There's an awful lot of empty map space in the deep roads :)

The Kadesh Thaig was one of my favorite parts of the deep roads. I missed so much the first time through...and the 2nd time. You can go between all the houses and there's back allies and loot...and more loot... If Kadesh Thaig is any example of upcoming items, sign me up. If you haven't thoroughly explored it, get off the main road there. Its' pretty impressive. Reminded me a little of Ilos.

Agreed about Shale's Thaig, that was a great side quest (the best by far, although I did like Leliana's too).

As for RtO, really it needs to be released tomorrow AT THE LATEST. Small content like this is not enough to bring most people who are done with the game back, so the longer you wait the more people who are going to be "done" with the game are going to pass on it. And every day that number grows larger.

A 5 hour DLC would have people come back, but a 1 hour probably not. Just my 2cp and also a plug to release the darn thing already!

Hey, I heard that DA:O will be released for Macs this holiday - the very same date as RtO DLC. My question is - will the DLC also be included in Deluxe Digital version or separately as a normal DLC?

Ok, its the holiday season

When the hell is this going to be made available

Hopefully BEFORE X-mas

Judging from the last update, there seems to be a good chance that it won't be until January because of the recertification process.

You're referring to the 360 and not the PC I hope.

Ripping People off ? Any online mmo.

I have two comments here:

1) MMOs are not the same thing as DA:O. THis is a stand along game, so your comparison is like comparing apples to dogs.

2) For someone swo bored with this game you sure are trolling this forum a lot. Interesting, no?

The last updates on this from Rob were: "Based on some of the feedback in this thread, we made the decision to
revisit Return to Ostagar and make some small improvements, including
the addition of a new Ostagar-specific achievement/trophy and a
reduction in the price. This has required a patch/title update and some
additional testing and certification. This has pushed our dates back
and I can confirm that the PS3 version will not arrive until the New
Year. For PC and X360, we're still working hard to get it out in time
for Christmas but we're not out of the woods quite yet. We'll put out
another press release once we're 100% confident of the dates."

And

"One possible solution (and it may come to that) is that all content
gets held until the PS3 version is fully signed off. It's simply a
matter of Sony's certification process taking longer than those on the
other platforms (PC is the quickest, then Xbox, then PS3). Generally,
we try to budget sufficient time in our schedules to accommodate that
but, in this particular case, our late-stage changes started eating
into that extra time that we had set aside. As a result, a Christmas
release of the PS3 version became impossible. Right now, we're on the
knife edge to see if we can get the X360 version out in time - they did
find a critical issue that we're currently working hard to fix. PC
still appears to be on track but anything can happen."

If all content gets held for the PS3 version, that would mean they're all waiting until January.  Otherwise...welll..there's a few weeks left until Christmas, so we can always hope. :)

Also people seem to be complaining about the size and time of the DLC. The game has only been out for 1 month now. Most other games don't see DLC until quite a few months after their release. I doubt releasing a 5 hour DLC would bring back the people who've moved on from the game as they've probably already moved on to the next game they've been waiting for and complaining on the lack of content for that game. I also find it odd that people are complaining about Warden's Keep price of $7 when Shales (for those that don't buy the game new) have to pay $12.

yes because 4 dollars instead of 5 is such a huge diference pffff give me a break

Times that difference by a few hundred thousand and then come and tell me they aren't losing a lot of money by lowering the price. Don't worry, I'll wait.

Ugh, no more deep roads please, I've been wanting to skip that part but found I couldn't on my 2nd playthrough, I keep shale where he is, being pooped on by pigeons after the first time I took him along. Personally I'd like more city maps like denerim, you can leave anytime you want and it's not all darkspawn and spiders.

That price reduction is a bit annoying. I mean, sure, I don't have to spend as many points on it, but I already bought the points I'd need, so I'm going to have 80 points left over.

A possible solution to what I wonder. In any case, I really hope that's not the case; I'd like to get some playtime in before my Christmas break is over.

Add more banter/romance/story line and I'll pay whatever.

I wholeheartedly agree! I especially hope that players who finished the game with a high persuade skill and consequently ended up in a certain position of rank (oh, trying to keep this spoiler free!) will have a few special dialogue options with the person alluded to in the original dev post. <3

Additionally, I would just like to say that I would have bought the DLC regardless of price, because I love this game pretty much like I loved BG2, and I hope that these smaller DLCs will be successful enough to make it worth BW's while to develop larger DLCs/expansions!

I think folks should not hold their breath for this one.

I do not believe there will be something out for Xmas.

Bioware should probably focus on adding more content to this DLC so that when it comes out folks will get more hours of entertainment out of it

You all must also remember that the DLC has to go to consoles too. 100 level random dungeon stuff happened in neverwinter nights true but that isn't to say it would happen as easily on a console (No, im not knocking consoles. :) ). Im just happy with what we are being offered really in teh long run. It just confuses me why so much hate considering that the DLC isn't force apon you. Most has been free so far outside of Warden's keep that a lot got free with the Collectors. So why exactly the hate over it is beyond me.

Unless of course by lowering the price they pick up additional sales, which could in fact increase the overall profitability of the product.  Lower cost per unit does not equal less total revenue or profit.

I know it may be a little early to speak of other DLC but they could make some quests in the future involving Antiva, the Anderfels, Highever, Orlais and all those cities the characters mention but cant visit in the game. Or they could make an expansion pack with this in it. The game can be expanded in a number of ways because of the story and they can keep people playing it for awhile if they wished.

waiting for this DLC and the price is cheap
people so don't complain on it.As someone else said
most games don't have DLC for a few months
DA:O  with Bio is doing well in my opion.

On the main menu, there is a menu called DLC, and another one that is greyed out called Other Campaigns. I think they do plan to create other places like Antiva, Orlais, etc. The campaign menu looks like it'll feature those places.

And I look forward to it, provided it is not something that you can finish in one evening.

Thanks for the update, Rob. I'm very much looking forward to this DLC and I'm beyond happy to hear about the price reduction and addition of an achievement. It's decisions like those that will keep loyal fans loyal. ;)

I'd just like to say...

Please-oh-please-oh-please don't make those of us using the PC and X-box version wait til after the new year just because Sony takes to long with their certifications!

After 7 play throughs I'm dying for the new content before I start #8!

I so can't wait for this! I'm on my 4th play through, On Human Noble and love the opening story line, teared up! Wish Wardens Keep was larger, like that mine, and the houses nearby. Also wish the camp would move to there or that we have an option to move to that base. We could go inside again and see the cleaned up version because that dude said his family straightened it up. In this DLC i hope we can get both Duncan and the Kings armor. But who knows, we'll see when it gets here and it can't be soon enough :)

Will it be possible to pay for this excellent add-on as a normal, law-abiding user, but download and install it manually (i.e. not using the DAUpdater service, but the DAUpdater.exe) offline?

I don't want to hook my computer up to EA's servers until I get a clear answer about what info they collect about their users, and what they use that info for.
