I think this is a good thing. The developers have chosen the colours they think suit each squadmember best, while allowing Shepard to change his/hers because they are the player's character. I'd hope we can customize parts of our squadmates' suits, like helmets and whatnot, but I don't think we need to alter the colours of them. 

Probably won't bother with alt-skins though, unless they're really good. I bought the first one because I didn't like Garrus walking around in broken armour, and I felt I played ME2 enough for it to be worthwhile.

This is my guess.  When we import, say, Hardened Adrenaline Rush, it will be at rank 4 of 6 possible ranks in ME3.  The way ranks 4 through 6 work is that at each rank there is a mutually exclusive pair of options.  You can only choose one.  So importing Hardened Adrenaline Rush will already have the choice made for us at rank 4.

Sounds like we don't keep our bonus power from ME2 but can choose a new one in ME3. Wait, are we talking about powers that we get after the first playthrough or class powers here?

pfft. will be purchasing all dlc for ME3 with no hesitation just like i did for ME2 and Mass Effect. will even track down the extra dr pepper items on ebay again if i have to. gotta have em all

if not swapping squad armor means higher resolutions and better looking cutscenes im all for it. testing all the combos for shep must be time consuming anyway, adding all squadies to list. ugh

You keep the evolved abilites you already had in ME2, but you lose the bonus skill you had - like the Geth Shield Boost or Reave - because there will be new ones.

My main problem with the armor skins is how greedy EA/Bioware is with them. They'll give you three skins for two bucks, then scratch their heads when only a few thousand people -- typically slightly more hardcore players -- are willing to buy them.

And it takes MONTHS for them to create these three costumes! Someone with modding skills can make their own skins in a few days (if not a few hours), yet it takes BW three to six months to get a few out? BULL****.

Why don't they just make giant costume packs, with eight or twelve costumes, then sell those? More people would be willing to buy it then. But NOOOOOOOOO.

I kinda don't like that, the bonus power basically makes or breaks some of my specs on some of my sheps. For example, my sentinel tank shep is a tank because she has energy drain. Uh, click my sig if you want to see it in action.

Yeah, I'm sort of worried about starting ME3 on insanity now, because I won't have barrier to help me move around without getting destroyed. Especially since there's going to be smarter enemies. Oh well. Just part of the learning curve.

I just hope we can re-train powers as soon as we get on the Normandy, since I'll want a chance to customize my Adrenaline Rush from the ground up, as an example.

Hmm, too bad. Was planning on my alt-canon Shep to be a Soldier who starts with Overload as a bonus power in ME1, which later becomes Energy Drain in ME2 and 3. Then again, Tali might just grant us ED again.

Do not get to keep them. The new bonus powers will be revealed later. Evolved stay though. EG: w/ vanguard - biotic charge - heavy.
