Recently I was planning to get ME1 after I finished ME2 so I could get the outcomes I wanted for ME3.

I have a friend who got ME1 before me and  I was wondering if I could just borrow his cd so I could play, although im not sure if this is actually going to work. If anyone could clarify it would be appreciated.

I apologize in advance if this is the wrong place to ask this.

EDIT: I also apologize for the seemingly noobish question.

Whatever version of ME1 your playing the saves will be compatibile with another version. You can borrow your friends game, and when you get your own copy I don't think you even need to uninstall it... a diffrent CD should work, not to mention that there was an official crack-patch released by BioWare (don't quote me on that) since securom makes it impossible to read orginal game discs...

Short: You can play on his CD and then use yours. If not, you will just have to unistall the game while keeping the saves and install from your own CD. There should be no problems with compatibility.

Still, borrowing of games is considered piracy lol

I think you should buy it but still, you could borrow it to your pal and try it on your PC. But because of SecuROM I think you should when you got your own version, uninstall it but keeping your saves elseware, and re-install it.

or simply get it on STEAM, even if I don't like to buy Non-material stuff... I do agree only if I get a nice deal from it (DA Awakening half priced on XBLA last christmas is a good example).
