Questions about Return to Ostagar? *SPOILERS*

*sigh* When is this slated for release anyway? Meh, nevermind, I don't think I'll get it, Ostagar can go rot in the carcas of a Rakk hive or something.
Now, if you could be so kind and have the whole development team focus on one giant expansion that you can charge 50-60$ with a continuation of the story using the same game mechanics. I'd rather spend money on that. Such as continuing alot of the quests and answering a lot of unanswered questions and killing more people who aren't dead yet or gods or whatever the case be. Sandal himself even, the only runscript npc_immortal/runscript ninja_assassin user.

on that note its a bit early to be releasing content so early, but then again, ME2 is soon so i suppose its best to get ALL this games content out before noone wants it.
looking forward to the new add on!

i agree with adding duncans armor but not the rest, pretty nasty rant at something designed to keep the game fresh with things to do.

I would gladly pay $10 for a DLC that lets me continue the game after i defeat the archdemon and i take 3 hours to complete it and advance a little in the plot, but i won't pay $5 for an extra quest in a warden's keep that took me 30minutes to end and then keep doing my main quest.
The game doesnt need more DLC while you are still playing through the main quest-line (wich is superb), the game needs DLC for people who already ended the game, in advancement to the story.

It seems to me most of the complaints on this thread are from people who like the idea of DLC but don't like the idea of having to pay for it. Regardless of your views, there are development costs to new content developed for a game already released. If you think Bioware shouldn't charge for it because you already paid to buy the game then you really have no understanding how businesses work.
As for the digital salesman in your party camp telling you about Wardens Keep, I think we can all agree it is a little tacky. However, no one is forcing you to buy it. If you bought the game and don't think DLC is worth it and never buy it, more power to you. The rest us will enjoy it. Myself, I'll be counting down the days until I can go back to Ostagar.
Your missing the point it not about getting something for FREE it is about value of content vs. price. or even time of going though the content. Come'om most of us here are adults and dont give flaying F about 5 dollars,. THIS IS BASED ON PRINCIPLE . For that price more content should be included then a experinced player 30 mins on content.,.Id buy a 29..99 full blow exp pack is avalible tomorrow it has nothing to do with money, ppl that are complaining about DLC are complaing the DLC is weak for the value ..GET IT STRAIGHT they are not poor i want everything for free kids.
From Gabochido of Bioware in another thread:
"As a developer of DA:O, I'm very proud of our work and it saddens me to read that some people believe that weeks of a full team (plus external companies for translations and voice overs, among other things) of work
are not worth $7 or even $5 dollars."
That essentially flushes your argument down the toilet. I don't think $5 is asking too much considering the work that goes into just 1 hour of content as the Bioware dev stated. It's a lot more than you probably realize.
I'm calling BS on BioWare based on this quote and the sympathy and 'poor us' this seems to attempt to solicit from their customers.
I understand that it's a business and BioWare is now part of a company that has shareholders and all the 'crap' that comes with being a public company, I get it that DLC
is a revenue source that everyone is using, I get it that development
costs are rising but playing the 'we did all this work and you hurt our
feelings because you don't think it's worth what we are asking' card
bothers me. If BioWare
and most other game companies want to remind us over and over that this
is a business then they should not act shocked our hurt when we treat
them like a business and complain when we don't think what they are
selling is worth what they are asking.
The last number I heard on 11/13/09 was that BioWare had sold over a million dollars of DLC
(this I would venture was from WC almost exclusively as the other came
in all new games), if it is costing anywhere close to a million dollars
to develop something like WC I would be amazed. If they expect to make
even half that on this new DLC
they should have a huge profit margin. Developing 60 minutes of content
should come in well south of half a million, once again if it costs
anywhere near that I would be shocked.
Look I've been a BioWare loyalist for years, I bought a 360 to play ME, I upgraded my PC to play DAO so I'm not a hater. I loved DAO
and have put in over 100 hours and got way more than my moneys worth
but this quote shot right through me. I will not be purchasing any of
the DLC
but not for the cost, I have no desire to buy content for a game that
I'm done playing unless it continues the story and the way the DLC is going and the fact that this game has a hard end that does not seem to be something they can or will make.
Then don't buy the damn DLC and save us from these whiney posts. No one cares how much you loved Bioware or how many times you played through Baldur's Gate or how much you liked Dragon Age. You guys just sound like tightwads.

The community is hungry for some more yummy DA content and all they throw us is this shrimp sized DLC.

Keep in mind the game has only been out for 3 weeks and you're asking for 10 hours of new content. You guys are unrealistic whiney ****es with no idea or any sense of reality in that it takes MONTHS to develop content that long. You people whine like toddlers.

Anyway i can complain untill i get blue in the face and it wont change anything. But i still have a right to complain about it. Same as why you guys have a right to say you like it. Aslong as people dont throw insults at eachother its okey.

I know they need and want to make money. Its what they do. I don't have to agree with the DLC. (atleast not right now) The size is way way way way way way way way way to small for the price. Content is okey to high quality. Time value is none, 0 zero, nothing.

The idea of the right price per amount of content is all relative. You're making a judgement without knowing what development costs are. You might have tightwads (like you) that think $5 is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for new stuff but the majority of us don't have a problem with it. Especially since it adds to replay value. I will play through it more than once so you're getting more than just 1 hour. You're getting the time for each character you play through it with. Not too much to ask $5 for it. Especially since the majority of morons in this thread give no thought to development costs or have any respect for the length of time it takes to make quality stuff.
Personally, I'm amazed we're getting new DLC this soon. I thought it would take months before we got anything new.

Look i don't care if it cost them 1$ to make the DLC or if it cost them 10 000 000$. In the end for me what i want is value for the money i might spend (and i won't on the DLC out right now). And replay value is also all relative. I could go out and buy a game that is 3 hours long and play it 500 times. And it would still not change that its only 3 hours of content. Same thing here. Anyway for me its not it. Lets say i buy 20 DLC for the average price of 7$ that is 140$. Congrats! If they made a expansion instead you could have 20 hours of content for only 30-60$!

I would like to thank all the staff at Bioware as well as everyone else who was involved in the making of this truly EPIC gaming experience and I look forward to seeing what new content you bring to broaden the horizons of this world you have created. Also like Foxd1e I would also like to see some more challenging fights / ‘boss battles’ introduced if possible.
To answer your question Toronto13 about what names non-gamers would use about gamers.....well they would most likely be so bad that they would make even the most evil of dark deities run for cover screaming.
As for Kelevra007’s statement “All the arguing..... it's as good as being on a political forum, but without all the swearing”, well: BLEEP, BLEEP, CENSORED, CENSORED, EXPLETIVE. I hope this gives you and other posters/readers a little chuckle.

lets make a comparison.
a DVD is what $10-20 for 2 hours worth of film and you get to keep it
going to the cinema is about $10 for a film (only get to watch it once or pay the same again!)
you get the DLC for $5 and get an hours worth of content which you can play over and over and over again...
don't make me reference the piece of **** game portal again aswell!

****** balls.
They could at least make the armor in the CGI trailer avalible, but seeing that duncan died next to cailan, couldn't they at the least let us loot his corpse or have alistar take something to remember duncan by?
I don't want to bring alistar to the ostagar aftermath and hear him whine about not being able to find duncans corpse which will cause one hell of a racket that would annoy the crap out of the archdemon forcing it to kill itself.
