I dunno if anyone has mentioned this yet, but I'm a bit worried that the same sex characters are all of a sudden going to be all over Shep too. I mean, I've built up a good rapport with Garrus but if he started coming on to me then he'd lose a certain brotherly charm to him (not in a homophobic way, just that they seem good friends).

Just a though, maybe the sexuality option is a binary choice at the start so that every character isn't immediately after you?

Lovely, is everyone in ME3 going to be bi now like in DA2? I guess I won't have a problem with this as long as I don't get hit on by EVERY single male companion like in DA2, who then get all pissy when I reject them. I'm getting rather sick of having all this gay crap shoved down my throat(pun not intended). I'll be pissed if they make Garrus a ******.

Please guys post some of your ideas to Casey. It's only benefitial for us:

1. We can influence what we will see - that is good enough in itself, but it also means that we can provide more feedback from what we will see, later here on BSN.

2. Casey usually does not ask us for ideas, if we succeed now, he will be willing to contact us more often in future.

3. It will inspire more developers from ME team to contact us.

You always complain about the lack of communication, now is one of your chances.

Well, hopefully BW is smart and this team won't go the DA2 route by making every character suddenly bi and chasing after Shep. I'm hoping for some dedicated characters and for smarter interactions.  Considering they want to make deeper friendship paths as well, I'm hopeful that there will be clearer triggers or something.

Unlikely, though having a Volus on the SR2 is highly probable, Tali will probably need SOMEONE to cover for her, besides, have you SEEN volus'? I'd like to think past events in game would set-up what your relationship with the character is. Yeeaaah, that would be just a little irritating.  Maybe an opportunity to reaffirm your previous commitment early in ME3? Otherwise I can see the devs leaving it "open" in case players wanted to change their mind about a previous romance and pursue a different one, and the default being everyone trying to jump Shep in a dark alley...er...the Normandy.

Hopefully Bioware will avoid changing existing characters sexual orientation

agree with your point and that's the real world and mature way to
handle it. But say Garrus and Kaidan doing a 180 and getting all OOC is
what worries me. I'm mentioning those 2 because they're confirmed. But
if James Vega or whatever his name is says "hey Shepard I like you."
Shepard will answer "don't swing that way, carry on." and I won't care.
You see where I'm getting at?

That is my concern as well that one or all of the existing characters will be changed to be romanancable by the same sex if it's a new character and dialogue options that will lead to a romance are clearly defined than thats not an issue for me.

Why do you think this will happen? This was only the case with Anders, and the reaction makes sense for his character; besides in DA:O every character loses approval if you reject them. Don't worry about every character hitting on you, so far in ME you've had to pursue romances.

But I do agree that it would be ridiculous to change already established sexualities in the 3rd game.

I hope they do the right thing but after DA2, I understand why gamers think they won't.  The DA team catered to the minority and it seems that the ME team is following in their footsteps.

We heard Clints & Sams music from Thanes recruitment mission when ME2 gameplay was shown in E3 a few years back so I would say most definately we will hear Mansell's work this E3 since gameplay footage will be shown.

I agree with you.  I can see having a couple of bi or gay characters but not changing who the characters are and saying, well Kaidan and Ashley were going to be gay but we changed our minds and now we've changed our minds again.

I recall it being said they were going to use more clear icons to distinguish what dialogue options meant what (ala DA2).  Don't quote me on that, but I recall it from somewhere.  So...hopefully you won't have to be a jerk to everyone by default just to avoid a ninjamance.

Thanks I think it's an good title.

Its obvious Bioware are trying to pander to everyone now and look what happened with DA2. I know ME3 is going the same route and they are going to make existing characters suddenly get the hots for Shep, it's pretty obvious Kaidan, Ashley, Tali, Garrus and others aren't gay but expect them to jump into the sack with either gender come release of ME3. 

David Gaiders explanations for a new direction in DA2 has shown  Biowares new view on development under EA is forget characterisation and also story as long as we cater to everyone.

I agree.  I don't like where Bioware is going.  I'm buying the game because it's the last in the series but after this I won't buy any other Bioware games.  They should learn from the fiascal of DA2, but they won't.  I only like dark haired straight guys.  Are they going to cater to me?  Don't think so.
