You thought the email was bad... A guy just showed up in my camp with an ! over his head. I talked to him and all he said was "Hey, we should go back to Ostagar... BUT NOT YET! Sometime later this Holiday season though, we should, like, totally go loot the King."
ROFL.....that's the funniest thing I read all day.

People will have to make their own decisions about whether or not the price is right for them. I was involved in the pricing decision and this is the price I recommended and felt was appropriate for the content and the amount of effort required to create it. But yes, we understand that $5 can be a lot for some people to pay.
I hope you have taken into consideration you already have a fan base now and that's easier to seel the DL content than it is to sell DAO. Since DAO it's the platform wouldn't it be better to lower the price and sell more?

$5 is nothing if it gives me an hour of joy. Personally I think the entire game is too short but maybe if the add ons keep coming.
Too short?
I'm only around 30% and have taken more than 80 hrs.

Average playtime is always tough to pin down because everyone's mileage will vary (and developers player the game in a very different manner than a typical first-time player). I can do a speed run (skipping through conversations and cutscenes, using a buff party, controlling Dog, avoiding some combats, ignoring loot drops, not looking at the scenery, etc) in about 15-20 minutes. I suspect it would take a typical first-time player about an hour to complete.
Ouch. It will be tough to justify a $5 expenditure on 60 minutes of gametime. I was hoping for 2-3.
My threshold for buying any DLC is 1 hour of game play per dollar spent. That is almost twice the cost per hour of the regular game (~100 hours for $50)
I guess I won't be buying any DA downloadable content.

Was the email just to tell people who don't check the site? Or can we have a DLC or a release date, please? I was happy to wait, but the email has made me more impatient.

You don't see the city at first, only the merchant. I'm sure there's a way it can be fixed if that is not the problem.
No, it's a very common problem where the village itself doesn't show up after you speak with the merchant. I have the control rod, but have nothing to do with it. People have been complaining about this for a month now. A few people have stumbled upon or figured out solutions, but they don't work for everyone, and people really shouldn't have to fool around with stuff they don't understand.
I suppose it comes down to some people, myself included, feeling a bit of anger that BioWare is pushing new DLCs out as fast as possible when the older ones have so many unresolved problems.

Our next piece of Premium Content, Return to Ostagar, has been announced.
If you have any questions about this new release, please post them here and I'll do my best to answer them for you. I'll try to avoid any spoilers not already covered within the module description and ask you to do the same.
Thanks for playing Dragon Age and for your interest in extending the experience!
Rob,
I have to hand it to you for taking on the monumental task of trying to converse with an internet message board. As an aspiring independent video game creator (currently have a project in the works), seeing you come on here and syphon out all of the personal insults and utter BS in order to answer actual questions is inspiring. Major props.

But I have to say if I was I might be tempted by Wardens Keep but this, 1 hour or less of gameplay even at $5 I don't think I'd see that as great value for money.
I think the answer is not cheaper DLC but longer more substantial DLC. 1 hour sounds a bit of an anticlimax.
I'd rather play $10 for 10 hours if you didn't market them in game with NPCs.
Are we to see another sales man in disguise for this as well?

I can't see why anyone would complain about it. If you do not like it, do not purchase it.
End of line.
