In fiction characters who... "choose against it" (if you get what I'm saying) find a way to show up in the future works all the time. Some technicality or something that allows them to continue on. A sequel or expansion that adds more content that takes place AFTER the end of the main game could still work. Dreams can be used to explain a lot, as can magicWhere there's a will there's a way, or so they say.
Yes...that is true...and could be very interesting. But somehow...I think that would lessen the weight of the decision. I mean...if you KNEW what would happen in a sequel, would you still make the same choice? That choice is pretty hardcore.
Oh man...unless...hmm...that may work. Though the developers would also have to take into consideration that each player's "world" is very different after they play through. It'd be kinda neat if (hard to talk in "code" so bear with me) the characters present in a certain area at the end had to find "he/she who was the hero" and if the player chose yes, you could find...the...other thing. ^^;
Not sure. Either way, it is very story sensitive...a blessing and a curse with these games. It'd be hard to pull it off sucessfully and not be tacky.
I understand what you mean here. If you still read this thread, you may find THIS interesting. In Mass Effect 2, all of your choices, decisions, etc carry over to the sequel AND of course you play the SAME main character from the first. I am interested in seeing how this turns out and I truly hope that Bioware does the same INCLUDING the romance part of the game.

Nice read! Sorry for posting a "wall of text" but wow...that would be really neat. I know nothing of game programming, and thought that such a feat would be a technical nightmare, especially with so many choice combinations. But this looks promising! Thank you for posting this!

Any hints on a release date? The Holiday Season is dwindling. :-) If you squint. :-D
Christmas is still 18 days away so I'd expect it will be released in 1/2 weeks time.

Agreed. I can barely stand the wait, knowing that the DLC may come out anytime soon.

They better start announcing this soon so people will find out when to expect it before the holiday madness. If BioWare keeps this quiet and stops acknowledging its existence even after release then I would brace for a fail DLC like Pinnacle Station.
They completely stopped talking about it and there were no dev posts after it was released.....they just sort of pretended it didn't exist.

29th......that is ridiculous and silly. Most people will be with family celebrating.....most away from home......or christmas shopping for presents and so on. A few nerds like me will buy it that day but overall the DLC will be a failure because everyone is too busy with other things.

Maybe its good that the dlc is durning the holidays...maybe the download servers wont overload and you have to wait 10 houers to get the dlc down on your pc....and trust me the 10 houers will be much worse then 3 weeks of waiting

Alistair isn't gonna start crying when we get there is he? Also if we are able to loot Calen's and Duncan's corpses are they going to unceremoniously turn into a pile of bones like everyone else?
None of the already dead corpses you find in the game now do this so what makes you think Calian and Duncan will?
Only bodies of NPCs you kill or see killed in front of yourself turn into bones.....not the corpses you already find dead. Those tend to stay there intact forever.

If this is only an hour, then I expect it to be ($5) 400 points? I was hoping like 3-4 hours, like all the Fallout DLC.
yea maybe one houer on easy mode but i think it will take longer then that on hard or nightmare...but its just a guess
