Hah nice, I knew someone mentioned being able to add scopes to AR's not just Snipers but that delicious little tweet just proves it. *does the happy dance*

Now if I can slap one on the Revenant.... mmmmm.

"Almost done my #ME3 Soldier run and gun playthrough. The Mattock + 4x scope is pretty lethal."

WHAAAAAT

That's more closer to a sniper rifle than anything else.

Actually it's *exactly* like a semi-auto AR with a 4x scope.

That would be just great. If this is possible, I think I'm forgetting about every other weapon in ME3. :D

I just want the environments to promote longer range sniping than ME2. I loved creeping up on a hill in the first one and scoping a geth from a distance. There's no real distance in ME2 that I couldn't handle with the Vindicator.

The confusion might not be present if you were spelling it Chippendales (as it is actually known) rather than Chip N' Dales (Disney).

But I suppose you want people to combine that imagery

Sorry, I'm from Australia, so I didn't really know how to spell it, since I have only seen em' once so far. :pinched:

Agreed. Sniping in ME2 was...fun, but it really didn't feel like I needed to snipe. Hopefully they make the battlefields big but not HUGE like the planets in ME1.

Considering the general size and scope with what we've seen so far, and some of the stuff they've said about the battlefields. I think, at least in some capacity, its semi-safe to say there will be much larger and more... sniper accessible areas to go wild in. In fact I'm pretty sure in one of the interviews months back they painted imagery of enemy snipers and you taking out there positions, then picking up there sniper rifle and going to town on there buddies from there location.

Think that's part of the point of picking up weapons actually. Being able to adapt to the situation in case what you brought along just isn't cutting it for what you need. Kill a guy - take his gun and use it on his buddies. Don't think that'll be required but I can promise you, personally, if I get the chance to sneak up and take out a snipers nest and then use his position for awhile before dropping his rifle and grabbing my gun again? That will happen given the chance.

Unless I scope out a Revenant, in which case I'll use that to pop horribly aimed snipy shots with glee and general maniacal laughter.

It's was more precision shooting than anything else. Calling what we had sniping in ME2 is inaccurate to say the least. I only really used sniper rifles to kill guys behind cover since the AI didn't completely conceal themselves. Otherwise using Snipers rifles felt more like using a scoped Semi automatic rifle.

Could you imagine how inaccurate the Revenant would be with a 4x scope though? Even firing in short bursts, it was all over the place. Still my favorite gun however.

My plan for my soldier Shep's arsenal is
  • Revenant for devestating close-quarters and mid-range combat; priority on damage modifiers and recoil reduction
  • Widow for superb lethality at long distances; damage modifiers above anything else, but may add a more advanced scope or mods that increase thermal clip capacity
  • Since the revenant rendered shotguns practically useless in ME2 (however Bioware has promised that shotguns are a much more viable option for classes other than vanguards now, so I''ll have to see footage before I make a decision), the only use I see for a shotgun at the moment is one that fires relatively quickly and with little recoil to deal with charging enemies such as husks. Damage and melee modifications are a must.
  • A heavy pistol such as the Phalanx or Carnifax as a backup for medium to long-range combat; emphasis on damage mods and scopes that increase zoom distance.

Mine too…when you get all the upgrades and fire it in short bursts, it’s pretty controllable. Specially combined with Adrenaline Rush (soldier)

I’m all exited that my favorite class (Infiltrator) will be able to use it in ME3

I want the return of the rounds that added force to them, as well. What were they called? Either way, once shotguns can blow people off their feet (without killing them) again, I'll be happy.

Do you even get a save file to import if Shepard dies?

Seems like Gamble's grasp on the game's content and lore is about as strong as Silverman's.
