ON CHARACTER RE-DESIGN:
"We have to update the look," Watts continues, referring to Jack, Ashley and Kaidan's refesigns "And the people who redesign the characters are the same people who did the original characters; and they know best how these things are supposed to mature. Stuff changes. Garrus' armour is going to change. Even Shepard has changed quite a bit. His armour has changed a lot since the first Mass Effect"

That's actually a good thing, since it shows us how everybody's evolved from the first game.

it's kind of surreal for them to put into plain words that your choice at the end of ME2 doesn't mean anything - no more pretention after ME2 made the council decision irrelevant

oh well

the rest of the list looks really promising

They didn't say that at all.....

Jack with a ponytail. I guess I'll have to see it to really know if it has the "right" look.

Why do I get the mental image that Jack will try to look like Juhani? I blame Epantiras for her Mess Perfect parody comic.

@Epantiras: Still love you though.

They didn't say that at all. If at some point (let's say after beating them) you get access to all of the tech that Cerberus was developing from the Collector base then the choice is validated. They're being an enemy at the start doesn't preclude that.

i was hoping for something bigger than "if you kept the base you get an extra pistol"

More like, "We can use this tech to help against the Reapers"

I'm GLAD they are making it an RPG-Shooter like ME1 and not Shooter-RPG. The game needs to be an RPG before anything else. Expand class trees, and make customization more expansive.

I'm also appreciative that Bioware is making it more realistic. Games were you have to use cover are ridiculous sometimes, because there would be a random box or pile of sandbags in a building or street that doesn't seem to have sign of warfare, but are there for your use when you get there.
Besides making the game "SWAT," they should make character armor strong and reliable like that of ME1 were cover WASN'T VITAL.

I'm glad they mentioned Thane, but it doesn't seem like he'll be a permanent squaddie if he's off galivanting around the galaxy. :(

Number 5's hair with number 1's outfit would be perfect to me.

As soon as we learned that we're fighting Cerberus no matter what it should have been obvious the CB decision was made irrelevant like the Council one.

"Regardless of how you finished ME2, Cerberus are now your enemy and are throwing their black and yellow-clad commandos at Shepard for reasons he'll discover later in the game when, as Bioware confirm then Illusive Man
returns"

I'm a little disappointed in this. I wasn't a Cerberus loyalist or anything. But i didn't want to be their enemy either. An extremist group during life or death situations can be very useful.

miranda has to be in the game. i wouldve thought more than anyone bar me1 characters she would play a major role. maybe shes against you and not as a squad member?

As far as combat go, ME3 will be just like ME2, but improved of course. The RPG will be elsewhere, like it has to be.

I know it's been mentioned a lot already, but reading about how real Vancouver seems to be portrayed in game is making me all kinds of happy. VANCOUVERRRRRRRRR
