.
I remembere I waited so soong to play Jade empire because PC edition was released centuries after the xbox edition. When I heard about Mass Effect I decided to buy an Xbox360 because I didn't want to wait too long to play that title, and 2 days after I bought the console, they announced the issued of mass effect PC edition
Now I still haven't decided if to buy Mass effect2 for PC or for Xbox. I'd prefere for PC, but all my saves and backgrounf from Mass Effect 1 are on my xbox.
Anyway what I mean is..... If games were released only for one platform, I suppose it would be better for player community

That was pure scaremongering. No one I know (and I work with PC's daily) updated or did anything to the computers (myself included) and everything ran just fine.
Don't buy into the hype

I have nothing against consoles perse....but the majority of the games released for them are for either:
A. Kids
B. Women
C. Casual gamers.
This is fact and can't be argued with. The majority of serious games that require thought, time, effort and can't be completed in a weekend (unless your super human) come out on the PC.
The old argument of which is better is irrelevent (and my own opinions don't matter), they each have their own market and are very good at catering to said market. Driving sims and fighting games are generally better on the console (though i wonder how many console users have played GTR2 with a wheel and pedals? - blows away anything the console has)...but I digress.
This as a serious RPG should have been PC only (and most people have both a pc and a consle these days so it really didnt need porting).
I replied in a thread earlier about people moaning how bad the xbox version is, well they should be grateful it was even ported to the console (re above argument)...and now due to console power on a strictly pc only game (times gone by, showing my age)...we all have a delay now.
