The other two get blown up as they make their stand against an unstoppable onslaught of Cerberus / Reaper forces. Later in life Shep will be questioned as to why he left two of those guns to die, to which he answers: "It was a hard choice that I didn't take lightly".

God. I can't stop laughing.

I'd much rather see Lorik in person this time than get an e-mail that I can't respond to.

Oh man I would 'love' the ability to reply to the Emails. Why the hell there isn't minor-chains with your responses I'll never know. I actually liked that part about Alpha Protocal, if they where to do that in ME3 would be fantastic. Kinda sucked cause half the time they'd ask you something not just say something and not being able to respond to people asking stuff? infuriating.

Yeah, I don't think it would be hard to implement in ME3...

Responses could be: Paragon, Renegade, Neutral (optional)

Rewards might include the following: more money, an extra mod (Similar to Nassana mission reward), Paragon/Renegade points, etc...

Weren't there e-mail-like things with LotSB, those investment opportunities? They could do something like that again.

Those always yielded the same results though, the ones in AP had varying results based on how you responded; such as more influence with a character, money, extra dossiers (that aided in the main mission)

So, if all weapons and armour are returning (even DLC?), does that mean the Dr. Pepper (recon hood, umbra visor, and sentry interface) "helmets" will be be back too?

I'd imagine they won't be but I quite liked all 3.

They might be, never really know. I kind think all that DLC stuff that you may, or may not have if its in the game can be bought if its not in your current play through. For instance the Mattoc, im sure everyone will have weather its part of there ME2 DLC list or not. So could be same for the other stuff you mentioned SillyWilly2. Who knows though, may not be. They ultimately said 'most if not all' or just 'most' when asked past times.

So sounds like they plan to do it all but aren't sure exactly what would make it in, makes sense really.

"Will the email system return? And if so will there be emails that start side missions in #ME3?"

"#ME3 We're still sorting out the details, but as it seemed a success on #ME2, we'd like to find ways to leverage that success."

pfffffffffftttthhahaHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Way to stick that thumb far up your ass. I never realized Bioware was that deluded.

I've known since they released ME2 and called it a sequel. :whistle:

But seriously, do they honestly think that a crap non interactive email system is preferable to the full blown verbal communications - complete with choice wheel - system that we had in ME1?

I rather liked the e-mails. It gave you a sense of the wider world out there and how your actions are affecting things. Some of them were very funny (I loved the junk mail ones).

We already have interactive conversations throughout the game I don't see any point in making the e-mails interactive too. They're for stuff that doesn't need to be interactive, just to show that your actions are affecting people.

The point was that they just went full-retar i mean email mode for EVERYTHING. They sell their games on "big choices and consequences" and what do you get in ME2 for about 3/4 of what we've done in ME1? The only instance of continuity between games?

lol email

It's a lazy cop-out of the worse kind.

You get an e-mail from Lorik Q'in? Er...I never did. Why would that be? I used the Renegade
persuasion on him in ME1 in most games, perhaps that's it, but not in all of them. So where is this email?

It only occurs if Lorik was made the new Administrator.. I think that means giving him the evidence directly and bypassing both Anolieas and Giana for a garage pass to Peak 15.

No, they definitely don't think that. But they think - and rightly so - it's better than nothing if they don't want to spend the resources to create a full scene. Deluded are those who think that full scenes with every inconsequential NPC from the past games are a real possibility. The realistic alternative, in most cases, is that we get nothing.

And I prefer getting an email from Kate Bowman to getting nothing from her.

@leonia42:
Ah...then that's it. I always play on Gianna's team....

I've supported Gianna in every ME1 playthrough I've done. My womanizer Sheploo is looking forward to the implied booty call in ME3.... ^_^

I think the trouble is with people expecting to see the consequences of their choices in ME2 when it was always intended that any real consequences would have to wait for ME3.

I fully expect our choices in both games to be full of consequences for ME3 but that doesn't stop the e-mails being an amusing and entertaining filler in the mean time. I enjoyed them. Same as I enjoyed the Galactic News broadcasts, the Adverts and the Cerberus Daily News.

Not everything has to be interactive to be enjoyable  :)

This. Not everything can/needs to have world-changing consequences. Sometimes you're just helping little to pseudo-important people. What other way do they have to thank you?

I wholeheartedly support both e-mails and news broadcasts. To me it adds to the 'realistic' feeling, rather than having each and every person Shepard's ever met to come and shake her hand, offering incredible rewards.
