I'm having issues getting the Kasumi DLC to install. Download seems to go well, the only issue with that part, is that i notice it doesnt have the ME2 icon, just a blank image.

I click on the .exe file to install and it initializes to about 91% before it goes away.......................and then nothing happens.

I'm not the most patient person, so I found something to distract myself with and allowed about 20 minutes from the "initializing" screen dissapearance, for the installer to come to life....nothing.

I've tried re-downloading it about 10 times now from 2 different sources and neither have worked nor given me the "ME2" icon, I have plenty of drive space and all my hardware is more than sufficient enough to handle this game.

All other DLC's were downloaded without a single problem, so I'm confused as to why this one is having trouble.

Thank you in advance for any solutions or feedback

XP - 32 bit
Phenom II X4 955 @ 3.21ghz
4 gb's of ram
ATI Firepro V7750

You wont get the ME2 icon, as not all of the DLC have been coded to include it.
This sort of error has happened to a few people, and it can have a variety of causes, ranging from wireless packet loss (either wireless internet, or local networking), Antivirus/firewall settings, browser, browser add-ons, and download accelerators.
Opera and Chrome, without add-ons, seem to be the most stable browsers to use for downloading the various DLC sucessfully.

Thank you!! I have tried it on Firefox and IE with no luck, but per your suggestion I will try Chrome next and then Opera if that doesnt work.

I will try this tomorrow, as it is now bedtime lol

I thank you again and will let you know tomorrow if it is successful:)

1) How many times have you tried to dl.
2) Do you have any dl accelerators active?
3) Are you on a wireless network?
3) What is the network speed that you are on.
4) Do you have any virus or firewall active when dling.
5) What are your system specs.
6) Where are you in the world?

If I'm reading this right, you are running a cracked version of a test AV package? May I suggest ditching it, and getting one of the reliable free AV packages out there, such as Comodo, or Avast?
Unfortunately I dont know much about the quality of ISPs in the Czech Republic, so cant comment on if the ISP delivery could be interfering with the file quality.

I have solved this problem. Your C:\\ drive needs to have 1000 meg free space for the Kasumi DLC installer program to even start. The installer copies itself to (on Windows XP) C:\\Documents and Settings\\[username]\\Local Settings\\Temp\\MassEffect2Temp\\. That folder contains a 991 meg DLCInstaller.exe and two DLL files. It does not matter where you install the DLC to (I installed it to my F:\\ drive); without enough C:\\ drive space, the installer will simply quit with no error after "Verifying Install Files".

It does not matter which browser you use to download the DLC.   It does not matter if the icon is "ME2" or a generic Windows icon; I had success with both.  It's the C:\\ drive free space that is the problem.

The installer file should notify us that it failed because of insufficient hard drive space. Ideally, the installer would tell us that it's simply uncompressing a large file and ask us where to save it. For those of us with solid state drives, hard drive space IS actually a concern.

The same requirement is true for the Zaeed DLC. Since that installer is 500 meg, it requires 500 meg free on the C:\\ drive. The funny thing is, I installed the 880 meg Arrival DLC and the 1.5 gig Shadow Broker DLC with only 300 meg free on my C:\\ drive. Since those installers are newer, I'm guessing they are better designed to use the drive with the most free space for temporary storage.

Oh, and I don't think the temporary install files in C:\\Documents and Settings\\... erase themselves after the install.  Five minutes after installing the DLC, the temp files were still there.  I deleted them manually.  Nothing worse than leaving 1000 meg files lying around.  Bioware, go clean your room!

I hope this helps everyone here.

So it turned out to be a drive space issue. In the day and age of terrabyte drives, this is the last thing we would suspect as being an issue. Having under 1gb of disk space on your primary drive can lead to other issues as well. I suggest going through and cleaning up your drive to allow the Windows swap file a bit more breathing room.

@firefox: the temp installation files do clean themselves up, its just that windows is slow to clean up after itself

10gb is far too small for your system drive. A current build of XP with relevant service packs is now about 4-5gb by itself, let alone various programs and other installations you may be dealing with. If you use MS Office you are looking at another 2-3gb depending on installation options and service packs.
I would advise you not to use the default installation option on any program any more, as it will always try and install to C drive, and you are obviously running out of room. Always select custom installation, and point it towards D drive. If youstart running out of room on D, then it might be time to invest in a new hard drive, and rebuild windows with a decent size partition.

One thing that might help others, i tried to install the Kasumi DLC too and i had the problem that the setup actually installed the Zaeed DLC over and over again. Was obvious for me because it showed the extracted file as "DLC_HEN_VT.rar" which is the Henchman Veteran aka Zaeed, as Firefox31 wrote it unpacks to the default system Drive which is at default the C: Drive, go into the folder he described and delete the MassEffect2Temp folder so it can unpack cleanly and then it'll install the right DLC, hope it helps someone after me.

Oh FYI I also downloaded the DLC fom 2 different sources one being this very site from which neither was successful at first.
