Well, they were on Holiday break. Seriously, why the hell would one expect an update during the holidays? Biowarians deserve a Christmas to you know.
Perhaps because they were working up until they went on Christmas vacation and knew their last working day that it wasn't coming out during the holidays as advertised? Could've just as easily posted one before everyone left for the holidays and it would have completely avoided most of the posts asking for one.

Not to bash on the price not being lowered as intended, but I am wondering if we can find out the exact reasons why it was was lowered, and then overturned and raised again? I understand extended development time, based on bugs, and if that's the case, great. But personally I'm always interested in the why when things like these happen so we can try and get a clearer look at the overall picture.
Your kidding right? After reading what's in this thread and you think they should provide that information to this group? Yeah, I knew you were just kidding......................

No, no they don't.
Yes they do. Ever hear of a little something called "The Shivering Isles?"
Or maybe one of the 5 Fallout 3 expansion packs?

But they also had about a half a dozen DLC's that they sold individually at first and than turned around and lumped them all on a DVD and sold them in a Retail store package (Double Dipping in my book)!

now bioware the dlc pointless thing should stop. and it time to make a big expansion pack. i think u guy have alot to learn from bethesda.
Horse armor, The Wizard's\\rogues\\vampires tower thing, Mehrune's Razor????
Sure Knights of the Nine and shivering isle were fun but it took them a while to get there and only SI was a true expansion the rest were just tiny addons that at first were way overpriced. What i think we all should learn for Bethesda is that you can still release a kick ass expansion while working on tidbit DLC.

Exactly and I think that is what they are trying to do. But the problem stems from trying to be the nice guy! BioWare saw people complaining and for what ever reason (Holidays, feel good over DAO) they buckled and announced an up coming DLC and than put it in a thread. If they didn't play the nice guy, everyone would still be belly aching, but it wouldn't be focused, like this is. Instead, it would have been spread out and no one would have really caught it, except a few.
So what's the rub? Don't be nice in forums!

My prediction for 2010. There will be NO announcements of any sort in regards to anything at all. Meaning we as a collective body will NOT receive any of the following in 2010 from the hosts of this forum; Thingamajigs, DLC's, Whatchamacallits, Patches, Thingamabobs, Expansions, Doohickeys, and anyother Doodad I missed! So when the collective starts to complain and bellyache (and they WILL) that we (The collective) are NOT receiving any communications from the Mother Ship, well, we the collective can always refer back to the year 2009 and point to this thread of 178+ pages, which will continue to grow exponentially until Jan 5th!

The film is The Ten Commandments!!!
So, can I request Bioware's initial planned sales of the DLC when it was thought it was coming out at the original release date?
I also would love to know its actual sales at the end of January.
I would think the dollar did not come off because some Finance Officer said, "Um, we need that dollar to make up for how many less we will sell with it coming out late, or some other bean counting reason...once again a gaff in communication from Bioware.
Lessons learned:
1. Don't announce hard dates on DLCs especially if there could still be possible snags.
2. Have more DLCs finished before initial game launch that are ready to go live like WK.
3. Cut off Sony (as they have done to other formats) - the whole world should just cut off Sony. Squeeze them out of the gaming picture for the betterment of the industry. I play PC games, but all I ever hear is the hassles from Sony, with the only positive being the power of the console...I seriously do not think my experience would be better on a PS3 enough to put up with the hassle for dealing with Sony. Sony has titles they won't port...why should others play nice with them?
4. Make sexier mage armor. Sorry, had to throw that in.

I'm just happy they responded with a date for release. That was "my" only gripe. Almost 200 pages of complaining and most of it was revolving around nothing more than asking a simple question on when something is coming out
Thanks for the update guys! RAR

DLC is nothing but a scam.
So this Return to Ostagar cost $4.99 for about and hour worth of playtime.
Let's say the original Dragon age origins is on average 60 hours long and it cost $60, that is $1 per hour.
This DLC cost 5 times as much, hence it is highway robbery.
I absolutely hate DLC, it is the most pointless garbage invented and a money grab.
Either make FULL expansions for many hours of game play or start working on a sequel.
I love Bioware, but this has got to stop, it is starting to tarnish their reputation soon.
Vote with your wallet. No company will do something that's not profitable. Many people don't realise when they call something a scam that there exists more than enough people that want the dlc and think it's value for money or even exceeds their expectations (otherwise they won't pay). I for one like DLC versus expansions and think that micro transactions are a smart marketing move. Maybe not so good for consumers cause we have to fight our urge to end up spending more cause we're buying something cheap. Don't forget they didn't make the DLC compulsory or secretly charge to your credit card AFTER you did the quest or something so it's not a scam.
Other than pyramid schemes and network marketing schemes that are pyramid scheme in disguise, which are persecuted by the law, very few other commercial transactions are considered scams. Unless maybe if they didn't tell you what u were paying for or that you were paying.
It won't tarnish their reputation because you know that for every one person who thinks DLC is a scam there is at least 1 that thinks it's awesome. Otherwise DLC's won't make money and it will die out on his own.
In summary vote with your wallet. Be careful what you call a scam. Not nice to say things that make you sound silly.

Things like releasing buggy games and waiting for the modding community to release mods that make the game work? I kid of course, bathesda games have never crashed on me
