Supposedly, Jacob is out. I heard Bioware came up with Sanders to replace Jacob because Bioware fans hate black people and didn't want a black guy in the games they play.  Personally, I think everyone in ME3 should be black, just like everyone is gay in DA2. Rub it in all you bigots' faces.

Everyone is bisexual in DA2, not gay.
About Jacob, I really don't see the problem with him. He isn't one of my favourite squad member, but I don't hate him. My only problem with him is his battlle suit, as with Miranda, Jack, Samara and Thane.

Who?  Oh that "Prize" guy.

Sorry but I don't think enough people had strong enough feelings about Jacob one way or the other to consider any portion of the fanbase as "hating" him.  "Ignoring" might be a better choice of words. :P

It sounds like Jack might be back as well. Obviously just speculating here but they seem to be giving her a somewhat extensive redesign.

I think we're going to end up with 9 squaddies.

Ashley/Kaidan, Tali, Garrus, Liara, Vega are all confirmed for a total of 5 thus far.

I think Miranda, Jack and Grunt will be confirmed, + 1 new character

M1 had 6 ppl in the party so it wouldnt be that bad for M3 to have 5 ppl in the party.
It was confirmed Garus and Tali will be in mass effect 3 but it wasnt stated they will be full-squadmates. Depending on the M2 SM mission there can be from 2 to 12 ppl that will be back in M3 as cameos/temp or full squad possibilities.

The requirement for Shepard to get out alive from the SM mission is for minimum 2 squadmembers to survive the reaper battle and help shep get to the ship. So in the worst case scenario we will have:

Ash/Kaiden , Liara and Vega and 2 surviving members as the minimum loadout for M3 but it can be bigger depending on who survived.

We can say for sure tha the DLC Zaaed/Kasumi will be cameos because they are freelancers.
The other members except the humans represent nearly every race in the galaxy and could be temp members helping with a race quest to gain allies for the war. Garrus will rally the turians, Tali the quarians, Legion the geth, Mordin the salarians, Thane the hanar race as hes own race is nealy extinct and he lives with hanars on they home planet. The only mistery is Grunt as we already have Wrex for the krogans but we dont have a Batarian member.

The only two ppl remaining are Jacob and Miranda both human both cerberus so its possible only one of them will be back and the other will go its own way/get killer/arrested. The biggest in favour here is Miranda for her popularity over Jacob, she was with TIM in the begining intro so she knows where he is hiding and she got the tities so she got a head start over Jacob.

So in the end we can have lot off ppl returning in M3 but noone of them are actualy important to us except Liara/Vega/Ash/Kaiden. The rest if they survived can do cameos and help with race loyality mission as members but even if they are dead it wont have an impact as it will only make the mission easier for us if they are alive.

We cant realy say BW will punish us for loosing a teammate in M2 and wont let us get a race to join the cause. The thing I see is if your member of the race surived it could have a benefit of that race suriving the final battle or for shepard to make it out alive in the end the same as the loyality mission had impact if the character died in the SM mission.

Nothing has been said one way or the other on Jacob. Also, this post makes my brain hurt. Do you ever have anything intelligent to say?

Please let Mordin be in the squad, please let Mordin be in the squad.

I think the best way to do this would be to be able to choose who we recruit if too many survived. That way people can keep their personal favourites yet at the same time give everyone a chance to shine.

I also really hope Legion is permanent, since he was one of the most widely anticipated squadmates and yet was barely in ME2. Just for two main missions really.

I think the comment was based off that rediculous PSM3 magazine (or whatever it was called) which speculated that Jacob had been replaced by James. Jacob will almost certainly crop up in either an Alliance or Cerberus section of the game, if not both.

I don't think I've read anything about Tali yet. Any source of the confirmation?

This person claims to be an employee at EA, hears things at EA and is a moderator at cheathappens, said this,

"One big major hint I will tell you though, Kaiden or Ashley becomes a squad member again, as does Liara.Unfortunately for the Tali fans, she will not be a squad member this time around, but perhaps you finally see her face? Perhaps :P"

If you read a post by this same person earlier before this statement, you'll see where this person makes claim to being an employee at EA. Now, whether this person is telling the truth or not, I do not know. If I had my choice, I would as soon not have either Ashley or Kaiden so I could have Tali (preference of course, I really liked A&K a lot though, so it would not be a total bummer with them). I am sure there will be another human squad mate anyway.

My comments strained your brain so it must have been intellegent enough to tax your brainpower to its limits.

Wish we could have Wrex back =(
your party simply doesn't look perfect without a krogan (warlord) especially considering he's your best bud in the universe

Meh. I like Grunt better than Wrex.

Please, Bioware, don't take my baby from me.

I'm guessing we will get 8 crew members in ME3. Seems to be a good even number. Also may get an extra one in dlc. The question is who will, and should get the last few spots?

Jack - no one has said she's a returning squad mate. It was only said, that she has a new look. But I assume everyone will get an updated look. Liara returning gives us a strong biotic. Not sure if we will get another.

Miranda - Also still up in the air, since we have heard nothing about her coming back. Wasn't a big fan of hers, since she was mostly there for just Eye Candy. Could return since she could have an interesting run in with TIM. Hell, she could turn on Shep. Her story could be awesome if done right in ME3. (Make her more then just T&A.)

Jacob - It was already said he's not coming back as a companion, since he was the least liked character in the game.

Legion - was pointed out he's not going to be a companion.

Mordin - same as Legion.

Thane - no word on him yet. He only had a few months to live in ME2, so I could see him dying very early in ME3, doing something heroic.

Grunt - should be back, he has no where to go. Plus we need a Krogan on our team. (I'd prefer Wrex, but doubt that will happen)

Zaeed - should get a cool cameo, doubt he gets more then that.

Kasumi - same as Zaeed

Samara - Bioware almost never uses two aliens of the same species as companions. With 1 asari already in (Liara), I doubt Samara returns.

My ideal last 3 would be

Wrex/Grunt - We need a Krogan.

New Batarian - They may play a bigger role in ME3, and I'd like to see one as a companion. (Doubt this happens, we will get another human)

Female Turian - The fact that we have yet to see a single female Turian in ME is a joke. They fight along side the males, and are every bit as good at fighting. Their omission should be fixed, by adding one as a squad mate. (Doubt this happens, we will just get another human)

Miranda and Ashley in the squad? dont think so. Look at Ashleys foto in one of magazines, she looks like Miranda now, so there is no point to have two almost identical squaddies. I hope there will be some badass character in ME3, I didn't like Jack, I was not convinced by Garrus, but he's okay. Someone like Zaeed or Wrex could be perfect.

Also, we should get at least 1 squaddie from each major race, so krogan is a must, but it must be Wrex or Grunt, I don't want to see another freak of nature. Batarian? Possibility for badass squaddie, but there is problem with their look, they look like clones, but sometimes with different skin colour. Also he have to be a original one.

It could depend on who survived the suicide mission. If garrus as tali died, than maybe someone else from the me2 squad would take their place. Total speculation though.

Is it confirmed the vega is a human? I know he's in the alliance...but still. Just a thought.

A lot of these lists have a very high human-to-alien ratio. I can see why the development team might deem it fitting for ME3's plot but I think they'd ultimately recognize that there are big fanbases of each race and sprinkle in a bit more variety.
