I don't think I'm going to convince anyone who wants to believe that not destroying the Collector base though potentially can help beat the Reapers will wind up biting you in the butt afterwards. The path to hell is paved with good intentions afterall. Moving on.

I also like the info that the sound the guns make will be improved. The Fireower pack heavy pistol and assault rifle have a very satisfying sound let alone impressive damage so hopefully the guns will sound more like gun that shoot projectiles breaking the sound barrier.

Seems that way, judging by the name James Sanders. ^_^

Well the info here certainly cements ME3 as a 'wait for a sale' purchase for me.

Kinda
sad, as when they released the first big ben sniper trailer I was
aiming for a day one buy, for once. But this... This isn't the ME3 I was
hoping or even expecting.

I guess I should be thankfull for confirmation that they really sunk their own ship :(

You sure sound like an impulse buyer.

*sees awesome trailer*

"Yeah I'm can't wait to preorder this game!"

*Sees
a really indepth article that has the devs talking about minute details
such as improvements in lighting and level design but doesn't see the
plot going the way he wants it to*

"Yeah, I'll wait and see what Metacritic says first"

In anycase, your money, your perogotive

I'm personaly trying to construct a Time machine so i can propel myself into the future and bypass the long wait.  I'm that excited for Mass Effect 3, and i grow more so every passing day.

Does use of time travel violate the street date?  Technically I'm buying it after the release (in the future) and bringing it back the past (or the present)?

I can see the moderator tag just fine, but I'll still rebute you on your ill-worded comment.

First off, you have no idea about how I do my purchases or not. Most of the recent purchases I've done through steam, with some notable exceptions. By now, my catalouge of games I've yet to play but still bought on an impulse is getting quite decent. This isn't even mentioning other non-software related stuff I buy on impulses from time to time, my latest impulse buy buying just under 400 US$ this monday. So how about we ignore your poor attempt at a snide remark towards me in this avenue and adress the meat of the matter instead, shall we?

I was happy enough with ME1 and ME2 on an overall level to be interested in ME3 from the get go, and the quality of the movie trailer made me believe that Bioware was actually putting in effort on the conclusion. Problem now, seems to be that they are putting effort into 'packaging' but not the content of what is inside the packaging. Pacakging is nice and all to look at, the first time. However, it's what inside that ultimately determines wether I find the product filling or not.

Hype released is hype released, let us at least agree to that. When that is done, to get anything usefull from these kind of blurbs, is to see what they they 'dance around' and what they actually say.

What it basicly gets down to, for the sake of ME3 is this:
Characters being marginalized. I wasn't happy with Wrex in ME2, and I sure as hell won't be happy with Wrex v2 multiple times in ME3 for several of the people I came to know so far.

Poor handling of plotdevices. Plot moving in one direction is one thing I couldn't care less about. Plot being forced through poor storytelling, from a company that came to be BECAUSE of good stroytelling IS something I care alot about, though.

The comments about RPG is pure hype. No relevant data is showcased, if anything the topic is actually danced about. Quite a feat given that it's a topic that gots own section.

Possibly the most worrying comment: "Whether you killed or saved Wrex...the Rachni Queen decision...the council...If you have the opportunity to import a saved game then there is a lot of texture to the way that
shapes your story.  Players have made a lot of choices along the way.
We have a big spreadsheet
"
Now, I'm sure there are people that are wondering what's up with this comment, cause they only read it superficially. The problem is that it is spelled out in exact words.
Your choices is the texture to the way that shapes your story.
Texture.
By those words we are left with the exact same stuff we got in ME1 and ME2, but HOPED to get rid of in ME3. Choices not being what shapes the world (despite some of our choices being rooted in possible world changing variables), but merely paints it different colours.
You saved the council in ME1? Good, game plays out exactly the same in ME2 as if you didn't, we just paint a few lines here and there to claim a difference.

The only good stuff we actually get is about combat and stuff like that. In fact, if you only look at the actual data supplied, the leaks might as well have been for a random action shooter that never paid attention to roleplaying.
Sure, the stuff they are adding for the action sequences sound good enough. But from the sounds of it, they are also turning the game into something that is more like something EA could have released without Bioware, and not something I would have considered a company building up its reputation on roleplaying games to produce.

And an Atlas mech... Really.... I'm surprised I didn't see one comment yet about FASA's Sci-Fi franchise featuring Atlas mechs since... practically as far as I can remember having heard about Battle Tech, tbh. If i wanted to be a mechcommander, I'd load up a game devoted to that, rather than risk a mako/hammerhead v3. It's not exactly like the vehicle sections in the franchise so far have been 'inspiring', to say the least...

I'm just waiting for the 'God of War' like leaks next, on bossbattles where we have to use quick-time events to deal with enemies/bosses...

Please keep in mind that precious little info has been released from the game (compared to what will likely be revealed at E3)     a dozen or so screen shots and some articles.   And we are still almost a year from release.

The bit about textures and everything is sort of just assumption.  Acctually it is just assumption.   You really dont know if its going to be that way until

a.)  you play the game

b.)  Casey Hudson says so in an interview (unlikely)

c.)  You build a TARDIS and go into the future and play the game (not gonna happen)

Getting snide comments from a moderator tends to ****** me off, yes.

But did you have anything real to add, or did you just want to add a schoolboy silliness to the thread?

Accusing others of schoolboy silliness? That's rich. As is snarking back at someone who is here to enforce the forum rules. But that's your perogative. As is how you spend your money. We really don't care that you don't want to pre-order a game that we know little about so far. Actually, I would suggest that very few people have already locked in pre-orders.

Then again, no one MADE you play the games, or the "uninspired" vehicle sections.  You can stop anytime.

Were they perfect?   no.   Thier were parts that annoyed me with the mako, and the hammer head was more or less a glass cannon, but did i have a good time anyways ?

Hells yes.   Because if i was'nt i would have shut the game off an just not played it anymore.

SalsaDMA...what the hell lol. If you can't handle that people have differing opinions, you shouldn't be on the internet. Javier's comment really wasn't snide, and being a moderator doesn't mean he isn't allowed an opinion. Calm down for a second.

who's betting I get an angry wall of text in reply?

Thank you.

And to add to that....

The Hammer head was a huge step in the right direction (my opnion) by making the Normandy's ground craft more mobile (jumping with that thing and hitting the afterburners was a rush)   Launching missles was fantastic.

Like i said, only problem, was that it was extremely fragile.

And hover crafts rule.  :)

So i personaly have faith that ME3 will have improvements over me 2
