Got the game on EU Launch and so far loving every minute, laughed, cried, pounded the keyboard and screamed at my monitor (before i caught on about how the tactics actually work). I finished the promo Stone Prisoner in less than an hour, but wouldn't go without it for the world, it was brilliant, anything that adds to the game by expanding the storyline and adding even more depth to my companions, will be be in my sights... I think I will be holding off for a little bit in to finish current playthrough before i get WK and this new RtO DLC, next playthrough will be the better for it.

Great work here from Bioware, clever premise deep game and stuff coming out all the time, so far 9.5/10 for me.

Oh yes, question: Will the DLC coincide with any kind of patch? Particularly one that will be fully functional and compatible with or without existing DLC (not saying current patches were bad, in fact they fixed quite a bit) mainly to address some gameplay and graphics glitches (full HD prerendered videos VERY welcome... nudge nudge ;) )

My question about Ostagar is this-for those of us who have completed the game, is there any chance we'll be able to do this using our final characters (i.e. something like a final save after we beat the game...assuming the PC survives...) as in a somewhat continuation of the game (I'd like to think that we can play on AFTER we beat the game...hell even if the PC doesn't live...go on with whatever party is available, like no Alistair if he's made king or leaves etc...)....or will we just have to load an earlier save just to play it?

Like some posters mentioned before it might be nice to see a flashback to Ostagar as to how you and Alistair were rescued by Flemeth, although that doesnt add much to the content.

However, I would have preferred this to be added to a sequel or expansion like some other people here.
I mean going back to Ostagar could include burying Duncan at Highever like Alistair wanted and maybe learn more about the man himself, did the man have any skeletons in the closet? family we didnt know about? after all Alistair did mention that he didn't know that much about him (at least from what i can recall do correct me if I'm wrong).
Then there's naturally burying the King(it's not like Ferelden forgot about the poor guy eh?), which would hopefully trigger some conversations with Alistair or Loghain or whatever, and if Cailan had any plans for Alistair.

That's why I agree with KorrickAsh, it would be nice to do something like that as a continuation of the game of a sort, maybe use the DLC's to set up or at least give an idea of how things are going to be in a sequel, of course that would take some time since the game just got out, that would seem more interesting from my point of view, 'cos the various factors contributing to the story were some of the main things about this game that I liked as opposed to content that barely has any relevance if any at all and THAT doesn't really sound worth buying as opposed to continuing the story in whatever way you can.

I'm in, even if I can't use my epiloge save, since my Dwarf Noble made the ultimate sacrifice. Playing again as a Human Noble

your epilogue save is the auto-save BEFORE the final battle with the archdemon.  your dwarf noble is alive and well, bro.

1) No spoilers in this forum.  Seriously.
2) Replaying the game with your final character will be the next DLC they offer, only $9.99 to revisit all the areas you've already been to.  Worth it?

Average playtime is always tough to pin down because everyone's mileage will vary (and developers player the game in a very different manner than a typical first-time player). I can do a speed run (skipping through conversations and cutscenes, using a buff party, controlling Dog, avoiding some combats, ignoring loot drops, not looking at the scenery, etc) in about 15-20 minutes. I suspect it would take a typical first-time player about an hour to complete.

cool now I know not to buy it.

Question for you. Will there be expansions on this game like NWN 2 in the future or just dlc? I was kinda hoping for more content to the dlc's. Like maybe going to dragons peak or some other area's you see that are not able to reach at the very moment.

I hope this comes out for all platforms on the same day, i am sick and tired of most companies always releasing it for xbox exclusively for a time period and then make it availible to pc and ps3.

5$ = 60 minutes more gameplay ... I don't know...Well, I know i'm gona buy it, 5$ ain't going to ruin me but still feel a little cheated. I am currently 25 hours in (My first run of the game) so if each of these hours cost me 5$... 125$ game.

For 1 hour it should be tops 3$ and I think I'm being generous, no!?

In my game Cailan had a bad-ass greatsword. I want to know if I get that, or the lame longsword I see in the promotional screen shots.

I am thinking he may have been using this as a general example of what takes him 20mins to test is about an hour to a gamer, how can he know the total time if he says its not even complete yet?

Maybe its just optimism, but I think he was just saying one persons playtime will vary from another, but 1 hour would hardly seem worth it.

1.) So will we Europeans have to pay 5.- EURO , as useual or the proper exchange rate ?

2.) Once again WHAT IS THE LAST SAVE GAME LOCATION, we could use ? Before Landsmeet, after ... before /after Morrigan meeting ... etc. how could it be so hard to tell that ?

THX

The reason these people are arguing about how much it costs is because they want the dlc so bad they would want to fight for it.

I mean if you think that 5 buck aint worth it, then dont buy it. its as simple as it gets.

Every time I glance here to see if the devs comment I stumble upon spoilers...and some so major that I grind my teeth...

Now I know many who post here are either retarded or they dont give a damn about the rules

NO SPOILERS

seriously I do not know how to reach the ones that with one sentence can bury the excitement of anticipation...

Public whipping could be an answer to that I guess...

From now on I intend to use "report" button, with some harsh comments in the "why" box.

Furthermore I begin to question the age of majority of posters. What's the games rating? Oh, it doesnt really matter, does it? Arguing and bickering in such a form as its present on the social site gives the "impression" most of us here are 13-15 years old...

This. Screw the sword and board characters. they already have keening blade and tons of good shields and longswords. give us a proper greatsword.

so let's pay 300$ for a 60h game, yay!

Anyway, 12$ for a 90 minute pay per view movie is what I'd call a rip off, and going to the movie theater is a different story, as they provide the screen and the seat (+ it is usually much cheaper, around 6€ here).

Will there be new baddies to the bestiary? That would be more exciting than some pieces of loot.

Because you're not doing a proper comparison.
Let's try 100 hours of content -> 39$ for DA:O (1$ per roughly 2.1 hours... not counting different origins)
For 1 hour expansion -> 5$

Yeah, I'd say it's a rip-off.
Sure, some people are more than willing to buy any and all DLC. More power to them. There's also people willing to waste 1000$ on parfume. I'd conosider these people stupid personally, but if they want to throw their money out of the window, who am I to stop them?

100 hours of DAO?

I finished the game in 38 hours.

sure, I played star ocean 4 for 150+ hours but thats not really how the avg consumer gonna play(getting level 255 etc).

the whole argument about that cost that in comparsion is ridiculous, im not arguing that the dlc is too expensive, im saying we are getting microtransaction and smaller updates then a real expansion.

Way I see it is a **** costs more than $5 per 1 hour of "playtime" and can give you a rash or worse.

Dragon age won't give you a rash, hell, it will even still be there in the morning. That is unless the **** stole your computer.
