This is my point Bioware...the average person does not even go to these forums and this could be their feeling too. I would venture a later release than announced will hurt the profit margin, successful company or not.
Get your ME2 team to learn from this..but I am sure someone working for the CFO at EA is already on it.

Not all mods are amateur work, if you had any experience using or making them you would know they can often be quite ambitious projects that require several people with professional skills in various fields, or at the very least a high level of knowledge. I would own the PC version right now if I hadn't experienced hours of hell getting the Character Creator running on a PC that is more than able to handle the game....over the recomended specs. Besides with 2 years of official DLC planned what do you calculate are your odds of not having to remove this mod? As for it not being amateur content....don't be ridiculous....if they were good enough to work as developers they'd have a job and they'd be making official stuff for some game or another.....besides goofy looking mage monks don't fit in DAO as the Circle and the Chantry don't mix.....either you are a Mage or a monk but not both. Huge error right there.....and you'd try to call this professional content? Don't be ridiculous.

Plus DLC is a different market from a new game. You don't go hey should I buy a new game or a DLC for a game i don't got. Hmmmmm....

It's only competing in the sense of we gamers having limited money. But who are we kidding we're getting the DLC regardless. We'll just skip meals on the 5th to finance the DLC.

They are not whinning cause they feel they are entitled to the price drop. Just like we were not whinning cause we feel like we were entitled to frequent updates.

The whinning is cause of the fact that bioware promised both and they were tardy in keeping promises.

I really hope the work harder at consumer expectations and figuring out how not to make false promises. Or as my mom likes to say "Don't let you mouth write checks your S can't cash!"

It's a classic case of buyer's remorse/fanboi mentality. Oh, mods? Who would want the ability to customize additional content for their game? Or have an entire community of people working together to fix problems in the game and provide more customization options? Besides, it will set your computer on fire and not function with any DLC!! Yeaaaaah... whatever.

Trenton is all over this board singing the superiority of the 360 version ::chuckles:: He once even called the PC version a watered down port of the console version I'm not assuming anything, although I'm possibly taking into consideration posts you haven't read.



I'm not a format loyalist to any company, I enjoy console gaming as well but there's really no argument for the PC version being worse than the console version. It's especially backwards and dumb to try and argue that mods are a detriment to a game and not a check in the plus column.

Glad too see there is a release date now, and update on info. The price remaining the same is fine with me as long as it's worth it. I wish they could have done this several day ago it probably would have lower the pages to this thread about 90+. But good work I will be looking forward to the DLC when it is launched.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but to that specific point... clearly, alot of people would. Any of the Devil May Cry games, alot of console games in general, are 50 bucks and are only 10, 15 hours if you're lucky.

5 is still pretty cheap. It's not really fair to just call it one hour, because it is playable in different ways with different outcomes (one hopes) and adds content to any further playthrough you ever start in the game. If you're just gonna play it once, maybe the value is not so high. But if you are a fan of the game and you play it alot, 5 bucks is pretty cheap for new content. I think.

Most of the time I like to game on the xbox but for this game *sucks that I found out after and had to rebuy everything* the PC wins unless your PC is low par. Give me one good reason that the PS3 version or Xbox 360 is > PC.

I actually tolerated the no dedicated servers on the PC until it seemed they created glitch after glich.  Now I am pissed about the glitches, and no dedi servers.  Atleast with dedi servers, admins could remove them.  :/

I am kind of dissappointed though that Return to Ostagar isn't coming out until next week too.  As far I am conserned "holiday season" ends on Jan 1st.  Judging by its price tag though, its either a very generous price, or there is minimal content, like just the new gear on the advertisement and maybe a 30 min playthrough like Warden's Keep, if that.

I am still going to get it because the game is awesome.  Also, it is a good sign to Devs that fans actually want to play the game even more.  They are not happy with 1 additional hour but want more and are excited either way.

But are you really going to pay another 50 bucks for 10 more DLC patches with 10 hours total playtime?

As the dev said, it is our choice at the end of the day.

Other than the fact that using the amount of hours played being an extremely poor measurement of enjoyment?

The point is I rather have 2 hours of enjoyment than 1 hour (or even as little as 30 minutes as stated)

Anyway, I am excited for the patch and will judge it after it is released.  If it seems "to little" I won't get future DLC, everyone's happy.
