I request that the next dlc contain a penguin voiced by Morgan Freeman.

This... would be epic. Not only for Morgan Freeman, but I'd love to get my hands on a penguin model for the toolset.

...

Don't ask.

It's entirely EA's influence, I suspect.
BioWare never pulled this kind of nonsense before (hell, Mass Effect's Bring Down the Sky on the PC was free).

Designing for consoles(minimum common denominator) means they have to design in a somewhat different way, because they would be less ambitious as to what they could do with content and what they couldn't do.    Dragon Age really looks like a game intended to have a lot of added content that players and EA/Bioware could release after the fact, while Mass Effect does not.   There is also more room in Dragon Age for more storyline adventures to be added that would add to the current campaign, not just add a minor side-adventure here and there that has no impact on the main game at all.

It would be dangerous for Bioware to release a lot of content for the PC version without making it available for the main audience, which is why there hasn't been much for Mass Effect in the way of added content.    Neverwinter Nights on the other hand DID have a good amount of content available for download.

The difference between NWN and DA is that the NWN "premium" modules were decently large and involving, and didn't rely on the gimmick that you get a new shiny item (warden gear in soldier's peak, king's armour in ostagar) to justify the price.

Will the issue with the area resource manager on the PC version be resolved by the time Ostagar is out or will it have 10 minute load times and the potential for corrupting saves? e.g. Landsmeet.

I would just like the ability to go back to ALL the areas. Not just the DLC.

wow so many pages but still no date

What does the number of pages have to do with anything? In the initial info release they never once mentioned a hard release date beyond "holiday season" Sometime between Thanksgiving and X-mas. Seems simple enough.  I would rather it realse a little later into the "holiday season" fully polished up and ready to go than them caving to whiners on the forums demanding now before it is ready.

Really, it's 2 hours of gameplay and 5 dollars, I could care less about polish and more about actually having dlc. At this rate we will be moving backwards with the so called promise of "Constant DLC".

I wouldn't hold my breath, especially if 2 hours of gameplay takes them this long to do.

If it's taking this long to "polish", why announce it so early?

Would be nice to have an update at least.

Still I have to wonder how long it takes to "polish" an addon that features a tarted up location that's already in the game where you fight enemies that are already in the game that features an armour set that's already in the game.

So they rush it out the door to make you happy only to have you and olthers complain about how unpolished and amaturish it is. What a rip off!!!!one1.

It will be ready when it is ready.

Yeah I would imagine the week before Christmas for the release, actually. Seems the optimal time to cash in. Looking foward to it, actually... just because I'm on my 2nd runthrough now and should hopefully finish it up in time for this and the new patch to both be out so it'll definitely add some variety for my next character.

Gonna need to agree with this. Shale and WK were done at release, so they've been working on this since than. Hopefully its so full of content and thats why its taking them awhile to polish it.

Im hoping we get some dlc's that actually have something to do with the main storyline or atleast our origin conflicts. Something right before the landsmeet that helped resolve of the pc's problems for once, instead of just the joinable npcs.

Can't disagree with the desire for an update, but what they're "polishing" is probably making sure that every part of the DLC is compatable with the rest of the game. Regardless of what the content is, whenever you make alterations to the core files and two dimensional arrays it has the possibility of breaking the game. Wouldn't it be swell if they released it, and then everyone who downloaded it broke their game? ;)

Still, it's pretty ridiculous that Bioware hasn't at least given an update on this, or a specific release date. I presume that it's in testing, but unless something major has arisen there shouldn't be any delay.

Rob Bartel wrote...

As for precisely when it will come out, we don't have a specific answer
to that yet which is why we're being vague. We're still tackling one
last optimization issue and then we need to make it through final
testing and certification across all three platforms.

Well it is sad to know it wont be a major DLC adding hour or little more isn't much to look forward to for exp players but at least there trying to update on it.I hope to see more made with less of a gab in between if there going to be short then surely more should come out.
