What's your secret to prolong such long replayability as yours?
What was your motives when you start over again?

Judging from the last update, there seems to be a good chance that it won't be until January because of the recertification process.

A note to the people at Bioware, quite penalizing the PC market. I am sorry Sony is a crap company to deal with and slow as a 7 year itch. I know people that feel the pain Sony device and game owners go through but that is no reason to hold back content from PC gamers.

As a professional game/software/hardware reviewer I can tell you it has been a long time since I have played a game and found joy as just a player. I am usually looking for issues, finding things that make the game great or crap. With Dragon Age after my initial review I found joy just playing it.

Part of what I liked was it did not feel like a console port. The game seemed seperate from the console version and seemed to capture the soul of a good PC RPG. However a decision to make PC gamers wait for the console version takes away a lot of that feel.

I am sorry that the conmsole version takes longer to certify and get ready for release but this should not be a penaltiy to the PC gamer. We suffer enough penalities from consoles ranging for being forced to accept second hand drivel after a console release to not getting the games we like at all because the company decided to make it console only.

Bioware I have no issue with you making console games, you are a business and making money is paramount, however if you are going to make a PC game then make a PC game and do not force PC gamers to be on hol,d because some concole company is salow at certification.

The game should never have come out on consoles anyway. Not only did we have to put up with console kids crying about the difficulty of the game, we also had to endure endless delays with no end in sight.

Its been stated previously how this is a large monetary gain to BioWare, albeit its more towards the P.C type of game but i found it easily adapted into the console version, which i play myself, and both the P.C, which i also played. I believe it fits well into both Console and P.C gaming. Both sides have "kids  crying about the difficulty of the game".
However i do agree with the delays, they are pretty bad.

I for one would strongly object to the content being held back because of the PS3 version.

I have nothing against PS3 version players, but frankly if Sony want to be difficult about this, it's Sony's problem. Let their customers vote with their wallets if they don't like it.

Release the other versions when they're ready, please.

TRUTH ALERT.  If one platform requires a long test cycle, that platform's users should suffer through it or benefit from it.  It's not like the extra time is going to allow the PC version to get better... since the PC version's changes, if tweaked, would then have to restart all the other versions test cycles.

Considering I have both a PC and a PS3, whilst I have got the game on the former and so have a slightly biase reason to say this, I think even if I had got it on the PS3 I wouldn't have worried too much if the PC got the content first, I would gladly just wait until the certification came through for the PS3 to have it and not complain about PS3 getting it later.

There is tons of games that go either way, where released on PS3 first then on PC later or other way around. That is just the nature of business. Mass Effect if I recall first came out on the X-Box before coming to the PC, if they had done the same with the sequel, I wouldn't have been too bothered as long as they did a good job of the PC version.

So, yeah, please don't delay this on the PC just because of Sony being slow with their certifications. I have some playthroughs on hold at the moment as I want to go exploring that DLC before getting to a later stage (or completing it) and it just seems silly that if it is ready for launch to hold it back because of another system. I actually prefer the idea of exploring as many of the DLCs whilst going through the game rather than in the post-ep stage as some sort of 'tacked on' thing. Granted in time I will no doubt be in a position where I am doing that constantly, unless I start anymore characters than the 10 I already have started (3 of which are completed).

Same thought applies for the patches, I know some of the console owners with the game got a bit uppity about the last patch, but seriously I would imagine that the number that complained pales in comparison to the number that have the game on the console.

I have to agree with Von Lichenswhatever; I also have a PC and PS3, and I just can't imagine being upset over having to wake a couple of weeks more than a PC user for content... we're kind of used to it by now. Trine, DLC, Fallout... everything just comes later to the PS3.

As a 360/PC owner I can say that a delay for this to be released just to have it release at the same time across all platforms will be met with a crap load of complaining. If the PC and 360 versions are ready on time then they should be released on time as well. The PS3 had to wait for the game a bit after the PC and 360 release. So I see no reason why the DLC can't follow the same Model and be released on time for those 2 systems if it's ready.

Who does it help to delay the PC/Xbox versions to coincide with the PS3? Beyond the catharsis of "misery loves company", the answer is "no-one". The PS3 owners will still have to wait just as long, dragging everyone else down with them wont solve that.

If PS3 owners want to get angry about that, then they should direct that anger at the source - Sony.

Maybe it has something to do with the forums being riddled with spoilers if it's only released on one platform. Or what if the players on that platform think the dlc isn't good, the console users might be more hesitant to buy it then, that would mean some loss of revenue. Still I'm no fan of consoles and I would prefer any crpg to be available on the PC first and foremost. But then I do love some of the player made mods.

Thanks to the PS3 the 360 version could get held back?? This game should not have been released on the PS3 its more suited to the PC and Xbox 360 in my opinion. So the original price was 560msp?? Wow I watched a video interview stating that the DLC would only last around 20-30mins so even at 400msp seems a bit pricey to me but oh well.

I hope the DLC does come out in time for X-Mas as I want to play the game again already beaten it 3 times :-D

My goals change for each play through.  I make different decisions (good/evil/in between) on the choices I'm given, different romance options (singly or multiple), how much I care about approval rating (fun to have the entire party dislike you btw), and I do things in a different order every time.  Sometimes I'll play through an entire plot point from start to finish at low level, or sometimes I'll do the intial parts and move onto another area before finishing everything and come back to it later when my character is in the later levels.

So many dialogs change just a little based on your origin story, the choices you MADE during the origin story, and your gender, so every play through there's something just a little bit different to experience.  That's the mark of a fantastic game to me.  One of my favorite play throughs was a ranger run.  Healer mage, three archer rogues with the ranger powers.  Cleaned up.

I've now got 5 more characters parked at the gate leaving Lothering waiting for this DLC, this is going to be fun.

I just hope we're not going to be subjected to waiting for Sony to do their thing.  There's so many games that only come out on PC months, if not a year after PS3 and/or XBox if we ever get it at all.  (GTA grrr)  It'd be nice for the PC gamers to get some love.

Is BioWare working next week?

It will be Christmas week. I've got a buddy at a big book publisher who is off this week and next week. I've also got a buddy at a smaller music publisher and they are off all next week. Those aren't personal vacations... the companies are closed. I'm thinking digital distros will be different, but what about testers and the certification teams? Will they be working right up to Christmas eve?

There is still hope it drops today. But I doubt it. Tuesdays are usually "The Release Day." So we would have heard by now. It's looking like next week is the drop... but I'm betting BioWare will be closed next week.

I would love to be wrong. :)

This is not right Bioware. You told us holiday season for return to ostagar and now you are saying it's being held back till January because the ps3 cant have it by Christmas. I can tell you that you just lost my respect for you. If you couldn't guarentee that it is out by the time you said so then you shouldn't have said holiday season. I know this won't happen but Return to Ostsgar should be released as free dlc for a short time because of this delay.

Er, no.  Life happens and they don't owe us anything.  If they do miss the "Holiday Season" part, I will peer disapproving over my glasses at them, sure, but I won't have any less respect for them.  $4.00 isn't bad, really.  I cant even get a good burger for that.  Not that free isn't nice.  :-)
