wow finally we get a release date...and i just browsed the posts, and still the whining goes on..amazing...I'm just always floored at how short sighted and impatient peeps are..i need to laugh at this..

hmm maybe the shippers father will die in an accident and delay the release date a day..ohh the horror, a full day later...who died?..ohh who cares right..lol

Are you sure you're reading whinning about Bioware not releasing an update? Cause that was what the main whinning was about. You sure? Very Sure?

The whinning about playstation releasing later is few and far between to be honest. Were you expecting zero whinning?

How would you with your long sighted view react to this? Oh cool delays! Delays are good in the long run?

Why curse the shippers father to die? For comedic effect? Cause I am not sure which medium this kind of humour will work in. Maybe standup comedy in one of those clubs the comedians pay to perform?

Yeah who cares? You definitely didn't care enough to make a post.

Oh wait.

Next time, don't announce a release date unless it's final, and don't announce a "price being lowered" unless it's final. Also, put less spoilers in the DLC descriptions.

That's always the intent. Best laid plans and all. ;)

And while you develop the patches, work on an option to hide the DLC sellers.

We are looking into what we can do for these.  There are other things that we feel need addressing with DLC  and delivery that are taking priority at the moment.

I think the only drawback to the delay is the decrease is revenue that you'll see from the DLC package.  Its too bad that BW will miss out on the most prominent vacation week in the US.

Yes, it is definitely going to have a big impact and was a blow for the team - we really wanted this out for fans before xmas.  But the plan is always to keep an eye on the longer term view - it does us no good to cut corners short term.

Will the Xbox 360 title update available on the same day as RtO or earlier?

Yes.  The plan is to have the TU for X360 and PS3 update on the day of release of the DLC.

This response by Melo sold the DLC to me. BIOWARE YOU SHOULD PAY THIS MAN MORE.:wizard:

Yeah and sack torias. Even at free he's a little pricey to hire

Wait.

What happened to the price drop down to $4? You're really charging $5 for an hours worth of content?

No drop, a 5-spot is the price of admission.  There wasn't much of an explination, unless I missed it.

Yeah.  I want an explanation, since apparently feedback from the community was the initial inspiration for the price cut.  What happened?

My guess is that EA said no :) Business wise they didn't feel that a drop of $1 would increase the volume by any noticeable amount. So the profits would be directly hit. You only have two types of people maybe. Those that already decided to buy the DLC and those that wouldn't buy it even if u dropped by $2. So why earn less right?

I'm not really a forum type (havn't been for years anyway).. So I won't really be back to read your responses.. regardless, I wanted you all to know that the average game developer doesn't give a #%# what forum whiners or even suckups think. The majority of the purchasers of this game and it's DLC (and hence the target audience) probably havn't ever even been to this site and won't care until a friend or their updater tells them a new DLC is out. You complainers and speculators are part of such a tiny (although loyal, proprs for that) fanbase that this forum is honestly more put here to satisfy your insatiable need to complain rather than to actually give a %#% about what you have to say.. Just a FYI.

I know you all hate to hear it.. and I'll be flamed.. But I won't be checking back so I don't care.. I'm just tryng to talk some sense into you.. Be patient like the rest of the world, this isn't worth the time spent debating.. I love the game, and I just came here (to the website) to see if any updates were coming up (and I was hoping to find player made content, but no real luck there) and frankly I'm pleasantly suprised to find one coming soon.. I honestly didn't know/care whether one came out, doesn't make a huge difference to me.. but then I don't waste my life on forums so I suppose maybe your lives are devoid of excitement.. I wouldn't of wasted my time.. but I'm drunk and in a **** mood because of RL stuff so you get to deal with me. (lucky you)

Anyway, I appreciate the game as much as you guys do, and I appreciate your enthusiasm.. but seriously, no one cares at all what your typing on your computer on a forum topic for a 2 hour max game play DLC.. Least of all a company with a much broader target audince (yes your the most vocal, but your actually a minority no one cares about) Your wasting your time.. go fishing or something. Peace.

I actually hope for a release with more than 1 hour of content. The right length for DLC should be along the lines of what Bethesda has made for Fallout 3

I am willing to wait longer and pay more for releases that are not so lean

It's always the people in which the situation fits perfectly to their liking (in this case the ones who like throwing away money while making bad comparisons, and the ones who probably do nothing with their lives so jan. 5 doesn't affect them) who come to this forum to tell us to stop complaining.

And poor f*cks that live with their grandmothers that do the complaining

i have something to say to you first off are you so poor you cant pay 5 dollars o wait no your not because your on the internet posting comments and you have bout the game that was 60 dollars and now your pissed of about paying 5 dollars and if you really cant afford 5 dollars you should turn your internet of sell your video games and computers and go live in a homeless shelter also the people that say its only an hour long do you know how long it takes them to make a 1 hour long dlc it takes them a pretty long time they need voice actors designers and so on also they gota make the armor look nice make sure theres no bugs it takes them a long time to make these so to all the people complaining shut the hell up

That is not the point, the fact that you are even gloating about spending 5 dollars is sad.  Would you pay $5 for 10 minutes of content?  No?  Why not are you cheap?

I am sure many suckers here would pay 20 dollars for 10 minutes of content, I really do.  But we as consumers need to put some sort of control on this new slant in gaming the famous "DLC".  If you do DLC correct it is amazing, if you make a patch with 30 minutes worth of content it will backfire.  Not only tarnish all DLC in the future but tarnish the image of the company.

Warden's Keep was 7 bucks, this is 5.  There is a reason for the drop.

I realize companies have to make profit and I also realize BioWare might not be in the green with DLC for $5 bucks.  But the point is the actual content not the price.

Release an expansion pack with great content and no one will QQ about spending 30, 40 or even 50 bucks on it.

We aren't paying for 10 minutes worth of content, we're paying for an hour and hours worth of future playthroughs, sorry but it isn't that outrageous.  Trust me if BW released a 10min DLC we would be pissed too.

I would prefer it if BW backed off the DLCs and made us a full-fledged expansion though, and I'm sure most people here agree.

do we know for a fact its an hour/hour+ of gameplay? or are we going on their word? Just because they say its an hour doesnt mean it actually is :)

Different people play at different rates. I mean the first 2 DLC Warden and Stone where like 20 min each if that.

It's not definitively an hour, we shall just have to wait and see.  I'm not going to sit there with a stopwatch and time myself though, my value(or lack thereof) will be measured in enjoyement factor, not time played.  Then I'll go back to really getting my moneys worth and watching paint dry for free!

the game play length is for the average user, it may be longer if you give two cents about dialogue and story, shorter if you just wish to rush to the loot and fighting. I feel the ones that revel in the story and emotions of the moments will probably get the most out of it. it all depends on what type you are i guess, this is just my observation, but I would guess that most of the people complaining about length are the ones that are more focused on the action aspects of the game, feeling they are getting gypped of combat by such a small dlc, and that we who are interested in the characters themselves, thier stories, thier reactions to things are the ones eagerly awaiting it. now the middle of the road players, the ones who will take note of the character development ( but not revel in it) as well as those that like a nice little bit of fighting to go with it, are the 1 hour demographic.

Wow, is all i pretty much have to say. This thread is useless and most of you people need to have their head cut off by Sten. Alot of people are nothing but whiney Logaines, complaing about 1 or 2 dollar price difference of what they THOUGHT the new content would be charged for. This is a beautifully done game and so those that want more will buy and those that wont just wont. But there shouldnt be so much hate, critical attitude and speculation about more content for a game you like. Just be thankful this game is not owned by Activision, who treates their customers like crap. Bioware charging 4-5 bucks here and there for new content is alot better than say taking a 9+ years to make a sequel (Diablo 3), or putting out a half-assed game like Hellgate London. Bioware, you doing a banged up job and keep up the good work.

Is it me or is the DLC a huge dissappointment when viewed in the context of the whole game?

I like to take my time and do lots of sidequests and I'm 80 hours in with 28% of the game complete. I got the stone prisoner free and paid for the wardens keep they lasted 1 or 2 hours each and gave away strong items/accessories for hardly any effort - wish I hadn't of bothered and will not be partaking this time round. I suggest people stick with the content in the main game which is enourmous.

I realy don't care much about the length, it would still be disapointing if there isn't much to ofer beside content(quest and level) and the armor, the other 2 dlcs are nice because you get something that lasts for the entire game(new abilites, storage and a companion), well maybe at least some interesting lore beside the quest for ostagar. anyway I prefer a bunch of dlcs which introduce something for the rest of a playthrough and maybe one real expansion till dao2 over some hours of quests which offer nothing but playtime. And fallout 3 would have been better with less dlcs and serious bugfixing instead ,e.g. armor penetration was still not working at all the last time i checked.

Excuse me for my bad English.
Rob Bartel from BioWare said that the price of DLC Return to Ostagar would reduced because many fans had reacted to the initial price saying it was too expensive. Finally, Fernando Melo, of Bioware also tells us that the price will not be changed. I have the unpleasant impression that:
1 - Bioware is a crook
2 - they take us for pigeons

After that Bioware has sold part of the game+ DLC instead of a full game. Now the ads are false then no question that I buy this DLC

In my opinion the decision not to reduce the price fits more to EA than Bioware. It seems to me that Bioware wants to lower it but EA doesn't allow it.

It is with Bioware you buy the DLC not from EA. So no, I don't think EA is playing a role in this.
