Malak
For whatever reason, it was the first name that I thought of during Origins and I kept it.
What did you name your mabari?

Ah see I obviously thought about mine a bit too much.
DAO - There were a couple called Dane (from the werewolf codex in game) but most were Blaze after a dog we had when I was a kid.
DA2 - Dinn - From the Dinn's Fire spell in Zelda Ocarina of Time. Dinn was a variation of the name for Genie, it can change depending on what stories you are reading.

Muffin is my canon's dog from DA:O. I liked the name so much it stuck and now I can't name the dog anything else unless I am on my Cousland then its Hohaku after the dog in Nan's story. Hawke's dog is Muffin as well. It has no special meaning beyond that i was feeling very tongue in cheek when I was playing my Surana.
So, Muffin for all dogs except the Cousland one

Usually...same thing I named my Fable 2 & 3 dog: Spade. Because they dig up random junk and because it sounds like 'spayed'.
One time it struck me that the mabari looked kind of like a bear, so I named him Oso on a few playthroughs.

DAO: My first dog was Brogan. Then the thought police took his name and made him a dwarf in Golems of Amgarrak.
For DA2, I've had Berkeley (pronounced 'Barkley') and Houndsley. Next up is Woofenstein. Snarl Eamon would be cool if you could use spaces. Pants is another option--very descriptive.

Origins
Chopper
Tank (because early on that's what he was)
Vanguard
Muffin (brother of Cupcake. One of my more peculiar Wardens)
Achilles (as in "Achilles, heel!")
Ares
DA2
Baskerville because I wasn't feeling very creative. There was an advertisement in front of me 2 seconds before for some Hidden Object game featuring Sherlock Holmes.
Sarge
In fiction I always name him Barkspawn if he's Alistair's because of the Darkspawn Chronicles.
