I find it odd that people are comparing the price of DLC to the cost of the game (in a dollars per minute fashion). Dragon Age is a very long game, and certainly not the industry standard. It also has extremely high replay value, so the original game is unusually good value for the money. It's definitely worth more than $50-$60, but that's just what new games go for.
So because Dragon Age is a very good game and "unusually" better than other releases we should hold it to a poor standard? Uh No. If a new game breaks the mold and gives players more than they expected then that game should be used a frame of reference when comparing DLC or other games. That way the developer will keep pushing themsevles to new levels and create better and better games.
To be honest, the fact that really bad games have been coming out lately is a new phenomenon - in the early to mid 2000s Dragon Age's length would have been considered normal.

1. Dead Space, 7-8 hours, 50USD
2. Dragon Age, 50 hours, 50USD
3. Final Fantasy XIII, lots of hours, 50-60USD
4. Any cRPG, lots of hours, price the same as 7 hour shooter
Do you get it or should I spell it for you? You get way more of Dragon Age for the same amount paid than you would from any other single player game, that's the nature of RPGs. Don't whine then and compare the price of DLC. If you must think of it like that:
1. Initial game = major discount
2. DLC = proper pricing

I am really losing confidence in Bioware!
I have supported and bought every game you have made, and this is the worst supported game you have ever made! Have anything with being Part of EA now? Something you promised everyone that would never happem? Or just becoming another EA Drone, throw a game out, charge for content, leave it broke, move on to next version/game that ends up being worse then the one before???
Thank you for not Listening, apreciate it

guys dont be ridiculous they dont force you to buy it,its optional so stop whining all the time and enjoy the game!
I think you're missing the point, money isnt an issue here - im swedish and my games cost 80+ dollars here and I have with 360+ps3 around 60+ games thats 60x80=4800 dollar. just on games alone, and that doesnt add in the my 2 hdtv's and consoles.
No, the issue here is the content itself, it sounds as bioware is lazy.
Just as in Mass Effect they just took stuff in ME, and remade it into DLC.
And what is this? return to Ostagar? seriously? I have no intrest, how about working on something good instead of just following EA's plan and releasing many diffrent dlc and as fast as possible, 2 dlc in 3 weeks?
seriously, this isnt planned at all, this is just to make money. and its not like they cant make money with good content and charge more for it, no this is just EA saying money each 2-3 month for 2 years.,

ofc not, but its about time some people wake up.
Mass Effect was promised amazing DLC that would tie 1 and 2nd game through it.
And what did we got?
An empty asteroid with some mobs on it.
and a battle simulator which let you face enemies on places previous visited on.
Bioware DLC sucks, why cant more people face it and demand changes?

Its not about the money, its how they charge us for micro transaction with content that nobody really want.
Now you might say well I want this, ye and that because you take anything over nothing.
is that what you want? lame content just because its cheap?
or do you demand something that is actually worthwhile over DAO and EAS plan to probably release 5-10 crappy DLC for 400 points?

they can only charge you IF you want the content, otherwise, you just don't buy it. Your statement in and of itself is false. They do not charge you, you allow them to charge you.

You dont speak for all of us. You speak for a minority of the player base.

duncan shield is in denerim
Where in Denerim can I find it?
At some point relatively late in the game, you'll rescue a prisoner. Or rather, you'll watch him rescue himself. Talk to him afterwards and he'll let you know where the shield is.
And that's all I'll say about that. Ask a question and recieve a question. Give an answer and recieve the same.
Anyway... Another question that may or may not have been answered: Can we go back into the Kocari wilds to finish that darned Rigby quest? I found his journal but never his lockbox (unless it's that box right by where you find the journal... Can't open that without lockpicking though!), so being able to go back and find the box would be nice. It's driving me crazy.
Edit: To clarify, I mean "with RTO can we go back to Kocari", since I know we can't in the vanilla game.

As I said, those who pay, will pay because its anything over nothing. whats the other option?
Can you choose between plenty of content? did Bioware let you choose between expensive and good dlc vs cheaply and short?
Oh they didnt, you got nothing to compare or ask for? well obvious you take anything over nothing then.
Fans demanded stuff as DLC from Bethseda and they got it, you guys on the other hand take anything over nothing and just pretend like veerything is perfect, your screwing yourself.

Im glad you have NEW DL content available already....Now how about fixing the problems with the game and getteing the Patch out. You have time to make DL Content but not get out a FULL Patch....Or Wait...Did you already have the MONEY Making DL Content ready before release, when you should of been working on making a bug free game?

Yes, your obsolutely correct. The content department is competely associated with the bugs and patching department. You sir have solved the mystery. They've been conning us all along. Development, patching, producing, and marketing are all the same 5 people. Those credits at the end, Lies. All Lies.
Rob Bartel...
As for the patch and the issues that many experienced with our Day 1
content, some of that involved server-side issues that we've already
cleaned up. PC Patch 1.01 is already out and 1.02 is in final testing
and certification to address a number of other issues that have been
identified. Planning on Patch 1.03 is currently underway. Most of the
issues have been on PC side (where things are more complicated due to
variable hardware, the added complexity of the toolset and user-made
content, etc) although we're tracking some on the consoles as well.
Most of these issues have proven to be programming related and
therefore haven't significantly impacted the content teams, which means
we've been able to maintain our focus on developing new content.

Its your opinion we are screwing ourselves because you dont like how Bioware has implemented it. Those of us who dont care really have no problem with it. It isnt for you to say we are screwing ourselves. We all exercise free will in this regard.
I have no doubts that there will be more indepth DLC down the line and an expansion or two as well. You guys who are whining about this are convinced for some reason that since there was a few relatively short DLCs available at launch or shortly after that all Bioware is going to release is short stuff. How you came to that conclusion i dont know but that is the theme running through the anti DLC crowd argument. The game is two weeks old. Two weeks. I dont expect immediate gratification of all my desires in regards to this game, unlike so many here. Six months from now i am sure there will a wide selection to choose from.
Gaming is a hobby is spend a lot of money on, money i can afford to part with. If i was so damn worried about how much content i got for my money, i simply wouldnt buy it. Nothing you say about wether it is worth it or not is ever going to sway my mind. I didnt take up pc gaming because i thought it was a cheap hobby and i am mature enough to realize that the devs need to remain profitable and keep a steady income stream. I do not care that an hours worth of DLC is $5, not one bit. I do not think it is expensive. I am fully aware that a business needs to have a minium price point for their work and i am willing to pay it, happily.

SO-oo-oo *smiles nicely* can some cleric or healer rezz him back for lil Ole' me and put him in the new expansion somewhere?
I miss my mentor
I know it isn't going to happen, but maybe there is hope in an expansion some day for him again.
