I can't seem to launch Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate anymore. I had been playing it fine till I stopped for a couple weeks (had gotten my Xbox360 back), and when I tried to play today, the game won't launch. Whenever I click "Play" in the launcher (stupid launcher, I wish games would stop using them), I get the Steam window that says "Preparing to launch Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate edition..." then the launcher comes back up. I even get this when I try to run "DAOrigins.exe" manually.  Nothing has changed on my system, I've already rebooted, and I've already installed the latest drivers.

Any ideas what's going on?

Edit: I've already verified the game files in Steam. I'm re-installing the game now.

For the time being, let's start with pretending it never did run before, and just follow the initial procedures in the stickie as if that was the case ("Read First").

Reinstalling the vcredist_x86.exe? Yeah, did that.

I suppose the vc±± installerneeded a reboot, Dragon Age: Origins is working again.
