at least we are getting dlc, i'm grateful for that... besides, if the content sucks, you can read reviews about it before making the purchase on impulse.

One, sony certification process takes a little longer than MS, and two, the people running the ps store are on vacation and won't have new content until january 7th, which means they'll be a week "behind schedule" at the moment... how is this bioware's fault?

Well, great timing Bioware. I am juist having my second week of holidays, as most people around, yet you wisely decided to make a release when everybody is back in work or at school

So this Return to Ostagar cost $4.99 for about and hour worth of playtime.
Let's say the original Dragon age origins is on average 60 hours long and it cost $60, that is $1 per hour.
This DLC cost 5 times as much, hence it is highway robbery.

What happened to the price drop down to $4? You're really charging $5 for an hours worth of content?

I for one am excited about this content, but of course perhaps it is because i am currently wound up in the story, emotional investment if you will. ( This coming from a girl who has her elven characters on hold until i can finish one complete round with full options as a human noble) I cannot say whether the pack, (coming in under an hour or not) is worth the price yet as i have not yet played it through. It could very well be absolutely perfect if it provides some story relevant payoff. I withhold judgement on that until i play it through.
That said, as much as i *love* the armour, I think its just a mite creepy to think you are wearing a dead mans clothes, especially ones you cared about. Sure of course they are incredibly attractive but given the amount of reminiscing you hear from certain "friends" in the game, you would think that the remains would be a bit more holy-grail-ish than " Wow, uber-loot I am teh sexay now-ish" Perhaps I am thinking more *inside* the game than with my head however.... that and i am normally rogue although mage is very cool so far too
DLC is nice to have available. i also appreciate the games full willingness to automatically provide toolkits that allow us to expand our own experience of the game. I was a skinner and model creator in my other RL playable characters lives *snickers* so that is just a fabulous bonus for me to be able to play and incorporate that into such a fabulous game. One might think they are giving people the tools that take away the *necessity* of DLC but I think that is marketings job of making you *think* they are necessary to your experience, but not the purpose of them by existing in your game. That made more sense in my head than on the screen here though however![]()
I would adore expansions, a LOT as I love this game! It's amazing, which is why we are all clamoring for more of courseI think that the *scale* of the story should determine dlc packs vs expansion. dlc content packs should happen within the same general "era" with same characters etc. What tears at me is in saying that it makes it less likely that the companions that I personally have come to enjoy being a part of *my* story would be around 100+ years later. The workaround of course is having the main characters in the expansions be the relatives ( children or grandchildren or whatnot) but maintain the similar appearance and personality traits.
I could care less about the armour given my pcs attachment to those she has "lost". I'm saying this despite wanting Duncan to be a playable character as a mod - or a party member! $5 for another part of the story may be perfect, i will wait to see ---
--- finding Duncan is alive however.... I am sure Bioware would not like to guess how much i would pay for *that*

The point is I rather have 2 hours of enjoyment than 1 hour (or even as little as 30 minutes as stated)

Well i would rather have Claudia Black herself included with the purchase...
Yes. I dont think anyone here wouldn't want more playing time (as long as it is well done). More content for less money is not something i would complain about. But to be honest. RtO is at the most 1$ overpriced, and 1$ is not that much to complain about.
I cant see how they are going to pay all developer/testers/for the marketing and distributers and every one else that cost money while developing DLC and then get a decent profit for the company, if they are selling it for 1-2$ like some (not you ) have said they should. Not everyone buys DLC. I would be surprised if the DLC-crowd exceeds 5% of the entire Dragon Age consumer base, so it will cost more for less compared the the main game. And remember, even if they sell 5 million copies of this DLC for 1$, they would still lose money if the cost of selling one copy is 1.1$

come on, this $ per hour garbage should stop, many great games offer only 5-10 hours of gameplay, mmos on the other hand would be way to cheap by this reasoning.

Next time, don't announce a release date unless it's final, and don't announce a "price being lowered" unless it's final. Also, put less spoilers in the DLC descriptions.
That's always the intent. Best laid plans and all.![]()

And while you develop the patches, work on an option to hide the DLC sellers.
We are looking into what we can do for these. There are other things that we feel need addressing with DLC and delivery that are taking priority at the moment.mycleverID wrote...
I think the only drawback to the delay is the decrease is revenue that you'll see from the DLC package. Its too bad that BW will miss out on the most prominent vacation week in the US.
Yes, it is definitely going to have a big impact and was a blow for the team - we really wanted this out for fans before xmas. But the plan is always to keep an eye on the longer term view - it does us no good to cut corners short term.Yes. The plan is to have the TU for X360 and PS3 update on the day of release of the DLC.JanHenDAO wrote...
Will the Xbox 360 title update available on the same day as RtO or earlier?

No drop, a 5-spot is the price of admission. There wasn't much of an explination, unless I missed it.
