DA:O. The Flemith in DA2 was just too over the top for me. An eighty year old, with the body of a twenty year old, the hair, it just didn't fit. DA:O her appearance fit what the story. Unassuming, is she trying to help, or does she have other motives, is she dangerous. Is she really thee Flemith.

I think she's really Captain Janeway in disguise. I bet Q put her there for his own nefarious means.

@CaptainBlackCigars

Hehe, yeah I must of missed it because of the cockney accent ^_^

I love DA2's Flemeth. She's human looking on an Elf looking body with robes of a mage and limb armor off of a warrior. She looks unique, which she is. She shouldn't just be an old woman with two different skin colors (seriously, that weird. Are we supposed to think her chest skin color is actually a part of her outfit? I can see that, but when I look at that model I just see two different skin colors.)

DA:O Flemeth was hot. DA2... meh, only lukewarm.

If I was a centuries-old magic-user, most of the time I'd prefer to remain inconspicuous.

However, if I was a centuries-old magic-user, one of the most powerful individuals alive on the whole of the planet, and could turn into a dragon, I'm sure as **** ain't going to look like just another old hag when flauntin' and swooping around all BAMF-like. Or, you know, when making a display of my awesomely massive stunning magical prowess by essentially "miraculously returning from the dead", even if the witnesses didn't know it at the time.

It's not like it's going to be all Mexican knife fight time between the two looks over which is the one and only canon appearance for Flemeth, or anything. This ain't Thunderdome. I think they work quite well with the situations they were used in.

If she's in DA3, I hope that there is enough opportunities to encounter her as both the crazy old hag and the awesomesauce armor-wearing dragon mage. Heck, I hope we get more than just those two looks for her. She is obviously so much more than she appears to be in any form, after all.

I think she should have been upgraded from her more generic appearance in DAO, but it was far more appropriate. Flemeth in DAII is just too over-the-top.

Yes ;)

I still think its too jRPG/Anime-ish for my tastes. C'mon, old people ain't supposed to make you tingle in the pants!

Its too bad they heavily hyped Flemmy in the PR, and it turns out you only interact with her for 5 minutes.

At least it's an eons-old woman and not a main hero that looks like she could be just under 10 years of age yet is remarkably perky and is supposedly "18".

short answer neither. In the DA:O she was old, ugly and kinda generic due the graphical limitations. That was fine back then because she wasn't that much of a major character and we all thought thats all that she was supposed to be.

Fine, now in DA2 she has this "sexy" grandma look which I find ridiculous and creepy....
I also don't see it fitting the character. I would have been fine with it if it were made clear that she got a new body (also they should've made that body young, I mean why would she take an old body anyway?) or they should've stuck with the old hag look.

Isn't that how marketing on DA2 worked?

What a load of bull feces!Image IPB The choices either all lead to the same conclusion, or we were railroaded by the plot(looking at you, Act 3).

HEY! This isnt a why I hate DA 2 thread, so keep your comments to yourself! Image IPB

Anyways... Im plesently surpised to see so many people supporting her new look, though as stated before, it should be toned down & covered up, for the canon's sake alone. Image IPB

Prefer the older look.

Just think that a little old lady who turns into a dragon has more impact. More unexpected.

Much prefer the new look, though I now wonder why she is adorned with Qunari horns, or sim protrusions. Maybe to avoid wearing those silly looking Fereden mage hats?

DA2.

Her body is ridiculous though. Yet it seems there's only one female body in all of DA2 and that's modeled after a top heavy 20-something stripper. (Look at Hawke's mother...)

Well that's just because Thedas is a very bountiful realm.

I prefer the DA:O Flemeth for the same reasons I prefer the DA:O Qunari. I'm more of a fan of subtle and understated characters. I like how Flemeth was a batty hermit who could possibly be a powerful mage and even a demon, but I always found myself questioning this until my Warden's final confrontation with her. In DA 2 she just appears as a dragon, then pops into a supermodel's body with a form-fitting leather outfit, flaunting her magic powers. It felt a touch generic to me, just like the Qunari went from subtle alien features to ...bam, pale with minotaur horns. It's like someone blew dust off the top of the Generic Fantasy Throwback Spare Parts box back in Bioware's storage room, rummaged around blindly and pulled out these ideas.

It all depends on what Flemeth is suppose to represent at the time, or how she's being used by the story writers. She's not suppose to be human, per Morrigan, so they aren't locked down on a particuliar look (although all first game looks were tossed out the window anyway). The question is, did they explain the reason why her looks transformed from one game to the next? Other than an EA study group showed that teenage boys who enjoy CoD like hot grandmas.

She has hidden for so many years and her look in DA2 just screams "illegal mage here!". Not fitting for her character at all.

And she is not hundreds of years old, she is, but not the body. Give the black grimoire you find in the circle tower to Morrigan next time you play DA:O.
