So any word on when this will become active on the 5th? like around 3:00pm EST?

no one knows. xbl usually updates early in the day, ps store updates at night between 6pm to as late as almost early evening of the following day (eastern time, which i think its one of the most stupid strategies in the industry, plus RtO won't be out on the ps3 that day), don't know about pc. anyways, as an owner of DA:O for the ps3 i'm probably the last person to answer that question... even though i also own a 360, i only use it just for 360 exclusives.

Any word on the stats and set bonus of King Caelan's armor? I am eager to know if it will replace Warden Commander's Armor as my favorite set.

Wtf is wrong with people like you? It's a single player game. If you don't like it, don't use it, simple as that.

I can't seem to find the info but I came here to find out if they were going to release a patch to fix the crazy bugs with the endings before this thing came out? I don't really want to start a new game yet until, unlike my last two, the endings make sense. (Unless there's a fix I haven't found yet.)

[omitted details because of spoilers]

Needless to say, though, they were fubar here and there.

Most people would spend 8-12 dollars on a cup of coffee that lasts them 10 minutes...and they complain about a DLC...wow....as for the movies...lol people don't think about that either. It will never stop the petty fighting though.

No they don't. I pay 2.50 for coffee, and 5bucks at most @ starbucks.

I LOVE the DLC model. Personally, I'd
happily pay £5 a month for episodic DA content. I've not got much else
to say on the matter, just wanted to make my mark so BW/EA see that not
everyone is in some kind of thrifty time warp where £5 is a significant
amount of money, and nobody understands the costs associated with
making quality software. Testing cost alone over three platforms (not
to mention PC with it's enormous range of hardware configurations) will
be pretty high, not to mention dev cost, infrastructure overheads,
admin costs, VA, etc.

This isn't called episodic content. This is called rip-off. Episodic content = GTA IV Dlc.

I agree. The level glitch only affects the player if you decide to exploit it. If you don't like it, don't do it.

Its not like there are other players in the game taking advantage over you by using the glitch. Just ignore it.

There are several references throughout the game about how anything overrun by the darkspawn tends to become tainted/spoiled. How is it that once Ostagar was overrun that King Cailan's armor would NOT be corrupted/fouled/spoiled/ruined?

GTA IV isn't really episodic. All three stories are about three completely different sets of people.

Oh, nvm. I managed to track down that the patch does come with RTO. Well, I hope it's a free download released alongside RTO...but I'll assume that's the case.

I would think only living things would be corrupted. Not suits of armor. At least not in this game. I don't recall any such a thing as cursed items in the game.

The game will prompt you to download the patch when you start the game while connected to Xbox Live, yes. No RTO needed.

And I spend about 2 bucks for 4 people in the house that drink coffee...and I put my own things on it (Whipped Cream, drizzle carmel, etc)...that is about 8 bucks at a Starbucks...last time I checked at the mall. Still, you spend 2.50 for a cup of coffee or go to McDonalds or some fast food resturant and buy something there and you complain about a 5 dollar DLC...I don't  get it.

The reasoning for complaints, I think, is due to a feeling of non-completion.

The people who complain liken it to cars being sold without seats or steering wheels - It's more like cars being sold without steroes, window flags and spoilers.

I was just reading through the last few pages of this thread and had a realization. This thread is like the Golden City in the game. We had the options to use it for good intentions (ie no griping) and now because we have griped, the maker (ie Chris and Rob and others) have abandoned us to our fates.

So all those people that complain, I hope you get dragged under the ground to become darkspawn! hehehehe

Why, yes, when I spend 40 hours on an RPG and every ending is completely fubar I may complain.

Image IPB

I liked a lot of Dragon Age more than I expected.  But...really I just want the darn thing to be patched.  It's a hot mess.  I love dialog trees and the battle system is much better than Mass Effect's, back to KotR (a game I enjoyed backwards and forwards) but refined.  My initial assumption of some pretty ugly "real is brown" is correct.  Real is apparently really, really brown.  Yeah yeah, lack of radiosity, etc.  But when given the choice I prefer WoW to desaturation.

Dialog trees are great!  Love them.  Adore them.  Keeps me entertained for hours, really.  Which makes it all the more frustrating that my choices don't pay off because the game can't keep track of who the ruler of Fereldan currently is, what my gender is, or who my character's dating, among other glitches.

So. yeah, I complain.  I'll probably still buy the extra content for more dialog trees.  They're so addictive...but I don't think it's much to ask that the product work, first, or that I have something to look at.  Honestly the dungeon from The Stone Prisoner is heads above any other zone in the game in terms of lighting and color so it's not like I don't have hope that the addons will be neither dingy nor glitchy!

the only discrepancies I have had with this game, are the odd load fails, some dialogue messing up, or not being present, but being a long time gamer on PC from the mid 90's on the PC and in the last 3-4 years on xbox, I am more concerned about story, substance and replayability than first round perfection.

Callie, I didn't mean complain as in legitimate complaints, more the continous whinging on here. :-)

Thought I may as well post here...
If you have already finished the game and you want to play DLC, how do you do it? I can't seem to find an option anywhere :/
