Any chances for further development of Warden's Keep and allowing players re-accessing it and "owning" the Keep in similar manner like d'Arnise for example?

A question. Does Bioware view small pieces of DLC, priced at about USD 5-7 an hour, to be the _sole_ revenue stream for Dragon Age expansion / content? Or are those of us who would like to see a proper XP (i.e. new NPC / adventure / 15-20 hours of gameplay) going to be disappointed? Personally I'm seeing the possibilty of this game becoming a single-player game with a MMO pricing model by stealth. And I'm not sure I like it.

This is a very good question that I'd like to see an official answer to;

Are there any planned expansions?

if the DLC is just 1 hour I find that disappointing. Warden's Keep was already incredibly short.

5 hour for 1 hour of game-play is fairly steep. Considering if in the next 2 years Bioware adds, let say, 100 hours of game play (which is only 2-3x as long as the orignal game) at the going rate you will be paying $500.
Perspective is not just what is 1 thing cost, but how much everything added together will cost.
But DLC is definitely more profitable for developers - it is the nickel and dime idea.

It's... 5..... dollars....

I smoke, pack of smokes is 10 bucks, a pack a day is 300 a month, which is then 3600 a year. Wait, holy ****, I gotta quit smoking.
Anyways, they won't add a hundred so you can keep your 500 bucks. I don't understand the price argument. At all.
It's 5 dollars. What ISN'T five bucks these days? You people who argue that "in these economic times.." and so forth are embarressing yourselves. Instead of ****ing how much your video games cost, got pick bottles. Better yet, suck up your pride and get a job.
I repeat, if you say you have no money for this, you make yourself look foolish for the following reasons:
A) If you can't afford five dollars for a DLC why did you spend 50-70 on the game? Thats a ****load of bread.
B) You should spend less time on a video game forum and more time picking bottles
C) No seriously, your still reading this? Go pick some freaking bottles.

Oblivion (Shivering Isle): 25 hours, $30.00 (but this was boring)

There really is no accounting for taste.

This one's a two-parter.

Will Return to Ostagar have additional Xbox LIVE achievements, and if it does, do you guys have something in mind to prevent another Stone Prisoner/Warden's Keep achievement fiasco for those who got the premium content and unlocked them in the first four days?

I'm not anticipating much of a reply to my question, which was sadly rhetorical. I think I know where this is going.

Average playtime is always tough to pin down because everyone's mileage
will vary (and developers player the game in a very different manner
than a typical first-time player). I can do a speed run (skipping
through conversations and cutscenes, using a buff party, controlling
Dog, avoiding some combats, ignoring loot drops, not looking at the
scenery, etc) in about 15-20 minutes. I suspect it would take a typical
first-time player about an hour to complete.

Fail. You'll get more money out of me when you release DLC worth 3 hours. I actually bought this game instead of pirating it or buying it used, trying to support Bioware, as EA is a fickle hateful master. I've bought every single one of your games I've been able to afford at the time to try to support you guys, but:

Please stop disappointing me with these short addons. Shale's an awesome character, but in no way worth 15$ I would of had to pay to get him, 5$ for new characters? Worth it if the personality is right. I like the idea of giving extra content to people who legitly buy your games, that's fine, but Warden's Keep, and now this addon, seem like stuff that should of been in from day 1. You would of been better off holding off for a few more weeks, and releasing Warden's Keep and Ostagar together for 10$.

I may be overreacting, but this to me just feels like Lionhead/Molyneux, in Black and White 1's expansion pack, where they sold you a 30$ expansion that did nothing but enable a few toggle switches enabling some stuff and add some textures to stuff that was already in game.

Don't get me wrong, I'll probably buy all the DLC's as they come out, because i love the game. I just personally prefer larger expansions at longer intervals. I still think most of us are getting our feet wet as far as understanding all the mechanic's / quest's and what not in the original version, and there's already been one, now two, optional DLC's shown. Honestly, I think some of the user generated content that we can expect to see could be even longer then Wardens Keep was, and that's just going to be coming out for free from the community once people get used to the tool set.

I'm just hoping to see more "expansion pack" type material released, not just the DLC's.

Anyways, DLC related question, Will this fix / push us up past the level 25 NaN cap? Or will it remain at 25?

I see a lot of people saying, "It's just $5 dollars."

I agree... five dollars isn't that much. I still think it's a little steep for one hour of entertainment. The only other way to spend more than that per hour on entertainment is at a major concert or possibly at the movies if you live in a bigger city.

The problem, I think, is that in the past, we have been able to expect true expansions with full, coherent stories. If we are willing to pay $5 for on hour chunks, then we are giving the game industry the green light to never again make REAL expansion packs. I have no doubt that 1 hour chunks at $5 per pop is easier and cheaper and way more profitable for devs. Consumers determine the market value of this content. Demand more and you'll get more if the devs can swing it. Demand less and you'll get less whether the devs can swing more or not. Don't be sheep people.

WK felt short, and it featured a lot of recycled content.

I'd like new DLC to last about 2-3 hours (for $5.00) and show me something I haven't already seen in game. It'd also be best if the DLC was added to the end game.

Here's a question... how much will the patch cost us? Will that be 560 or 1200 points?

Yup. The unanimous feedback from players on Warden's Keep was that it was too short. They're coming back with DLC that is equally short. Not good although it is $2 cheaper.

I actually liked Warden's Keep, so you can toss the "unanimous" statement out. I think there is too much obsession over "hours played". If the game didn't have the stat built in, to be honest, I would have no idea how much time I had invested, and as long as I was enjoying it, I wouldn't care.

Another thing to consider is this game has been barely out two weeks and this will be the third DLC. By the time the DLC is released, the game will be a tad over a month old. It may be short, but I'm sure it will be packed with quality fun.

Unfortunately, there will be some sort of complaint no matter what they do, but I like what I am seeing, and I wouldn't be surprised if the longer DLCs are in the works, but I think its unrealistic to expect them a month after release.

Day one buy for me. Thank you for concentrating on creating new content & for also coming up with these smaller, reasonably priced content items to keep things fresh & interesting. $5.00 is a good price point for what I see described & I'll have no problem paying it to add to an already Epic gaming experience.

My only question was where it would fit in with the story, but that was already answered. I just figured I'd still post since it's normally the nay-sayers who end up being the vocal ones.

I think folks need to take it easy on bioware as i would hazard a guess thats it's the good old money **** that is EA that handles the finace side of things.

The bioware points was likey their idea too as they knew full well the kind of outrage they'd recieve if they had been called EA points.

Sadly it looks like EA is going to drag Bioware down with it.

Not finacially of course, unfourtunatly EA are still doing well but morally and in the eyes of the community they're dragging Bioware down into the muck with them.

For the first time ever my faith in Bioware has been shaken. The good doctors should never have sold out.

What they should have done is fallen in a blaze of non-glory, like Black Isle.

Will the new areas effect happenings in the later game or end game? Will the story change in any ways?

I suppose all the people crying that the sky is falling might be able to wait until next summer and then by as the previous DLC in a bundle at discount and pretend it is an expansion.

Hopefully not, and going to go with probably not myself.  Given that there isn't one for Stone Prisoner.

I've played the game enough and also done all the DLC and I can honestly say as a pc user that it has too much of a console feel.

Stone Prisoner was worth it (got it free with prebook), but Warden's Keep realy WAS too short.

For math purposes and very rough estimates, this is how I figure the current DLC: $5-$7 on average for the DLC (with Warden's keep in mind) each having about 1 hr of gameplay. For 5 hrs it would be $25-$35 U.S.. That would be getting close to a full expansion or part of the way to a FULL GAME. I'll let you guys think on the rest of it.

I'd buy it if it was available now, while I'm still playing, but since it's not coming out for a while, I most likely won't. It won't add anything to the experience for me, playing for an hour after the end.

The fact that I don't like the idea of slowly being milked for cash is another reason - I'd happily spend $30 on a substantial (let's say 15 hours) expansion, but I won't keep buying little snippets of gameplay for $5 at a time. It's a marketing and game design strategy that makes great sense for the developers, but it's not in my interest to encourage it.

If more DLC continues along these lines, the only way I'll get it is if a couple years down the road, they put out some kind of Gold or Platinum edition of the game that combines all of it.

Look at it this way, it's half the price of a movie ticket, but longer than half a movie. And you can see it more than once for the price of one admission. :P (no coffee here)

I hope with every patch they add a new salesman at the camp. By next year there will be a whole line of them around the camp fire. That'd be awesome =)
