@CannotCompute, localizations are not a thing out of the unordinary. They aren't done by Bioware, but by the respective publisher of the game in each country. BioWare just do the English voices/subtitles, and an EA producer and representative are probably there for the other language recording sessions for minor supervising.

Still a waste of precious disk space imo. But thanks for clearing things up.

I fail to see how spoilers about romances and the characters used in the demo are connected, but whatever.

True, but it's part of the larger trend with ME3. At this point back in 2009 we already knew how mnay squadmates there would be, we new about 4 new characters (Miranda, Jacob, Thane & Grunt) and saw them. Now they don't even want to tell how big core squad will be and we're yet to even hear Vega's voice who's a single new squadmate revealed.

Very illogical claim. And even if it wasn't, I'd stomach any marketing flop to have a game full of surprises on my shelf, not a thoroughly spoiled and uninteresting piece of garbage.

You mean spoil the game yourself right? BioWare never forced anyone to watch new trailers, videos, sit on forums full of spoilers by default etc.

That's exactly what I mean. Defining how spoilers work in general doesn't help your argument much.

Very Interesting.... I'm half tempted to ask if you guys could throw in some questions for Walters to answer in regards to the "plotholes" in ME2 like why the Collector Ship didn't just fly off when Shepard was on board etc.

You know to shut up, smudboy. ;)

Can someone asks this to Mac Walter? In an interview with GameIformer he said that the sun behind The Illusive Man office was a clue to his location, but in the Retribution novel it states that he changed the location of his base after the turian attack onn the research station. He turned back or what?

Weren't all of its systems down? If it started powering up earlier, then Shepard would immediately know it's a trap and run back to the Normandy. I guess the Collectors thought they'd have a better chance if they waited until Shep was further into the ship.

I know the answer to that^ question. Because it's a video game. Suspension of disbelief is a powerful thing.

EDI was also preventing them from powering the ship up to buy Shepard time.

Did you not read the tweet?  The HR wasn't a new vanguard.

I never understood why some people previously thought he would be the new vanguard, I mean without access to Citadel Master control, an attack by one reaper and its allies on the Citadel would be doomed.

But anyway, it's good that we've finally had some confirmation on this. Perhaps the Collectors really were targetting earth- the collector cruiser would probably have been accompanied by the reapers and other collector vessels during its trip to earth to harvest the humans.

And as well as being an experiment, the human reaper built in Mass Effect 2 would have given the reapers another front (albeit a smaller one) in the war- while the main reaper fleet would attack from the outside, the human reaper could strike from beyond the Omega 4 relay (accompanied by a collector fleet).

They are the one making the trailers and spoilers, though. It's completely possible to do relatively spoiler free trailers.

Of course, just as it is completly possible to just not watch the new trailers. It's not like people don't know they may contain spoilers one way or another.

And there's a huge gap between spoiling endings (obvious no-no) and saying for example is it possible at all to have Miranda as a squadmate at any point (without going into any further details).

But that could be a spoiler. If Miranda appears to be working for Cerberus when we start playing the game but we know from the devs that she can be a squadmate at some point then that would be spoiling the plot. We would then know that she comes over to our side before the end. If the devs don't say anything then we get to discover that stuff for ourselves.

Similarly, if they tell us everybody can be a squadmate but they won't tell us about Miranda then the obvious conclusion is the above scenario so, again, it becomes a spoiler.

So the safest thing is to tell us as little as possible so we can't draw those kinds of conclusions.

Regards

Julian

The inability to recognize the fact that the Reapers DO NOT need the Citadel to return to the Milky Way. They can just FTL on over. A decapitation strike against the Citadel just gives them an easier job of conquering the galaxy; it is not a prerequisite.

I did and Squee was right. There were no plotholes, just people not thinking.

There's no big show or anything for ME3, but there will be a booth set up for it (see previously posted twitter pics).

BioWare has an hour-long show for TOR, an hour-long show for the future of DA, and an hour-long BioWare-Mythic show for something about Warhammer.

He does come off as rather a know-it-all, but he is right in the very general regard that ME2's story is broken. It's a great game, and I've l've played it a ridiculous number of times, but the main plot is kind of a waste. Squaddie missions were great though.
