Friendship Anders only lives if you side with the mages and spare him. If you tell him to kick rocks he'll show up at the gallows to help (where you can tell him to kick rocks again and he goes off for good). 

If you let him go and side with the templars he'll attack you at the gallows. 

Rivalry Anders (this is currently bugged so that The Last Straw ignores the rivalry flag and the game plays out with Friendship Anders only). I believe you'll get the kill/go kick rocks/join me choice. He'll join on either templar or mages side I'm fairly certain (postive about him joining with the templars). Not sure if he still shows up if you tell him to kick rocks though (he's pretty "OMG what have I done?" on the rival end). And of course he begs you to kill him to end the threat he poses to others.

Heartless! Killing Anders...I could never do it. Well I did on my one side with ice queen playthrough but that was just to see how it all played out. Never again. That was a darkside path if I ever saw one and all my characters have to cheat to be ebil...sigh

btw...Didn't you just say killing people in Bio games should be an exception rather than a rule? Here you go in your games being stab-happy. The data they collect from all that will indicate more companions/game characters will need to be stab-worthy so you did it to yourself! 

I do wonder about Justice, I have a feeling he can revive Anders if the writers need/want him in the next game. So there is that. I mean Justice did it once already for the players that had Anders die in Awakenings...yes?

I do wonder if Seb will be in the next one and if he is hopefully changed for the better. A Rival Seb seems best.

I must have sided with the templars last time.  I am siding with mages this time so I'll try and keep him alive, not sure if I can get his approval up high enough before battle time but I'll try.
