You lose your ME2 bonus power in ME3 (no matter what) but:

No, I mean the bonus like Paragon/Renegade scores, money and minerals. That kind of thing.

Well there was this tweet recently:

twitter.com/#!/CaseyDHudson/status/110245525076451328

But it doesn't go into any specifics on what will transfer.

I hope that means I can change class without losing the import bonuses, because that would really suck.

I changed classes many times when importing saves from ME1 into ME2 and never lost any of the import bonuses. I don’t see why they would change that

"#ME3 has 25 weapon mods, 5 per weapon type. Each of these have multiple power levels to collect."

This needs more clarification because I read this as that we only get -1 barrel, 1 sight, 1 magazine...etc...  That only have different levels of strength?

If this is the case then what's the point in having mods if all they are is different strength versions of the same thing?

Just seems like it's the same system as ME2 but with a different interface.

I wonder what the collection missions (Turian emblems, minerals, Asari writings, Prothean relics, etc) will do to impact the game.

I don't think they will have a major impact outside of a new gun or a new weapon mod...or an easier time rallying a species...

that's assuming that they cater too much to the PS3 users, since they didn't have access to that content and they don't want to make too big an outcome on a sidequest they can never perform.

If they seriously have an impact in ME3, I will be very pissed off. Who seriously wasted their time to look at every planet and scanned it just so they could complete those dumb sidequests. Especially the minerals one, that must have taken hours to complete.

From scanning planets and driving the mako on landable planets would take forever just to find all the minerals. If they have even the slightest impact, I will flip out.

Something along those lines were mentioned, but it was about the levels; you lose your ME2 import level if you change the class, but keep it if you don't. Not sure about other bonuses, but can't see why they'd strive away from the ME1-to-ME2 approach.

As a PS3 gamer I agree, they shouldn't just retcon Mass Effect 1 out of existance just to cater to us, what I do mind,  however, is that if there was some sort of side-quest in ME1 that could be a complete turning point in the war against the reapers I will be thoroughly pissed off since unless EA or Microsoft re-release ME1 for the PS3 (which they won't) then I'll have no chance in winning. A small side-quest is understandable, a mission relating to that is sorta pushing it, but having, say, that Prothean relic side-quest as leverage to win over a species is something I'd call bull over.

I think you mean "same system as ME1".  It had five weapon mods with different levels:

Sensors, sights, heat reducers, barrel extensions, and stabilizers.

And the sights were really just the low level version of the stabilizers.  However, I expect the mods in ME3 will have a much more noticeable impact on weapon function.  For instance, the scopes will actually be usable as scopes and not just increment accuracy by some tiny amount.

Does anybody know if we are going to be able to change hairstyles on default Shepard? If not, could somebody ask on twitter?

Yes, you will be able to tweak your imported #ME2 character in #ME3.

Also, it's been confirmed that femShep will get new hairstyles in ME3, so I can't imagine broShep won't.

edit: Can you change class and appearance at the start of ME3?” Yes.

How is that elitism?

Because since he found it boring and annoying, he expects Bioware to cater to him and make it have no impact, basically screwing over the ones that did take the time to look for them.

By that very loose definition, having any opinion at all counts as elitism.  So I guess lending my voice to Kabanya101 makes me an elitist too: ME1 collection quests sucked.  They don't deserve to have an impact in ME3.

Ok, that was worded badly. I meant to say that even though they were tedious and mind-numbingly boring, they should have an effect, no matter how small. Like maybe some credits or even a weapon mod.  They should have an effect for people who got them all.

I hope it does have an impact because your pure hatred of it having such, is annoying.

There is no reason to not have something someone likes just because someone else does not like it. If someone skipped doing something because they were either too lazy or just plain didn't enjoy it enough to bother then sorry 'boo hoo cry me a river' it would be their fault for not doing it. It is no reason why it shouldn't or couldn't have an impact of some kind even if small. To shoot down this idea based on someone couldn't be bothered to do it is annoying and spiteful.
