Just curious about the contents of the DLC... And I wonder who that survivor is? It's that you can kill him in game, otherwise I would place my bets on the guy in the cage XD "Too skinny, we take others, more munchy!"

I'm guessing the survivor is Dog cause they said you can add him to the party if you never already did. Maybe if u already have dog he will get some tingling in his dog sense that brings u back to ostagar. Dog's companion quest!

"This Holiday Season" is developer speak for it'll be out when it is out silly.I think it's ironic that they don't release any infor on release date and if you start a thread asking when will RTO be out you get directed to this thread.

It's a bit like tossing stuff into a black hole

I kind of doubt that.  :-)  I've got some friends in publishing, and those companies close for the Christmas holiday.  Anything that is going to ship or get ordered already has.  I'm willing to be it's the same with BioWare.  Of course, Cryptic just got their MMO's demo put together and ready for download.... so I  don't know for certain.  :-D

However, I think they're all at holiday and we're not going to see anything until after Christmas.

Lmao. True story.

People just need to have patience. The game is already huge, you can play it through six different times and have a different game almost every time... if it took you 30 hours to finish it once, that is roughly 30 hours x 6 playthroughs, that's 180 hours...

Don't you think they have better things to do than pander to whiny gamers? I, for one, would rather they keep radio silence and be hard at work on more fun stuff.

Totally agree, but I also think it is all a bad JOKE and they have cancelled RtO! :crying: And are just watching the forums laughing at all of us. Moderator response even if they just say after Xmas or something but no response is just wrong:(

Geez, it's only 5 bucks. Considering the age we live in where we pay $20+ a month to play online games you think it would be a steal. I've paid more to play other games DLC content that wasn't as good as this one sounds. Game Developers spend days making and developing the programming to make this optional content for us. They already made a large profit and will make more now that it's getting Game of the Year awards. They DON'T have to make DLC content, but I am willing to pay a small price to enjoy their hard work.

EA's marketing is probably laughing their ass off right now.  No matter how much we ****, moan, and groan about delays and size of the this DLC, we all know we'll bend over and buy it anyway

what i dont understand is this,

They have the Skill to produce this stuff, after all they made DA:O.

DA:O has around 80 hours in a single playthrough, not including specific Origin stuff.

We waited for the game for around 5 years, and they had to build the engine from scratch and make all the art work, actors voiceovers etc...

This DLC is 1 hour long playthrough, and has taken them at least 1 month, dont have to really build anything from scratch - ok maybe a little bit, but Ostagar as an area was in the original game.

If we said that it took them 60 months to make 80 hours of content form scratch, being 1.33 hours worth a month,

Why are they dragging their heels on this?

Yeah. BioWare isn't the hang up, it's the certification teams. BW probably doesn't want to say anything since pointing the finger at the cert teams might slow down the product they try to get the OK on.

I, however, can wave a certain finger at the cert teams.

A Dog companion quest eh? I can imagine it now... the quest is to find 4 Mystical Sites of Peeing for your dog to do, and that'll be an additional quest to lengthen gameplay by a whooping 2 minutes.

It shouldn't be called "Return to Ostagar" but rather "Stuck in Loathering"

On the bright side, instead of getting RTO for Christmas, we can buy ourselves some nifty Dragon Age clothing

There is already a Magic Weewee Quest.  Hit the Wiki for Dog quests, or PM me and I'll tell you.  ;-)

Hey BioWare, which Holiday season were you referring to? Easter? 4th of July? Quanza?

Doesn't it actually say earlier in this thread that the release date was pushed back a couple of weeks to comply with some of the requests/issues people had brought up in this very thread?

Either there is no pleasing some people, or its just easier to not click the blue bioware text so one can try to be smart...

Why does it have to be "either" at all?  :-D  It's both.
