Maybe that's how biotics work under the effect of Overpower.


 I am guessing that double pull combo is the use of Overpower

 It would be very cool if one of the final evolutions of pull (and maybe throw as well) makes them ignore protections

That's what he said. And Silverman being Silverman, he probably got Engineer and Sentinel mixed up.
