Available this holiday season.
If they don't intend to do this, why not change it on their official site?

Cynical answer: It would look bad for Christmas sales.
Hopeful answer: We'll get it on the 22nd.
Most likely: Life happened and some stuff got screwed up. Now someone will try to pretend the days after New Years are the "holiday season."
I'm going with Hopeful. :-D

They messed up.!!! They should have never announced it for the Holidays if they couldn't deliver the goods. I don't get what the big deal about it is anyway from what I've read about it this DLC will be shorter than Wardens Keep. I was all excited about the addon till I read that Wardens keep was a real disappointment and too short.
I wish they would leave the short Mods to the modding community and come out with some full expansions that last longer than 20-30 minutes. If Bioware wants $10-$20 for a real full expansion I don't mind that. But $5-$15 for less than an hour of teasing I can do without.
Precisely I am not upset it's delayed. That's normal. I'm upset with the whole way they announced it SO MANY TIMES.
It's coming out Soon soon soon soon soon soon soon soon soon!
You're both complaining because they listened to people complaining and tried to make the product they just announced better?
So you wanted them to not listen to the complaints and just release it. In that case stop complaining so they don't have things to change in the future.
In either case please kindly STFU. (Stop typing forum uselessness. (Or something))

We're complaining cause they said it will be out in the holiday season and then it isn't and they came up with excuses. Why not just wait till they know they will release it to announce?
If the cable guy told you to expect him to come 2pm to 6pm and then told u at 1pm that he is going to do some research and then charge you $1 cheaper but won't be coming today but maybe sometime later but you don't know when. Would you complain?
I respectfully decline your offer to STFU.

You call them "excuses", but that's pretty baseless. They've been forthright about what is causing the delay. That you don't like the reason doesn't turn it into an excuse.

There's an important difference between reasons and excuses. They announced it early because they didn't know they were going to have to delay it, obviously. They thought it would be ready for a Christmas release and they were wrong. Surely, for this they will go to hell.

So basically if you handed in an assignment that you told your boss would be in say next tuesday and you handed in on wednesday due to unexpected circumstances. It's a reason and not an excuse? And you shouldn't be held responsible?
It's a dateline they gave themselves. They should have put in a buffer for unexpected stuff hitting the fan scenarios.
Just ignore me cause i'm obviously the only person who's disappointed in having hopes raised and then dashed.

Its a
frustrating reality that the developers get caught between their enthusiasm /
peer pressure to release and their ability to produce the goods within the now
specified timescale. We all wish they would wait until it was a finished item
before they even enlighten the clamouring hordes, but it seldom happens due to
the clamouring hordes being insistant on new and challenging content at the drop
of a hat. So they anounce early to appease and then find themselves slated for
anouncing too early.
If you want 2-3 hrs+ of original and rewarding extra
content then you have to expect to wait a few months for its conception, design
and production. If this release has been delayed for tweaking and improvement
after the feedback from these forums then how can we complain. At least they are
consulting their fanbase and taking note of our views, the complete opposite of
many software houses Sony etc..
If we have to wait an extra few days for a
better and cheaper product then what is the problem??
Be a bit more
understanding people and a bit more appreciative of the effort that appears to
be going into the production of this DLC.

It's not an assignment. It's a piece of commercial art that they produce, essentially, at their leisure. They don't owe you sh*t, if you get right down to it. I don't think you understand the concept of "unforseen delays". The problem with them... is you don't see them coming. They did put in a buffer for unexpected stuff hitting the fan, that's why the release date was nebulous to begin with. They have since been completely upfront about what is causing the delay and currently do not know when the release will be authorized, so they aren't putting forward any new dates because they would have to pull one out of their ass and just go back on it later anyway.
My question to you is this: aside from travelling back into the past and seeing this unforseen roadblock ahead of time, what would you have them do differently?

Simple. Only announce when the DLC is 100% ready to be released. We already know there will be 2 years of DLC. No need to announce something that is not out yet.

Projected release dates are understandable for real expansions. A for instance shivering isles for Oblivion, but this is just a mini mod not a true expansion. Any modder with a good understanding of the toolset can create what Bioware is with this DLC, probably in fact make it better as the long line of great mods for Oblivion and elder scrolls 3 morrowind can attest.
Really? Sweet, get on it. Let me know how re-hiring the original voice cast works out.

The voices are just a added plus I would take great mods over voices being added to them any day out of the week. lol

But I don't think it's exactly fair to say that one modder can do in a weekend what a dedicated team of programmers, artists and game designers spent weeks and months designing, executing and assembling a business plan for.

Well, the cheese stands alone, my friend. There are great mods already and surely more to come, but I look forward to DLC with new bits of official story, new voice acting, original atwork (though we're actually getting an extensive reworking of already existing artwork here). Mods are not to be discounted and are a big part of what I love about this game, but DLC adds things to the game mods simply CANNOT. And I suppose that's true, in reverse.

Well Bioware has had a whole team working on this Return to Ostagar mod for at least 2 months to be realisic about it. I'm sure they had it all planned out before they released the game. from the details Bioware has giving about this DLC it's going to be another 30-60 mod like Warden keep was, and that DLC was disappointing to say the least. I'm all for the DLC content just make it worth our while and money.
I would rather myself spend $15-$25 for a real expansion that takes me hours to go through than a glorified dungeon crawl that leaves you feeling empty at the end. The main campaign and story is great for the most part , and revolutionary as far as the scope and detail they went to making this game. Which in turn has turned into a double edged sword for them because they have raised the bar so high for themselves.
We just have a difference of opinion on this subject. My constructive critism to Bioware is to help them make the game better because I want to see the game become better than what it is for all of us. For the record I will buy return to Osagar whenever they release it I just want them to keep in mind that in future content many people on here not just myself would like some larger scale content.

On the same topic, will there be a new option for purchasing BioWare points? Currently, the smallest option is $5 for 400 points. So far, BioWare/EA have been good about not forcing us to purchase extra points. If that changes, I'll be the first one to stop buying any more DLC for this game.

So, does anyone know the new price of this DLC? Rob said that they intended to lower the price from its original $5 point, but I haven't seen the new price quoted anywhere.

No idea I read about the lowering of the price too. But so far no info on the actual price now.

Ps3 usually updates on Thursday, but next week during the holidays it will be on Tuesday the 22nd.
Which after reading a post on the Ps3 DAO forums has me wondering if we wont get the DLC on Tuesday if all of them update on that day.
