You're going to fail once you've spent all of the metal shards in the world since there's no merchant with an infinite store, sadly. The leg- and shrapnel traps are the bread and butter for Rogues when they have to fight solo against hard-hitting dudes.

And using a pet... no, I don't really consider that soloing, since it serves the same purpose as a partymember. In fact, a pet is like shapeshifting mage in all aspects.

Well, I'm in the Circle now, I killed the Sloth demon so back out of the fade and towards the last boss I go. The -aggro% belts are of no use to me, since I don't have a pet. I finally have combat stealth, so everything except bosses I can deal with much easier now. Very close to level 9.

How did you manage to solo the mercenary encounter in the dwarven noble origin story? You can't stealth past it or split them using a longbow (dialogue), you must kill them all to advance the quest, the opponents are too numerous to defeat in combat for a lone rogue, and (afaik) you can't make traps or grenades by that point in the game.

I killed Uldred too. It's a really tough fight without a pet, because you have to stay in melee range otherwise he casts Crushing Prison. And he keeps knocking you out of melee range with his massive attacks. I don't think this fight can be done solo without a DEX based Rogue, you just wouldn't be able to survive the melee.

Hey, I'm in the Werewolf lair now, level 12, and I'm getting my ass kicked by Shadow Wolves. I could Stealth past that whole part and skip to the boss fight but I don't want to. Anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with them? The problem is that the use overwhelm on you out of stealth, so it's too late when you see them and I haven't been able to figure out where they all hide on the map, or whether they actually spawn out of nowhere. At least some of them are hiding on a couple of corners, and I can unstealth them by throwing grenades but not all, and they suddenly appear even when you manage to single pull other werevolves.

Chapter 3 of the Playthrough is on youtube:
www.youtube.com/watch

Chapter 3 feautures a lot of werevolves, ogres and shades. I will
also show you how to get Falon'Din's Reach (the best bow in game before
the Landsmeet) at level 8.

i notice on the first set of bandits you fire scatter shot into the grp. The solo bandit behind is also affected, but i never saw an aoe target, how was the solo bandit stunned, does scatter shot just hit everyone in visual range regardless of their actual position relative to the archer?

The range for scattershot is huge, its almost as big as your screen and will usually hit all enemies.

The most important stats are dex (for skills and damage) and Str (for wearing armor and damage).
The damage factor for shooting with longbows is (dex+str)/2 while dex gives some other bonuses useful for an archer and str does not.
The magic number for dex is 34 to wield the best weapons and for strength 30 to wear the best armor. The rest goes into cunning up to 22 for stealth level 4. Some willpower to support your passives and all remaining points into con.
If you dont solo you can put the points from con and willpower into dex to some extent.

In the next video i will include a few screens of my stats and talent build and maybe also explain some thoughts behind it.

When Soloing with a Rogue on the X-Box 360 because I cant control my pet would it be better to go Str/Dex over Dex/Cunn to get the ex Armor protect?

The moment you admit to cheating using the exp glitch I lost any interest in this "solo" game.

Sorry but I stand with the "using a pet is not soloing" crowd. But goodluck with your endevours anyway.

I am losing interest since your are exploiting bugs such as leiliana not dying during the wolf pack attack. She doesn't die because you did not accept her into your party and can not die or fall until you accept her into the party.

I bought all the grenades in the camp and saved every single one I found up to that point, I ran and hit him with grenades, used Dirty Fighting whenever it was off cd to stun and get a couple of hits in before running away. The kill was epic, because I was out of grenades, and he was about to die, so I chained my specials and he dropped. :D

That is awesome. Wish we had a vid :)
