Let's not get carried away. It was estimated at an hour for the average player, not 1 hour max. Seeing as I have seen claimed game completion times from 40-odd hours but myself took nearly 124 hours to complete the game many of us can expect a longer duration, some less.
In all honesty, just to have a chance to pay homage to the King and Duncan by travelling to their place of death is enough for me to pay $5, even if no fighting occurred.

For instance, if the game was 60$ retail and had 100 hrs....5$ worth should equate to 8.3hrs worth of game play. Additionally no new models are necessarily being altered, so alot of the in game mechanics are being reused.
I applaud the dev's for their good work in delivering a good product, however when it comes to business acumen, they are deficient. They might find the current price sufficient to garner a certain percentage of people willing to pay for the price, however the volume will not be at the most optimized level.
They really should take a look at the pricing models of other DLC's like Fallout 3 as comparables.

lol why isn't there a whine filter? honestly as much as i just love reading threw 5 threads of crying spoiled little brats going "gimmie gimmie not enough wah wah $5!" i would like to save my self the time & what precious brain cells i have left to look here for anything relevant to the actual DLC topic or at least some form of game/plot/charecter discussion that doesn't involve the above sobbing/nerd rage
Whining about whining, just promotes more whining. You should ponder that, before commenting.

Multiple play throughs should provide more than a standard hour of play time on this particular DLC.

I must disagree on the price. Although the developers make a good point on time and effort spent. If you look at proportions, the price for this DLC is grossly overpriced.

I don't think it's fair to compare game time and DLC's.
That would mean that a 1 hour DLC should be priced 60 cents for DA:O which just isn't realistic.
The full game Batman Arkham Asylum should then be priced $6 because the main game is ~10 hours.
OR if Batman is priced $60 then a 1 hour DLC for Batman could be $6 but a 1 hour DLC for DA:O would need to be 60 cents...
However I do agree with you that the Fallout DLC's are a great benchmark (along with the GTA4 DLC's) that developers should aim for. Even though if you compare Operation Anchorage with Point Lookout, then there's imbalance with the pricing there too, since OA is shorter than PL.

Propably you want to play Warden's Keep DLC. Then you have to buy some points (560).

If it's 1 hour of gaming, that turns into 3 hours for me as I plan to play it as a fighter, mage & thief.
Probably one of the best points. Do people really expect to only get one hour total out of this DLC from their purchase on? You're only going to play it once with one character then forget all about it? Please. If you're going to be stingy about these things you shouldn't have chosen DA:O, so bottom line is suck it up and move on. $5 seems like a totally reasonable price to pay for all the work that goes into these additional DLC packages, especially since they never had to come out with DLC in the first place. Anyway it's not necessary to the game, which you already have, so if you don't think it's worth it, don't get it. Simple as that.
I, for one, am totally looking forward to it and am planning on getting it as soon as it comes out. Hopefully I'll have finished the game by then with at least one of my characters (had to go on a hiatus b/c it's finals time. sigh.) because it sounds like a really cool campaign to go on after playing out most of the character development. And more of Alistair's voice is A-OK with me! (psst ... not really related to RoO, but will there maybe be a romance DLC availability sometime in the future ...?

People will have to make their own decisions about whether or not the price is right for them. I was involved in the pricing decision and this is the price I recommended and felt was appropriate for the content and the amount of effort required to create it. But yes, we understand that $5 can be a lot for some people to pay.
I'll wait for the DLC bundle pack. Five 1-2hr DLC for $20. Or maybe I'd splurge on three for $10.

I admit my hubby and I are not average players... he is the kind that needs to search out every inch of the map in case the needle from the haystack is there. so if you could throw in some npc in a waldo outfit i could laugh at him and justify his search

I actually find this DLC interesting enough to get. I'm confused with the release date...holiday's mean thanksgiving or christmas or new year?
Assume it means Christmas, because the point of releasing for the holidays is for people to buy it for a Christmas present (other holidays around this time of year aren't as consumer oriented).
And to Bioware:
Let me just say that I love your products and I will assuredly buy this DLC. I just don't think you guys get enough contended customers posting, as people usually come to forums to complain (when they're happy, they're more likely to be playing the game then coming here =P ). So guys, remember that they need positive feedback too!

Please troll elsewhere Capt. obvious. while you might find it entertaining, some people are actually here to have questions answered, not just try to gain attention that they lack in the real world. that is all.
Don't be ridiculous, this topic has lost it's purpose. Also, nobody is having there questions answered. That is all.

If you havent anything constuctive to add to the topic, post elsewhere don't troll.
I am looking forward to getting the king's armor, and some of Duncan's things, but will there be a raise to the lvl cap, or would that be for a larger expansion? I would love to go to Sten's lands in an expansion, I'm sure that would be very VERY interesting

Were it up to me, I'd have BW stop making DLC packages and get to work on DA2. From my lowly consumer perspective, it is the better investment and makes BW look better.
Also, I feel it necessary to say that EABW could have delayed launch a few weeks and put this content into their final product, since it was obviously coded and tested before release (what with the NPCs already in place). Did EA think we wouldn't notice that pieces of the finished game had been broken off to fleece customers who wanted a chest, a keep?
This same nickel-and-dime system showed how ugly it could be for Bethsoft when they decided horses couldn't be armored without their say so and that lesson was cast aside by EABW, disappointingly.
As with Oblivion, the fan-devs and actual expansions will decide how long DA stays installed on my computer, not DLC offerings, it seems.
