Hi everyone. Sorry for not popping in and providing another update sooner. Based on some of the feedback in this thread, we made the decision to revisit Return to Ostagar and make some small improvements, including the addition of a new Ostagar-specific achievement/trophy and a reduction in the price. This has required a patch/title update and some additional testing and certification. This has pushed our dates back and I can confirm that the PS3 version will not arrive until the New Year. For PC and X360, we're still working hard to get it out in time for Christmas but we're not out of the woods quite yet. We'll put out another press release once we're 100% confident of the dates.

Thanks for your patience and I hope you enjoy the adventure once it's finally available.

For Ferelden!
Rob

Average playtime is always tough to pin down because everyone's mileage will vary (and developers player the game in a very different manner than a typical first-time player). I can do a speed run (skipping through conversations and cutscenes, using a buff party, controlling Dog, avoiding some combats, ignoring loot drops, not looking at the scenery, etc) in about 15-20 minutes. I suspect it would take a typical first-time player about an hour to complete.

Ouch. It will be tough to justify a $5 expenditure on 60 minutes of gametime. I was hoping for 2-3.

My sentiments exactly, 15-20 minutes is epic fail.

For some it will be, not for everyone though. I am sure the majority will be happy withh it and it will be successful.

I'm sure they've been taking into account all we've been posting here. Chances are we may see over an hour of gameplay. We won't know till its released i guess.

No change to the module's length. It's still just the right amount of awesome but we have lowered the price to help address people's concerns. Sorry, you can't have both. ;o)

I think it seems almost as if some people really do not care about the story of the game in the 1st place

I mean , what did they do skip all conversations even in the 1st playthrough and they are just like "Oh boy I'm a guy with a sword! **** storylines! Must smash must kill!"

The character will be RETURNING... TO OSTAGAR dammit! Don't you care in the slightest about what interesting revelations will be made when your character returns to Ostagar for craps sake?

I personally DO care and am interested in the story aspect of the thing and I think thats another part of it people overlook

Also , wouldn't you people pay like $7 for a movie ticket for a movie that lasts 2 hours and then can't ever be used again and from then on is simply a memory?

This , this is like $4 and lasts 1 hour , but can be replayed forever and have aspects of it used forever I mean seriously

Technically speaking I think all the DLCs are more than 1 hour of playtime if you look at them differently

Wardens keep : You can make use of the place forever once you beat it , can be beaten on every save , some items obtained there are used for a characters entire life

If I stand on my head and play blindfolded I am sure I can stretch wardens keep out even further!
Not being able to re-enter your keep was simpley a lazy design decision. Yes, the items you can get are useable throught a characters life. However, imo the difficulty of getting the items does not even come close to the power of the items. I think, if they added a few simple "events" to the keep and the ability to re-enter it, I'd feel the dlc was worth it. Heck, how hard would it have been to add a few quests where you could get improvments to your keep? Or an event where the keep is attacked? If the dlc items were thrown into those quests instead of handed out..

Also, lets not forget that wardens keep didnt come bug free. The mage spell bloody grasp has an effect that lasts until you die.

I am hoping that when they are revisiting the new dlc, they are adding in more then achievements. Honestly, I am disappointed that anyone even cares about those.

contrary to what some people claim, you guys at bioware responded to customer concerns. not many developers do that. kudos to bioware for doing that. module sounds cool, and i was buying either way, but it's nice to see input being considered.

I can't believe they had to knock the price down from five dollars. If you can't afford five dollars for an hour of new content then you probably shouldn't be spending money on games, period.

it's not exactly a secret that ps3 coding is more cumbersome than xbox. i have the pc version, so i'm not really part of this xbox-ps3 war thing, but xbox is older and probably easier to program for. there is no conspiracy against you.

3$ would be a proper price for this piece of DLC,since you can get return and warden's keep for 10$.I might actually be interested in getting both for 10$ combined(both combined would be more or less on par with something like operation:anchorage :P).

I'm still curious if they ever intend to address the Warden Commander's armor issue (as it's set bonus of an increase to constitution and decrease in stamina/mana cost for skills and spells does not register therefore does not activate). So if Cailin's armor has a set bonus I hope they at least get it so that it functions properly. Anyway reguardless of the DLC length I'd buy it as I'm curious to see exactly how messed up Ostagar got after the battle.
