And what is wrong with demanding a fair deal for our money? It's easy to say don't buy you don't have to. But what if i want to but all i get is crap? i think we are entitled to a demand for better DLC products. Be it better content or better content/play time vs money ratio. Or whatever reason, but only power we have is to buy and show that the product is ok, or don't buy and wish for better products.



Well i don't care i'm not buying dlc's i believe they are a corrupt business but will buy expansion.

ok i think this has been asked, but i need to ask anyhow: I am currently on my 3rd run through, so which toon can this be implemented on, or doesn't it matter?

You can access this DLC with all your main characters. Info about DLCs is bound to your EA Online account, not your in-game characters.

Putting out a product for money is not corrupt, no matter how you feel about it. To call it corrupt is pretty darn extreme.

well i got the email yesterday saying this new dlc was available.  I purchased enough points for it.  however it does not show in the DLC menue for em to purchase nor can i find an ingame vendor for it?

Congratulations, you just made a loan to EA. The dlc is not available yet.

On a somewhat side note, is there anything at all to recomend this dlc if your playing a rogue or mage? Imo so far it sounds like its a warrior loot haul.

I got that email as well, and Ostagar is also listed in the list of available DLCs on the website. If it's actually not available, that's tantamount to false advertising. It could also fall under the many Bait-and-Switch laws which prohibit advertising something you don't have available in order to draw in customers to other products/services.

What makes you think that you can demand anything at all? You're not paying Bioware for a service, it's not like DA:O is an MMO. You got what you paid for, and if you don't feel the price was worth it than you don't buy it. If you're implying that you'd still want what you consider a sub-par product, then that's your own choice to deal with of whether or not to buy it.

Personally everyone crying about the price is irritating to me, because if this is the kind of response expected for announcing a DLC release, how much more content do you think they'll put out? You're dealing with a company here, they have to make a profit, if they can't make a profit, then they won't bother providing a product. Be grateful there's any DLC at all.

also if say 100+ peopel bought it then they would hit the $500 dollar threashold for felony Fraud

Cue some new guy/girl whining about how EA is holding BioWare's families hostage in exchange for them saying the DLC was not EA's decision.

as opposed to:

The Stone Prisoner
Available Now.

The Return to Ostagar DLC says Available This Holiday Season, while all the rest say Available Now. Charges of fraud aren't happening. You might want to bark at BioWare for sending out an email that wasn't clear on that point, but you can forget about anything further.



Someone above me brought up an interesting point about the reward being another suit of Warrior armor. I already have the Blood Dragon armor, the Warden armor, and I already have Dog, so the actual advertised perks of RTO are looking kind of slim from a relative standpoint.

perhaps becasue it now says it is  available as oppossed to  avaible this holiday season when i actually orded it today  which shock of shocks has been changed back after i sent an emial asking why it said that if it was not available
let alone the fact they just sent us new emails saying it was available for purchase now.

ah just got a return phone call from EA they appolgized saying they are looking into why those emails were sent out and they refunded my money saying they have no eta as to when it will be released

I'm glad they refunded the money. They really shouldn't have sent out the email advertisement without clearly stating that the DLC wasn't yet released. However, the false advertising claim didn't have a leg to stand on. I knew the moment I saw Available This Holiday Season that it wasn't Available Now. When a company publishes a general date, they may release that product ANYWHERE in that time-frame, not just on the first day. You can pre-order a game that lists 1stQ 2010 as the release, but throwing a hissy because it's not released on the first day of the first quarter would be childish.

actually if you meant my thread yes  as when i made that  i was trying to findout where to get to the area or the vendor ingame  and after scanning this thread it was mostly about people complaing about havign to pay for dlc  not actually peopel respondign to questions about the dlc itself

actually you are wrong.  last night I received an email from them  with a link which brought me to the store to purchase the points.  That was the email they appoligized for sending out.  Apparently,  thier system sent out an email ahead of time  to some of us.  They said they had received emails and calls from quit a few people concerning it and were just automatically issuing refunds to anyone who contacted them.  I do understand what you meant by the holiday season  that was more in anger at other posters claiming that since that tag was there on that one page fo the site  that it absolved them of any claims concerning emails or other advertising that gave, implied or expressed that it was available now  which it does not

If there is another Levi dryden type character in my camp pestering me, i will go ape****. Although seeing as how it's 5$ now i wouldn't be surprised if they were even more vicious with their advertising and had some tool follow you around everywhere with the ! over his head.

I was a bit sad to learn that the big feature is the new set of warrior armor. Alistair looks tricked out and I am resigned to non bling leathers. Aw well. I still wish they'd hurry up and let me give them my money for more game.
