I am sure they have a target date they are shooting for but just dont want to release that info because if they somehow had to miss it by a few days the moaning and wailing from the forums could be heard on the far side of the internet.

According to the rules of magic, ressurection spells are not possible. Dead is dead. Couldn't see them violating that in something that has as little playtime as this is supposed to have.
Don't think dead things can be possessed either. Animated, yes, possessed, no.
*** WARDEN'S KEEP RELATED SPOILER ***
Wasn't the lady from Warden's Keep a possessed dead woman?
The wiki says "The siege took months and ended with the death of Sophia Dryden... It was not until 200 years later, that King Maric would allow Grey Wardens back into Fereldan... When it was reentered for the first time in centuries by The Warden, it was discovered that Sophia Dryden was possessed by a demon." This seems to suggest that she was dead and then possessed, although I don't know how "authentic" the wiki content is. I don't see any reason why there couldn't be a demonically possessed undead Duncan strolling around the ruins of Ostagar, that is I don't see how the "rules of magic" would prevent such a thing.

As for me, personally, this is the best game I ever played. I jumped on my bed for several minutes when I got the e-mail about this DLC coming. Now I can cross my fingers and hope there will be a return to Highever too. Can't wait can't wait. YAY
I have to agree with you about everything you said here (except the jumping on the bed lol); I'm already on my 4th go around lol... N I def want to see something more about Highever.
As far as the peeps on here complaining about if it's worth it or not pfft. You don't have to get it if you don't want. I for 1 do n I hope to see many more DLC's cause as far as I'm concerned they are def worth it... The game itself is worth it...
Keep up the good work Bioware

****SPOILER*****
The information of her "death" in the codex is inaccurate, she was possessed and did not die, persumably she entered into a pact with the demon to tear the veil at Warden's Keep (preventing the keep from ever falling....she was, after all, very extreme in her methods). Avernus then used magic to keep the demons from escaping Warden's Keep and since "Sophia" couldn't go anywhere she just hung around for 200 years waiting for you to show up.
Axterix is right, there is a codex that specifically states the rules of magic. No resurrection, no teleportation, etc.

I get too excited. *blush* But the quality of anything is based on how much it will cost to do. Actors, comanies, writers, people cleaning toilets. They have to pay their bills. When I see someone complaining about having to spend 10 USD (two trips to McDonalds) I see peeps that just don't want to see Dragon Age grow. The more the game is supported, the more the company will continue to support it with DLC, expansion packs, etc. Before I get rocks thrown at me by said peeps, this is MY opinion, you can have yours, agree or disagree. I like the idea of DLC, again, my opinion.

if 5 dollars really is to rich for your blood, find an old **** game you dont play anymore, sell it at Gamestation or somewhere, theres your 5 bucks.
Anyone who is arguing over 5 dollars should probably not be posting on internet forums, but be out earning a living...

I still don't think Duncan is dead, I remember him just stagger off after he did a death blow on the Ogre and he even look up to to tower to see the beacon is set on blaze to indicate to the reinforcement to flank the Blight but the other dude forgot his name ordered his troop to withdraw.
This must be a really good reason for Duncan to return and smack that traitor in the face and remember the Main Character also got killed at the tower? Flemish saved the main character and Alister by carrying them off on her wings but we don't know what spell or remedy did Flemish use to save those two.
I'm still at the Werewolf Den campaign and Duncan is still on my mind, waiting some where for us to reunite = D
Alister also mention allot about Duncan at the camp on how he miss him etc.
Ostager gonna bring lots of good surprises if Bioware do it right tehe.
My dollars goes for Duncan return, maybe for temporary where he would give advice to Alister or even giving leadership to the MC or Alister or even sharing his secret technique on 1 hit Wonder, Xmas gift, who knows. hehe
Oh yea one more thing - When Duncan killed Jory at the Joining because he refused to drink the blood of the Darkspawn, Duncan killed him with his Dagger, this indicated to me that Duncan is a Rogue and rogue got stealth. He could easily slips away from the battle at Ostagar : D

I really can't see them bringing Duncan into it, though part of my thinking on that is so that if he is in it, I will be pleasantly surprised and curious as to how it affects the game.
I've got a couple of playthroughs going at the moment that I've put on hold so that I can do the 'Return to Ostagar' sequence at various points. So yeah, it would be nice to know how much longer we have to wait till it is released

See, i dont see it as them giving us the silent treatment. They made the announcement of when the DLC would be available. Until that time passes us with no DLC released i see all this complaining as just impatient whining.

I think you'd be wrong about the rogue thing: *Spoiler to follow*
In the final sequence we find Duncan's shield, and (if I'm remembering correctly, once you gift it to Alistair) the shield is usable only by warriors. By the same token, any off-hand weapon will be a dagger unless you have Dual Weapon Mastery; and anyone can use daggers. There's also the practical to consider as stabbing someone at close range like that with a sword really isn't. Daggers are designed for close-in usage as they require less movement room to be effective.
Also, Leliana is a rogue base-class and she doesn't have any stealth to start, so being a rogue class doesn't equate to stealthy either.

Look at the way he talks about Duncan, he's like a father to him. Does anyone really think that Alistair would continue to follow the PC's orders when given a choice between following the PC and Duncan? Would all of the leaders of the various nations still look to you to lead them? I doubt it.
Would the end of the game and the choices you're given change significantly because there were more Grey Wardens? Oh yeah.
The final blow that killed Duncan may not have been shown, but showing him looking at the beacon, then SHOWING the beacon, showing him looking at the battle, then showing the battle, and then him looking toward the field, and then the implication of the axe coming at the viewpoint and then going to black seems to me that that we were looking through Duncan's eyes as he looked around.

I have very limited MS points at the moment , and it was announced today that next Tuesdays Rock Band DLC will include "This is war" by 30STM (The song from DAOs credits!
But since Return to ostagar will apparently not be out this week I can now safely purchase the 30STM songs for rock band and get more points in time for Return to ostagar , Yay! XD
Edit : And you guys are reducing the price of Return to ostagar? Good Lord man , it was only $5 to start with.....
I hope that your hard work on Return to ostagar is well worth it , but I suppose getting like1,000,000 $4ish purchases does add up to be alot. Just that lowering the price below $5 even makes me wonder if you could even be profitting off of it but I certainly hope that you guys are because you need to profit in order to keep this whole thing going

Hi everyone. Sorry for not popping in and providing another update sooner. Based on some of the feedback in this thread, we made the decision to revisit Return to Ostagar and make some small improvements, including the addition of a new Ostagar-specific achievement/trophy and a reduction in the price. This has required a patch/title update and some additional testing and certification. This has pushed our dates back and I can confirm that the PS3 version will not arrive until the New Year. For PC and X360, we're still working hard to get it out in time for Christmas but we're not out of the woods quite yet. We'll put out another press release once we're 100% confident of the dates.
Thanks for your patience and I hope you enjoy the adventure once it's finally available.

Wardens keep : You can make use of the place forever once you beat it , can be beaten on every save , some items obtained there are used for a characters entire life
Stone prisoner : You can make use of Shale and the items from the place forever even after you beat the place
Both across all saves of course too , so really the DLCs play value is increased exponentially depending on if you use the items or services of the DLC areas , personally I love the chest in Wardens keep , & the Harvest festival ring from Shales place , Helm of honnleath is 2nd to none but looks stupid but I like to give it to Alistar on all my saves. Warden commander armor makes good handmedown armor for the rejects like Oghren & Sten. Warden commanders tower shield was used the entire game on my templar
I actually despise Shale... but at least theres a nice ring & helmet involved lol

Hurry up and announce an expansion already!!!
As to the price arguement, anything Bioware puts out in the DA universe is easily worth triple its tagged price for me.
Also: EXPANSION PLZ!!!!!!

It is so nice to know that a company does indeed listen to it's fan base and is flexible enough to accomodate fan requests.
