I hear you....it's the same with keeping Legion in the AI room...I was kinda, when I realized where he was.
Hell, I even like Jacob, who everyone seems to have distaste for. Good guy, good moral character, understands what needs to be done without drinking TIM's kool aid. He was nice to have around as someone I felt I could trust.
To be fair, Legion could try to hack the Normandy regardless of where he was but yeah the A.I room is.... an odd place to put him in.

I hate Shepard, that guy is a pain in the ass. The stupid ass decisions that guy makes... and his appearance. Terrible character.

I like Jacob a lot. The first time my Shepard met him, I thought, what a good, solid friend this man will be. Hope I can romance him. He really does get a lot of bad press just for the way Shepard talks to him. But if you pursue the romance, there are actually some conversations of note.
